Rod And Reel In The Rain
ive fished in the rain plenty of times, but i dont purposely leave them sitting out in the rain. they will dry off and work just fine afterwards. ive seen people dunk their reels purposely, thats not something i do either. plenty of times when night fishing at SML it will rain on and off or a thunderstorm will pass through. i will leave rods out in the rod holders and sit under the roofed part of the dock watching my rods, they get soaked but theyve never suffered because of it. sometimes they get wet from reeling in line and water flying off the line, dew early in the morning and late at night. doesnt really concern me too much

Pond Bass Staying Small?
the bass are stunted because there are too many bass and not enough food. and also because of the crappie. crappie will take over a small pond or lake. crappie and bass compete for food. i would thin out a bunch of bass and a ton of the crappie if the owner will let you. explain to the owner that the fish are stunted and removing a bunch will help them grow bigger and healthier.

T-Rigged Floating Worms?
i t-rig them weightless and they slightly suspend in the water. i will give it a tug and it "slithers" through the water like a snake and then pause and repeat every few seconds. this kills pond fish. you will go from a jerk and pause to your line going sideways from a fish that just cant stand it. i like to do this with a floating 7 inch shakey style worm...

How Much Have U Learned From Bassresource.com
ive learned many things here. the best and probably most useful thing i have learned though is the through the gills hook removal method for gut-hooked fish. before learning that i wouldve either just cut the line or ripped a fishes guts out, not anymore...

Fishing Line Question
some people still use one rod and reel for everything. most of my rods and reels i will use for multiple purposes, doesnt matter to me as ive proven to myself i can catch fish that way. i just cant buy into the technique specific thing, when i buy a rod, and i dont buy expensive rods, i have in mind several things i can use it for. i also agree that a good all around line for a variety of techniques would be 12lb line, ive used it for everything, the only thing that didnt really feel right with it was jigs, but i havent really gotten into jig fishing yet...

Unknown Lure Companies (Mom And Pop, Local, Small Business, Etc.)
i got some 7" floating shakey worms in bubble gum color for christmas one year from a company called Haw River Tackle. i love fishing them t-rigged weightless, they just float through the water real nice and elevated off the bottom. i just give it a jerk and it has tons of action, pause, then give it another jerk, it especially drives pond bass nuts. i really should try and get some more colors of them

Beginner Rods
if youre only casting 7 yards with a zebco 33 i have to ask, what size line do you have on it? you may need smaller line on it to cast better. when i bought my zebco 33 several years ago i bought it as a combo at walmart and it came with a zebco 33 rod. at the time i was just getting back into fishing. if yours came prespooled with line, i would change it immediately. first weekend i had it i hooked into a huge flathead. i was sitting in the back of a docked boat that was on a lift. the fish swam right towards me and under the boat, i thought that little 33 rod would break turns out it was tough as nails, it was bent over past the shape of a U. it pulled the flat head out from under the boat though, after that the fish surfaced, rolled on top of the water several times and that prespooled line snapped. i changed the line the next morning, havent had a breakoff since on any combo or line. i also have to ask, you dont have it on a spinning rod by chance do you? and how heavy are the lures youre throwing that you can only get 7 yards out of them?

bad karma for bending that guys hook because you thought the 5 bluegill they caught and kept were enough. the thought of you doing that still disgusts and sickens me...

Chesapeake Bay Striper
So, my boss invited me fishing on a chartered trip out on the Chesapeake Bay out of Deale, MD this morning. I got up at 3:30am this morning and made the drive to my place of work, which was the meet up spot. there was 9 of us going on this trip. from there we made our way to Deale, MD, arriving at 7am. we loaded up and headed out. the target species were stripers, the method was trolling swimbaits on umbrella rigs. honestly ive never seen anything like the setup used to troll, there were over 20 rods out and nothing got tangled. they set out these 3 wooden boards attached with allthread and they floated it. they were attached to the boat with cables, one on each side. they would drop a line out, let it out some and then hook a clip on the cable and the fishing line and space them out along the cable that way, and when there was a fish on the line easily snapped out of the clip. i honestly wish i wouldve taken a picture. the captain and his mate did a great job. we drew numbers from a hat to set an order for when the fish hit, the limit was 1 fish 28 inches or greater. i drew #4 out of 9. turns out #4 was the lucky number of the day. when my number was up and i finally got bit, it was one of the furthest lines out and also turned out to be the biggest fish of the day. 42 inches long and the only one over 40 inches for the day...

Tampa Bay's Rhonde Barber Retires.
good, now london fletcher will have the current active streak for consecutive games played all to himself provided he makes it to week 1 and plays. in all honesty, ronde barber has had a great career, but im not really a fan of his. its hard for me to like him when i hate his brother tiki barber so much, and i realize theyre not the same person despite being twins.

Abu Cardinal Sx40 Vs. Pflueger Trion 4740
i have a cardinal and a trion. i like both. if i had to choose, i would probably go with the trion. and get whatever size you like. its true the smaller one will weigh less and not wear you out as much casting though. but if you want the bigger one, get the big one.
