why? line last for years if stored properly, chances are you will run out and respool before it goes bad. seems many here are just to paranoid and have no faith in their line, or maybe they just dont realize it because others have pumped their head full of misconceptions...

just use a spinning reel, its easier.

i use 1oz weights on all my drop shots. distance from hook to weight is about 12 - 18 inches

i finally got to do some bass fishing a couple weeks ago. havent had much time to fish at all this year. i did manage to catch 7 bass on my outing, nothing bigger than 1.5 to 2lbs id guess...

it would be awesome if you could get that person to share their story. i do remember reading a post here from someone in florida who said him and a friend were night fishing and something scared them into the middle of a pond and they thought it was a squatch. or maybe you could get permission to share the story with us and keep the person anonymous... i bet more people would if they werent afraid of the ridicule and people thinking theyre crazy, you can already see a bit of it in this thread. anyone want to share some stories and not get ridiculed feel free to PM me, id love to hear them, dont send fake made up stories though...

nope, but im not even sure i believe 100% in bigfoot, though i talk like i do lol. i am totally intrigued by the possibility though and certainly dont discount their existence. i love reading stories of encounters and such. people say it wouldve been discovered by now and recognized as real, but they ignore that new species of animals(including primates) are discovered every year. you should ask your neighbors have they seen or had anything strange going on lately around their homes, but dont just come out and say stuff about bigfoot right away if at all, see what they say first, then explain about the rocks on your porch and the cushion...also, go read the BFRO database of reports for your county and surrounding counties... bears cant throw rocks

went to Halifax County NC this past weekend. boys down there been catching them from ponds on june bug senkos and purple curly tail worms. they been fishing in the mornings. id try a spinnerbait also. i got a friend there who i havent fished with in awhile used to always pull 5 and 6lb bass out of ponds by dead sticking a weightless t-rigged berkley red shad shakey worm. he would prop his rod on a tree or something and leave the bail open, fish the pond with another rod and just watch the red shad worm line until it started moving and run over there. he taught me a lot about fishing and was the first i had ever seen use a drop shot.

i know there is other people on here holding out bigfoot stories for fear of ridicule, i just know it. especially since the crowd is outdoorsmen(and womens) types lol

if youre not pulling my leg, and im not saying you are, all those are signs of bigfoot. rock throwing, twisted trees and branches, and stalking. they are masters of stealth. but will show themselves at times. and if i was anywhere near georgia i might take you up on that. i must admit id probably be scared too if i had an encounter lol. also, you said you put bacon out, the trick is to fry the bacon outside and get the smell going through the air. you should file a report with the BFRO on their website, they will probably send someone out to investigate too if you want. the game cam is a horrible idea. very very few pictures claiming to show bigfoots have come from game cams. they dont like IR light either. like i said earlier a game cam would be avoided by a bigfoot or destroyed by it. nightvision things and thermal imagers are better tools to employ...

this is a good chance for you to learn what is exactly under some of that water you were fishing. take pictures and make mental notes of it...

please share...even if you dont believe in bigfoot or dont think its related...

if you think bigfoot is a possibility, then the last thing you want to do is set up a game camera. how about you leave some curtains and blinds open, and just look for something to be peeking in them, bigfoots are curious. collect the rocks and leave out some apples or PB&J sandwich halves in place of them. bigfoots supposedly like to exchange gifts. during the day explore the woods around your property, look for freshly broken tree limbs, stick structures, bedding areas, and footprints. mostly bigfoots arent known to harm humans, they will let you know if they want you out of the area youre in if its also their area. also, look for animal kills like deer or hog. a deer leg will be all twisted up and broken. you possibly got growled at by a bigfoot, that is so awesome. meanwhile spend some more time outside of your house. do you ever get the feeling of being watched? i say dont set up cameras because if its a bigfoot it likely will avoid it or it will destroy your game cam. listen for tree knocks and rock clacks, also strange howls or sounds. i admit, im obsessed with the possibility of bigfoot, i want in on some of the action lol do you have a dog? it will act funny and cowardly if a bigfoot is around, even the toughest of dogs...

this hate for spinning outfits is just odd to me. just because one prefers bait casting gear doesnt mean you have to hate spinning. both have their places. but i think spinning is much more versatile when it comes down to it. but oh well, if someone wants to limit themselves then so be it...

i get 3-4 fish on my rage toads on average. also, fish will bite them with only one leg.

i know for fact the flying lure works, ive caught bass on them years ago when my uncle had a kit of them. as for some of these other tv lures, apparently they work too, as evident by some here saying theyve had success with them. i'd certainly give them a try, but i think many have been pre-conditioned to think they dont work. someone tries them once or even someone who has never tried them, says theyre trash or gimmicks, and people instantly buy into that...

Jeep Guy, you may want to fill out your profile information so people know where you are located. Then people more local to you can tell you what is working for them in that area at a given time. They can probably also tell you if youre fishing dead water or not. One thing in bass fishing is true for sure, if there are no bass in the water youre fishing then youre not going to catch bass. Just hang in there and keep trying. Fishing requires patience in many instances. also remember, it is called fishing and not catching. seems youve been pretty patient, trying for over a year and not catching anything. you came to the right place for help and to gain knowledge, but you have to put it to use. also, dont let all the new information youve gained here overwhelm or confuse you, because sometimes it can and you start overthinking things. have you literally not caught a single fish? or just a few far and in between?
