  1. You look like a rooster.
  2. Glad you guys caught fish. It turns out I had a reaction to a mixture of medications that caused my heart rate and BP to go nuts. It was not a good thing I'll tell you. I was on Perry county on Friday, stuck a 6lb 9oz fish and still only stayed 3 hours, I just didn't feel well. I owe Nathan a trip here. Maybe one of dinks Washco tourneys.
  3. If moisture just looks at OSB it's as good as gone. Pickup some minwax helmsman urethane at Walmart. The stuff is tough, is specifically designed for outdoors use and flexs.
  4. Well guys. I called Val earlier and let him no I wasn't coming either. :-/ I had some problems with my blood pressure the past 2 days that needs attention. I've got an appt tomorrow. Catchem up guys, I wish I could be thee.
  5. I'm going fishing today and I've probably got 16 rods in the boat. 12 various baitcasting combos, 2 bass spinning and 2 crappie rods.
  6. Even though Little Dixie is a 10hp/no wake lake, with todays gas prices you could easily drop $20. just kidding.
  7. Chevy sponsors Stewarts WoO and Sprint/midget teams and is also the official car of his racetrack (Eldora). Rumors have GM ready to buy out his 2009 contract from Gibbs. We'll see.
  8. My back seat is still empty Val.
  9. The group running Legend now no longer has ties to Champion. As I understand, the original Legend was a splash of a Hawk boat hull which was a splash of a Viper hull which was all tied to John Storey of Champions yesteryears. When he (Storey) left Champion, he was not allowed to build a deep V, wedge type hull similar to a Champion so he supposedly took a Ranger 480 series boat and made a number of hull mods to it and the Viper was born.
  10. Fishing in Missouri, especially south of I-70, has been absolutely trashed this spring due to the high and muddy water. The fish seem like they're in a shutdown type mode and won't get back into a spawning ritual until things stabilize.
  11. Charger bass boats has a unique livewell system where LW water is circulated through copper tubes down in a cooler and repumped back in. The idea is to fill the cooler section with ice. This works pretty good I'm told when lake waters are warm. I don't think this would've had any effect at Falcon where apparently the fish were so large they were essentially being overcrowded in the livewells. I'd suggest a boat side paper weigh-in like they do with saltwater though that sorta ruins the show aspect of a weigh in. I don't really have an answer.
  12. There hasn't been a new refinery built in ages. The vast amount of refining capacity we have now is limited. Big oil has actually been limiting it's production and creating an artificial shortage in this country. This spring, they're taking them off-line for extended periods for maintenance creating an even tighter supply. They're in no hurry to bring them back on line. Even big oil admits if they built more capacity they could sell it. All this while we're supposedly in the middle of a "War on Terror". It seems to me that this is the angle to go after them. Why are they artificially holding back on the most important economic commodity produced in this country while we're in a war in Iraq, in Afghanistan and world wide against terror?
  13. Tell dink that Rick Clunn used to only take enough money on a tournament to get to the lake, he had to win the money to get himself back home. ;D I'll be at Washco on Friday. Guess I should call him and get a lake update.
  14. I sure wouldn't base a major investment like a bass boat on some write ups in consumer reports. All the major boat manufacturers are building quality boats these days. You need to get out in those 2 boat brands on the water, along with a few more and test drive them to compare. By excluding brands such as Bass Cat, Champion, Skeeter, Stratos, Gambler or Legend is to exclude a whole bunch of boats that may be better suited for your style of fishing. Ride and decide.
  15. By winning, numerous times.
  16. True dat catt but.. Shirley won the National NHRA overall championship not once but a resounding 3 times! Not too mention an AHRA championship along the way. Her name is worthy of mention along the likes of Garlits, Glidden, Force, Prudehome, WJ or Bernstein. BTW, for anyone who hasn't seen it, I strongly suggest watching the movie, "Heart like a wheel". It's the Shirley Muldowney story that's pretty good.
  17. Her stats are OK. Consider that the average IRL race the past 3 1/4 years she's been involved has only had 18 cars start. Of those 18, at least half are usually poorly funded teams, often with ride buying drivers who don't stand a chance of winning. So basically Danica's been running in top flight equipment in those 50 races, first with Rahal/Lettermen racing and now with Andretti/Green racing, and essentially running against only 8-9 cars each week that are capable of beating her. Now the stats don't look so great.
  18. Those front hitches are called Alabama hitches. Instead of backing the boat in you're pushing it.
  19. I'd gladly fish from the back. Doesn't matter to me.
  20. Just bought a tent myself. I'm also looking for a 14 foot semi-V. The days of dragging a large bass boat around just to fish small waters is over for me as well as the 4 trips weekend.
  21. I'm just a itchin to get fishin. I have been out about 3 times in the past 2 months. Between the high, muddy, cold water and some major landscaping projects around the house this weekend is finally the real beginning of my season. Washco on Friday. Little Dixie on Saturday. Backseat available in the boat so I guess I'll just pair up with whatever non-boater shows up.
  22. I don't own one but have fished out of them. Nice boats. Good running. Good storage layout. Stratos has always made nice boats.
  23. Shirley Muldowney might disagree All women in racing today owe a debt of gratitude to Shirley. She was winning races and a championship at a time when the racing world didn't think much of woman in the pit or paddock areas, let alone driving a race car.
  24. She brought a lot of attention to herself by posing for FHM magazine in 2003. She now admits she did it to attract attention and a sponsor. Prior to this win, Danica has never won a race in any sanctioned racing series, major or minor league. To say she's the Anna Kournikova of racing is not far off.
