Imagine skipping rocks. now imagine yourself on top of one of the rocks.

Okay so this guy cut me a deal on this glass boat.
The fiberglass is only a problem if non-finished areas of the glass were exposed to water, IE: gash in the hull under the water line that allowed water to permeate the hull.

Lake of the Ozarks
From what I've heard, the clearer water is down by the dam. Upstream it's pretty muddy. The bite has been sporadic and tough.

Team All Star IM10 B/C Rod
I own an Allstar IM-10X 6'8" MH Spinnerbait special and a 6'4" TAS I use as a jerkbait rod. The IM-10X is what they used to call the TAS line. Great rods. I used to own more including a 6'6" mhvy but have upgraded to Titaniums. One of the best rod lines for the buck out there.

Why do people in FL use Hand Cont Trolling Motors on the BOW?
There was a time back in the late 70's - early 80's on the BASS trail when the pro's were switching from foot controlled to hand control. They had the bigfoot on/off switch and crazy extension handles. The reason given was more precise control of the motor. I'm betting it had more to do with the rather flukey nature of cable controls of the day that had a tendency to break at the worst possible moments. I think Jimmy Houston still uses one as does Bill. I got one for awhile in the late 70's and hated it. Sold it and got another foot control.

Nitro/Champion/Stratos/Pro Craft - which to buy??
I would really think twice about buying one of the fish and ski's. Unless you get a 20 footer, those things seriously lack room and storage for fishing. They're usually a compromise boat for someone who has to meet the families needs of family water sports fun and his own fishing needs. As for your question, a properly cared for wood constructed boat can last many, many years. Of your list, you can find a Stratos in a 285 or 295 model in the year vintage you're looking at. Great model with great storage and deck space. In a Champion you're looking at a 184 or 186 model in a 18 1/2 footer. Both take a 175 but will run fine with a 150. These are one of the finest handling, rough water bass boats ever made. As for Nitro, I can't recommend anything that old. The build quality back then was irratic. Their tubular framed trailers had a real problem with rusting out. Good luck.

4th Annual BassResource.com Roadtrip!!!
Shoot, if you're going to make it this late into April you could also choose LOZ in Missouri. Fanatastic spring fishery. Just a thought for another year.

Minn Kota problem
Either the foot pedal is bad (common) or the maximizer circuit in the TM is bad.

4th Annual BassResource.com Roadtrip!!!
I was going to suggest KY or Table Rock, they're both right down the road from me about the same distance (250 miles). Barring unforeseen issues like I faced this year, I will be there. Haven't fished KY in 30 years, the last time I was there I took 2nd in a club Tourney. Just hope it doesn't get windy.....

Re: What is the going rate?
I grab ahold of that 14 footer fast!! I'm looking for one now, 14 foot V. They're tough to find under $500. The last 2 I saw were going for under $300 but I just couldn't get to them fast enough to ****** one of them up.

Color "C" Lector / Combo C Lector ????
The color selector was one of the great gimmicks to come along in bass fishing over the years. Not only did Loren Hill, the inventor, make out like a bandit on that deal but so did several lure manufacturers who created a line of solid colored lures to match the primary colors on it. You find those occasionally on ebay in vintage lures. The premise of the color-C-lektor was simple. It showed what color a bass could see best in whatever water clarity the probe was at. Not what lure a bass would most likely strike, just what they can see best. My friend fell for the spiel and bought one of those when they came out in the mid 80's. We used it extensively over the course of a year. He used lures per the C-Lektor, I didn't. It turns out I caught just as many fish as he did, maybe more. In other words, in a dimly lit room I may see a plate of steamed Okra real good but I'll ignore it and go for the 16 oz steak even though I can't see it as good. Just realize that a bass's ability to see a lure best is not as big a part of the equation as some of the other reasons that triggers a bass to strike a lure. In some instances, a color they may not be able to see as well as the C-Lektor's color of the day, is what will cause the strike. As much as those things cost, I would advise anyone considering buying one to think twice and maybe allocate that much money on something more useful like a Banjo Minnow kit or one of the Roland Martin rocket launcher fishing rods.

This is going to far ( Just Got To Vent )
We're called the Patriot guard Riders. You don't need a Harley, they also use cars (known as cagers). Anyone can participate, it's all about honoring the fallen hero and protecting their families from possible protesters through NON-VIOLENT means. Basically, if protesters show up, they are blocked off from view of the family with American flags and their chants are drowned by the revving of the motorcycle engines. pretty moving and the least we could do for these families. Our dear friends lost their son 2 years ago in Iraq. Not only did the riders show up but some locals had already decided how to handle those guys on their own. Their were no protesters to worry about.

FLW brand rod?
I forgot my worm rod one fishing trip and a buddy let me borrow a 6'6" Walmart FLW rod he had for guide customers. It broke halfway through the day.
