Did ya'll see the video of a reporter in Iraq throwing two shoes at President Bush during a press confrence? He ducked, to avoid being hit. So, since he wasn't hurt, and even joked about it himself, I can say that was one of the funniest things I've ever seen. ;D

Saying "Happy Holidays" has become the cool new politically correct thing to do. Up until a few years ago some folks might wish others "Happy Holidays" but no one had ever heard of "Holiday trees" or "Holiday shopping." This is a perfect example of PC extremism. Happy Holidays (and by "Happy Holidays" what I really mean is "Merry Christmas," and in particular, "Happy Birthday Jesus.")

Tyrus, That makes sense. But, I have one more question. Flechero mentioned that the first step to Ramsey's plan is to set up a small emergency fund. GeneinTX added that he has increased this fund due to the economy. So, if you have an adaquate emergency fund built up (in a MM or similar fund), would you still invest in the CD over paying off the debt?

But I did. I used a CD from a bank so the risk is zero (it is FDIC insured) and the return is guaranteed. I did forget to take out taxes from the cd so it's currently basically a wash, but as CD rates rise (hopefully, because that will mean that this recession is over) then the CD will outperform paying off the debt. However, with it being a wash I still think you're better off putting that extra money in the bank because then you have it in case you need it. If you send it to the bank then you no longer control those funds and if you need it you can't get it. I'm not trying to argue about this. Just trying to help the OP in making his decision regarding what to do by providing another viewpoint. 8-) Tyrus, Why would you invest in a CD instead of paying off debt if the interest rates and taxes would make it a wash? I see the advantage of paying off the debt faster: Freeing up money to invest with (in something higher yielding than a CD). But, what would be the advantage of the CD if it's a wash?

Burley, PM me your address and I'll send you some ear plugs in the mail. The only time I shoot without plugs in is when hunting, and even then, if I'm planning on shooting a lot, I'll take plugs to the stand with me.

Why not just get a muzzle break on your 7mm and keep on shooting? :-? IMO brakes have no place on hunting guns. What would be the disadvantage? On the other hand, the advantage is obvious: If you have a brake you're going to be more likely to spend more time at the range, practicing with the gun, so you'll be better prepared for the hunt. We all know that we don't "feel the kick" when we're hunting. But, I shot a 7mm several times on a hunt last year (management hunt ) without a brake and by the forth deer, I jerked in anticipation of the beating I was about to take. ;D
