Bye Bye Palmer
Kaepernick surprised me, but i had a lot of confidence in Russell Wilson. I thought the guy shouldve been a first round pick all along, he wasnt because of his height. its always been my belief teams were a little too picky when it came to a couple inches of height or a few pounds of weight, as theyre always looking for that "prototypical player". I went to college at NC State and am a fan of their college sports teams. I watched a lot of Russell Wilson at NC State and then at Wisconsin when he transfered there. I had no doubts the guy could play QB at the NFL level. I even told a close friend of mine who brung up the Luck vs RG3 rookie of the year debate in the preseason last year that i thought Russell Wilson had a chance to beat both of them out, and he came dang close. By the end of the season it wasnt Luck vs RG3 for rookie of the year when the media debated it, it was RG3 vs Wilson. If my Redskins didnt make the trade to draft RG3, i wouldve probably been just as satisfied with Russell Wilson...

Solid Hookset Then It Is Gone??
i had a pack of dull hooks once that wouldnt hook nothing no matter how hard i swung, they did pierce the plastics i was using though. could just be some odd coincidence the bass picked up your bait in and odd way preventing them from getting hooked...

"technique Specific" Subforum
this is exactly what i do, even with threads, i open a few of them at a time in new tabs, its an excellent way to browse the forum and helps make browsing it quicker for me. but in his defense, he did mention he was using an ipad and i dont think he has the option to right click and open in new tab. also, if there were a forum for each technique, then people would start wanting subforums for each brand (pflueger, abu garcia, shimano, daiwa, etc)(yamamoto baits, zoom baits, lucky craft, strike king, etc) and things would get way out of hand trying to separate existing threads into these subforums. also, like someone mentioned, you would end up with a bunch of subforums with very little posts in them...

My Poor Envoy
several years ago someone took off from a stop sign squeeling tires and smashed into the front passenger side of my old dodge neon. tried to go through the guys insurance, they even came out and looked over the damage to get an estimate. then referred me to an agent who no longer worked for the guy who hit me insurance company. after a couple voice mails with no return call or hearing nothing, i finally got ahold of someone else in the insurance company, explained everything. a few days later get a letter in the mail saying they arent paying for any of the damages and have dropped the insurance policy for the guy who hit me. turns out, he was living in VA and his car was registered in MD to avoid the taxes, emissions, and inspections. so i contacted my insurance company and explained the entire situation. they took care of me under a part of my policy for being hit by uninsured motorists. they ruled my car totalled, damages worth more than the car. paid me the full amount the valued the car at. told me they would go after the guy who hit my car and his old insurance company to get theirs. and that he would probably get in trouble with the county for back taxes, etc. It was night and day dealing with his insurance company to dealing with mine. my point is, as other people have said in this thread, contact your insurance company asap and explain whats going on. they will get it taken care of for you, and promptly from my experience. i only wish i had contacted my insurance company right away, but it did teach me a lesson. i used the money my insurance company gave me and bought some parts from the junk yard and fixed my car so it atleast looked decent and wasnt all smashed up, i had money left over in my pocket and helped my mom get some tires and a front end alignment on her van... if its not your fault, your insurance company will/should take care of you and go after the other peoples insurance company, and your insurance rates shouldnt go up because of it either...

i got a berkley spring scale from wal-mart myself, on average it puts a 20 inch largemouth around 4-5 lbs. and on average it puts a 25 inch striper around 6.5 lbs...

New Here & Simply Want To Catch A Hawg
someone mentioned live bluegill, too lazy to go back and read, but thats a hell of an idea. catch you a small bluegill, about 3-5 inches, put it on a hook and chunk it out. the sound of it jerking your line struggling to get away will draw in the bass, and only the bigger bass will be able to eat it, the smaller bass will come in but usually wont strike if its too big for them to swallow. this is an excellent method for big pond bass...

"technique Specific" Subforum
i disagree, all that stuff can be found just the way the forum is now. and also, you can search for stuff now without technique specific forums. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/index.php?app=core&module=search&search_in=forums on the search page you can choose which forums to search and you can search live content or archives for different results. its a good tool to familiarize yourself with i just think there are too many forums as it is now...

Tidal Potomac
something doesnt seem right. either your scale or your ruler is severly wrong. or you caught some fish that were once monsters and now severely sick. a 30 inch striper should be well over 3 lbs. and a 28 inch largemouth should be well over 4 lbs

Why Jerry? Romo Signs Extension
as a Redskins fan, im liking this move. i doubt Romo will see all 6 years, but atleast 2-3 for jones pulls the plug on him. but for the meantime i can continue to count on Romo to throw away big games in big moments. There was almost nothing greater than watching the RG3 and the Redskins destroy the Cowboys on Thanksgiving last year, giving Romo his first T-Day loss. and then going on to watch him throw the game away against the Redskins in the Week 17 divisional championship game.

Spincast Reels
i think the notion that spincasting gear is for beginners is ludicrous. i have a shakespeare tiger spincaster that refuses to quit, it casts great and i havent seen a technique i couldnt use it for. ive caught multiple species on it from panfish, catfish, bass, and stripers. i love my spinning gear and the couple baitcasters i have, but most of my pb's come on the lucky spincasting rod and reel. for a $20 combo i expected it to be broke years ago, but nope, its still going strong. the drag is a bit weak, but its only a factor on larger fish. certain reels may have their place based on surroundings and cover you may be fishing, but for the most part a spincaster can do anything and everything a spinning reel and baitcaster can do...

Smallest Bass!
i "hooked" one about 1-2 inches, but it wasnt caught in the mouth. apparently my hook snagged it somehow...

Empty Spools?
you might be better served buying a backup spool for your reels then you can just change the spool on your reel and have multiple lines ready to go on hand. otherwise, ive read some people here put line on used paper towel rolls and stuff. personally im not obsessed with changing lines constantly, when i want to change line i throw the old line away, of course i only fish mono so its not as expensive as braid or fc

How Many Times Have You Taken A Hook To The Body
never really deep or past the barb. aside from occasionally getting jabbed by a hookpoint, which im sure all of has done, i did get a crank bait stuck in my leg once. i was casting to the bank and went too far and got caught in a tree limb. a few easy yanks didnt do anything, my uncle was like ill drive over there and we can get it, i was being hardheaded though and was like "no, just watch out" gave a hard yank and the crankbait comes flying back at me like 300mph and then just stops, i dont hear it hit anything, next thing i know i feel a stinging in my leg. look down and a strike king 6XD is stuck in my shirt, jeans and leg with the front treble, and the rear treble is stuck through my shirt and in the back pocket of my jeans. first thing i did was cut the line to rid myself of the rod and reel being attached. then i went to work with the needle nose pliers. had to get the front one out first since that was in my leg. got it out because it wasnt that deep, but it was a little tricky because i was pulling against the rear treble hooked in my back pocket. got it out of my skin and just ripped it out of my shirt and jeans wit the pliers, then went to rip the back hook out and it didnt want to come, eventually i broke off the treble and got it out, reached in my back pocket and pulled the hook point out. it was getting dark out and i didnt feel like putting a new hook on. what sucked was it was the only bait i had in that color and my only 6XD at the time, and thats what was working for me as i boated a few bass earlier on it. next closest thing i had was a chrome and black Red Eye Shad. i tied that on. well, i was using a two piece rod and a few casts later, for the first time ever, a 2 piece rod flew apart on me while casting, not wanting my rod to get caught in the submerged trees i started reeling it in fast. while im doing so my uncle says dont catch no fish like that, sure enough i get it in and theres a 12 inch striper hooked on my r.e.s. So i get the fish in the boat and he has all three points of one of the trebles hooked in his mouth and they did not want to come out, ended up breaking his jaw, i felt bad about it as it was a floater when i finally got the hook out and put the fish back. called it a night after that, my uncle finally put me on some decent fishing from his boat and i was a comedy of errors all evening...

What Line To Start The Year With?
Sufix Siege in several sizes. I got some nice sized spools of it on sale at the BPS Classic sale for $5 a spool. havent fished it yet, but it already seems better than the trilene xl and big game ive been using. ive never seen a line come of the spool onto the reel that was so straight. there were no big loops or coils, and it never started twisting as i spooled it, never had to flip the spool over to get rid of that twist. it doesnt jump off the reel spool or wrap around the rod tip either...

Empty Spools?
i dont get what exactly youre trying to accomplish here. what do you mean exactly by "surplus lines"?

Replacing The Rod Tip
As DarrenM said, tip replacement kits usually come with a glue stick. the old tip, if not broken off, can be removed with the heat from a lighter as well, heat gun not needed just for future reference. after the tip is removed, i heat up the rod tip a bit with a lighter and apply the glue stick and it melts on to the tip, put new tip on as straight as possible and let the glue dry. if the glue gives you trouble you could just heat up the glue stick directly but it can get messier that way. or you could just use a hot glue gun...

Ain't Work Grand....
i thought you meant a fat sack of something else at first LOL. i was like what kinda company does he work for lol... personally im happy as long as im getting 40 hours a week, if there is overtime to be had in this business you better take it while its there. because next week you might only get 25. thats just how things fluctuate in the printing and mailing business. you might be slammed for a month, working 10-12 hour days + saturdays, then the next month you might not get a full 40 hours a week, so you gotta get it while you can.
