  1. right handed and my two baitcasters are left handed. just never felt right holding the rod in my left hand, its much more comfortable in my right hand and cranking with my left.
  2. Poppers and Chatterbaits...
  3. i doubt he has to have written permission, verbal will probably be fine. although, i understand some states do require written permission from the land owner to do certain things...
  4. i agree with this. you cant just go doing things to other peoples ponds without permission from them(the landowners/pond owners). if its not your pond, no need to go calling the DNR, stocking minnows and all that. if you can keep fish from that pond, then thats what i would do. some land owners ask anyone they let fish it to catch and release. or is it a public pond? because then the scenario changes...
  5. i used to live on a farm for about 7 years that had a small pond maybe 1/2 to 3/4s of an acre big, it was full of bass and bluegill. at one time all i fished was berkeley red shad worms. the bass never got tired of them. eventually i wanted to try different things and it became my test pond for new lures and techniques, it was pretty clear so i could see my baits action a lot of the time. but when nothing else worked, the berkeley red shad worm always did(except in winter, then the bass liked silver husky jerks and silver manns minus 1s). the berkeley worked on days when the zoom red shad worm didnt, and red shad kinami flash senkos didnt. one thing i can say, ive only had one successful day on that pond where lipless cranks(red eye shads) were the hot bite. there were two more baits ranked closely to the berkeley red shad worm but not quite as good in that pond, 2. was the baby rage craw in summer craw and 3. any shade of green colored lizards, i used rage tail and zoom mostly. Havoc Pit Boss could be one of those baits maybe, havent fished it there but twice though. oh, and ive never caught a bass in that pond with a popper, they just dont work there lol. Whether or not bass can or cannot identify and avoid lures, im not sure thats what i pull from that article. theres something there to be learned im sure, just not sure if it what the title of the article claims...
  6. ummmm...the t-rig is not a bait, its a way to rig a bait. a senko is a bait. a bait you should be t-rigging...
  7. try that same booyah spinnerbait except in white with the red painted head on it. and maybe in the 3/8th pond magic version...
  8. thats great that youve surrounded yourself with good people you can depend on in time of need and tragedy. a little over a month ago, i lost my 39 year old sister to a single car accident. she left behind a husband and 6 and 9 year old girls who now have to grow up without mommy. this was in NC, i had to take off a little over a week of work and go down there. the whole week just overwhelmed me and the rest of the family with how many people helped out and offered support. even people who knew my sister but never really hung out with her. people brought more food and drinks and utensils and the likes through the door than you can imagine, mostly good home cooking too. it was just amazing really. it also helped get through a very tough week for all of my family. some of my friends said she was like the sister they never had. i have a friend who drives trucks drop his load and transfer it to another driver to come and offer me support. most of my life long friends are in nc just to clarify. i guess im just trying to say, it truely is a blessing when youre surrounded by great people who wont hesitate to lend a helping hand in a time of need or tragedy...
  9. LOL at the search baits bit. i fish texas rigs a variety of ways, youre right, they dont have to just be fished slow by dragging it on the bottom every few minutes. you can speed them up in more than one way. and cover all depths of water as well. 1. want a slower or faster fall through the water column, change the weight size. bigger, smaller, peg it, let it free slide or remove it all together. 2. who says you have to sit their for minutes before moving your bait? yes this method can work, so does flat out dead sticking at times. but you can drag your worm how ever fast you want to. you can pause for minutes or seconds or just give a constant drag worm, reel slack, drag worm reel slack method... 3. you can also just reel very slowly and keep your bait constantly dragging across the bottom. or your can reel it faster and get it up in the water column some. 4. you can hop your texas rig back to the boat or bank. 5. you can go weightless and fish it as a top water. or swim it anywhere in the water column. bass will bite swimming worms. 6. you can use a floating worm and fish it as a top water or let it suspend under the water and just give it a jerk every few seconds, drives bass nuts... and it can go on and on. i think people get locked into that "guaranteed way to catch fish" thread thinking its the only or best way to fish a t-rig. its just one of the ways. that and people constantly suggesting "slow down" as the first alternative....
  10. summer craw is by far my best producing color
  11. is it legal to move the fish from one body of water to another like that? i was reading an article on here how a guy dumped a bucket of alewife he was using for bait in a lake that didnt have alewives and it severely affected the lake
  12. honestly, not with just thread titles, but with the first post in a thread, you would be surprised how many people dont read it and start giving advice and asking questions about something that was clearly stated in the post. for example some one gives the water temp in their thread, a couple posts later someone is asking what the water temp is lol, i see that so much.
  13. just use some good old fashioned nightcrawlers and you will catch a variety of fish. you can let them sit on the bottom or use a drop shot if you want to get it off the bottom some. of course with that okuma you may want to use cutbait or live bluegill or minnows, stuff that fish are gonna grab and swim off with...
  14. i agree about the covering water thing. fishing is about more than just covering water. what good is covering water if the fish dont want that bait at that time?
  15. i dont believe in search baits. if the fish dont want your "search bait" then you just wasted a bunch of time. i understand you gotta start somewhere, but theres no magic bait to start with thats gonna find you fish just because you label it a search bait. if the fish dont want that spinnerbait you can throw it till youre blue in the face with no bites, yet toss a slow falling worm out there to the same spots and you might get bit and catch fish. you can also say the exact opposite and change up the lures and it be true.
  16. i dont think its the music affecting your fishing. i caught my PB while blasting music on the very dock i was fishing off of
  17. False. There are still common laws protecting the name against any and everyone producing bootleg redskins items.
  18. i dont feel bad one bit if that happens. its fishing, its going to happen some point in time...
  19. are you keeping the line tight when they jump? always keep your line tight and pressure on the fish
  20. honestly, line size isnt going to matter so much as you think, ive caught bass drop shotting 25lb mono. common misconception is a drop shot has to be a finesse light tackle technique but it doesnt, it can be anything you make it...
  21. Washington Redskins Washington Nationals Washington Capitals Washington Wizards North Carolina State Wolfpack for those saying just Giants, you gotta clarify if its the SF Baseball Giants or NY Football Giants
  22. Rendon is constantly on base. it seems like he gets 2 hits a game. Now if the Nats could only get Bryce Harper back and get him going like he should be. So far I think Harper has underachieved though, considering his lofty status when drafted. he has shown the talent, but isnt consistent enough yet
  23. Go Nationals!!! really like that kid Anthony Rendon and a big fan of Ian Desmond too...
  24. ive caught one striper on a lipless crank. it was a 1/2oz red eye shad, chrome and black colored. i use two-piece rods for ease of traveling in my car. the top half of my rod must've worked its way loose. when i casted the whole top of the rod went flying in the lake. i started reeling fast because there were downed trees in the water on the bank i was fishing(one of the few times a year i fish from a boat) and didnt want my rod to get caught in them. got my rod piece back and on the red eye shad was a small 10inch striper.
