  1. Good luck Russ. I'd also love to quit. I had a friend use that stuff and he's on about year 2 or 3 smoke free. I'm very interested in the side effects. There's just something scary about messing with receptors in the brain. I know my wife tried quitting with Chantrix and the side effects weren't acceptable. Keep us posted.
  2. I would say your experience today has answered your question.
  3. What's the point in dragging a boat trailer around if you're going to put the boat in the back of the truck?
  4. Those Citica D's you're seeing must be the 200 series. The 100 series is closer size wise to the Extreme reels but they carry less line.
  5. If that's a newer boat with composite construction I'd definitely have it checked out. While composites don't rot like wood they also don't flex like wood either if you strike something. They're known to crack.
  6. Yes. He said he wanted me to help him out on his website. I asked him how he wanted me to help him. He never responded and I refrained from clicking on his link.
  7. Due to spring flooding here in the midwest, this has probably been my worst year fishing in awhile. Too few trips during the prime season mostly due to high and muddy lakes and high gas prices. I did manage to wrangle a 6lb9oz fish this spring as my best fish of the season.
  8. I sold a few Cruxis used. It seemed like a decent reel but it just never caught on and you can get them cheap on ebay. I would expect to see D series Citica's and Curado's very cheap this spring on Ebay as the E series becomes more available. I'm predicting those D reels to become the red-headed, step child in Shimano's history.
  9. I use Luck E Strike sneaky snakes. They've got some colors available that I can't get from anyone else.
  10. Always? An old Terminator Titanium 3/8oz spinnerbait that's been really good to me. A Rat L Trap. Shad or chrome/chart. One worm rod rigged with a 1/8oz bullet weight and a 2/0 wide gap for tossing worms. That's it. Everything else is seasonal or lake dependant.
  11. You're lucky you don't live around me because I would treat you just as bad, probably worse. If you ever buy a reel from me again I'm still going to give you the same great deal but I'll throw a spool of line or some lures in as extra's just to pizz you off even more. You deserve it.
  12. I see a picture of bambi and then a picture of part of a hunter in front of the camera. What kind of sick and twisted blood sports are you guys into there in the great state of Virginny?
  13. Looks a lot like the Montgomery Ward 12 footer I bought. Be careful decking, those are tippy little suckers.
  14. or maybe he would've gone out, choked and caught nothing. God works in mysterious ways.
  15. You should've asked. I could've saved you all these headaches. While I haven't worked in the service department at Best Buy in 2 1/2 years I still have friends there. Their problems with HP are numerous, mostly with getting parts. This is a case where HP got onto the Plasma TV bandwagon and decided to sell these things (I'm pretty sure made in China). As happens in many of these cases, the buyers who made the deal with the Chinese company to build these things with the HP brand on it never bothered to think "What happens when these things break, can we get parts?" Nobody above them thought about that either. Nope, they were only interested in the GM they'd turn on each one sold and celebrated accordingly after inking the deal. They blindly went right off the cliff taking HP and it's customers with them. Had you asked 2 years ago and you were still insistent on purchasing the HP even after I had warned you, I would've strongly urged you to purchase a service contract. That you'll need it. I would've been right. I really do hate that.
  16. Looks like that bottom fish must have had the same Hell's Fire Chili that I ate last Saturday. Do they make Preparation H for fish and how would a fish put the nozzle on and squeeze the tube? :-?
  17. You just said it. Play with the thing with the manual in hand. It's also not a bad idea to troll around in areas where you know what type of bottom is present just to see how that bottom type displays on the screen.
  18. I'll keep an eye out on this side of Missouri. Not many Starcrafts like that around so it should stick out like a sore thumb if it's around these parts.
  19. I've got 6 Revo S reels I've had for a couple years. I've yet to have a problem with them. If you're going to treat your reels the way you say you do, you'd be much better off buying some cheap BPS reels and just throwing them away everytime they break. No reel of quality, regardless of brand, is designed to be abused and keep working over and over.
  20. If you don't think it's illegal why don't you call the stores you're planning to pull this switcheroo on and ask them. "Excuse me. I purchased these rods off of Craigslist and I'd like you to take them back for me for store credit even though I didn't buy them from you. Would that be OK?" If this deal you're trying to pull with these 2 companies is on the up and up I'm sure they'll give you a big or, more than likely get back to us and let us know how the conversation went.
  21. If you get the Rojo, I'd be interested to know how the reel is and performs. It's one of the very few LP reels out there now of quality that has a flippin switch.
  22. As stated, it doesn't take much bending of the eye to make a big difference in how the bait runs. Sometimes it seems like you barely changed the eye position at all and yet the lure locks right in.
  23. Man. Glad I didn't go fishing! We're experiencing what was once the former eyewall of Ike since about 7am. It's a little over an hour now and the wind is gusting to 35mph, torrential rain. Man!
