Michael Waltrip's a CHEAT!!
I'm a fan of OW racing, I watch Nascar on occasion. This year I'll be watching to see how Juan does. On the Toyota deal. Well, I'm not sure I'd really consider Nascar a true legitimate sport anymore anyway, certainly not real racing. They've shown a penchant over the past few years especially, to just make the rules up on the fly. Punishments to cheaters are handled so poorly and unevenly that it's hard to take them seriously when they say they're going to crack down and get tough on this aspect. Heck, it's all just a big show for fun anyway, sorta like WWF wrestting. Real Nascar racing ended years ago. What's funny is the last time Toyota was involved in a cheating scandle it was them on the accusing end. It was CART in 2001 IIRC. Honda had found a creative way to increase airflow into their turbo's and increase pressure by placing a spacer just under the the Plenum. Toyota caught them and cried bloody murder. What goes around comes around. BTW, I can't wait till Honda enters Nascar in a year or so. The fans will just love those two companies slugging it out! ;D

Finesse Baitcasters
A BPS Extreme ETX05 is a pretty small reel that would work. I just got a Revo S for myself, nice reel and somewhat smaller, not sure how it would handle 8lb line though.

Skeeter SL 190 Fish and Ski
I wouldn't touch a Fish and Ski unless it was at least 20'. Anything under that size should be called a Ski n Fish because the fishin side of the equation is seriously compromised as far as rod storage, equipment storage along with front deck space to fish off of.

Help! Bass boat insurance
Boy, call around. Because of the Speed factor of that boat, the Allison will may be a totally different beast than others when it comes to premiums.

Favorite rod brand- vote here:
I've got around 5 or 6 Allstars and around 7 or 8 BPS Extremes and cranking sticks. I like both. I'll probably change my worm rods from the Extremes to Allstar Platinums next year or St Croix Avids. I do have a really nice Quantum Tour PT spinning rod that I really like also. There are lots of nice rods out there these days. I say find one and give it a try. As someone who buys and sells I get to try a lot of them out and they're all well made and very good when you're spending over say $100 for a rod.

Walmart topic again
There's a few FLW products I've been very happy with. I've used their French Fry worms for carolina riggin in the past and had alot of success with them. I think I picked up an FLW jig or two and like those as well. Overall, the FLW stuff isn't a large percentage of the overall sales floor in fishing at my Walmart.

Unplug your trailer lights?
I was an unplugger for years. Decided to switch this past year. I never had a problem.

Best Bait casting reels
Quantum, Shimano, Garcia, Pflueger. Oh and Brownings, The better BPS reels, old Lews BB1N's, etc, etc. Most of the manufacturers are making good equipment these days.

Your thoughts on the new Fish finders?
I haven't seen a need to switch to color personally. The info being produced by a color graph is the same as a BW, just in color. The price just doesn't justify it. I've yet to see where it really made it any easier to read or discern structure.

RODS ON DECK WHILE TRAILERING
If I couldn't get them in the box and I knew I was heading to the lake without stopping I wouldn't have a problem with it. Add in a stop and forget it, I'd put them in the truck.

Shimano at BPS. Oh NO!!!!!!!!
Lets see, customers will show up, used reels in hand to get a discount along with knowing this sale is for a charitable cause. Then they'll find out Shimano is the ONLY reel manufacturer not participating. Shooting oneself in the foot if you ask me. Shimano may like to protect their smaller dealers, nothing wrong with that, but the PR blunder of this is unbelievable. Now customers will get an opportunity to try out the competition and then realize everyone else has caught up to Shimano and are just as good. Too bad for them. Their loss.

Buzzbaits
Yep, tie them to the antennae on the truck, if your truck has one. Also known as "tuning" a Lunker Lure.

Need help with reel.
I would suggest getting the reel schematic out and figuring it out. It's pretty doubtful anyone will be able to blindly tell you what part is in backwards over the internet. Just one suggestion. check to make sure you've got that nylon holder that the spool pinion gear floats on in correctly, it might be backwards.

Chances of US and Iranian conflict?
Exactly, we sold off our ability to independance from the world community years ago. This country could be staggered financially pretty quickly.

Lowe 160W and fumes?
Gas fumes in boats with plastic tanks is not new. Excess fumes is another story.

Chances of US and Iranian conflict?
Excellant point basschaser. We're not attacking a country, we're sending large organized military units up against a half a dozen guys with machine guns and homemade bombs who are hiding in buildings here and there. For every 6 you kill, 6 more pop up somewhere else. They're not coming from anywhere in particular, there's no one place you can attack, bomb, nuke, whatever that will stop the flow or end the will to resist our presence there. This turns into a no win situation in Iraq when the 3 factions of religious groups can't figure out how to coexist with one another without killing each other. We have been leaning towards a democratic rule with the Sunni's having too much control, this is contrary to a Democratic governed body which is supposed to be governed by majority rule. The majority in this case are the ****e, a group with strong ties to the Iranians. A good non-partisan plan was put together to try and end this as sensibly as possible. George Bush would prefer to ignore it rather than face the massive mistakes his administration has made in this affair. I'd have had a lot more respect for the guy if he just admitted he ****** up and then opened himself to a better idea. He hasn't so he has no backing from me on this. I just am sick of the killing. I was with close dear friends last year as they buried their Marine son who lost his life over there. I knew the young man since he was in diapers. I don't want anyone else to have to go through that pain again. Especially since the end game is going to become the train wreck at the end of the tunnel that this one is already panning out to be.

new battery
I've also used the Walmart brands. I get 3-4 years typical out of them which is about norm. The batteries were around $65 apiece for a typical Deep cycle.

scorpion spinnerbait 1970's?
I believe you may be referring to a Bassbuster Scorpion spinnerbait. Those were produced by the Bassbuster lure company of which famous TV angler Virgil Ward and his sons owned. They also produced a Twin spin model along with the Scorpion, I believe it was called the Taratula. That lure would be of the late 60's early 70's vintage easy. Of course, Bassbuster was most famous for the Beetle spin, one of the most fish catchinest lures of all time. The Wards sold Bassbuster off to the Johnson Reel company later on and I believe the spinnerbait line was dropped.

ID #'s on Tracker 170 TX
If you get them in the general vicinity they're not too picky. Unless you give them a reason to be.

Chances of US and Iranian conflict?
I'm not insulting anyone from the Ozarks. My mother was born and raised in Willow Springs, Missouri. I've spent plenty of time on the waters and in the woods in Southern Missouri. But I can tell you this. I wouldn't go wandering in the hills around Bull Shoals or Norfolk lakes without a gun in my hand. There are bonafide radical extremists groups down there that are heavily armed and that's been documented. I won't even get into the commune I know exists up Lick creek on Norfolk lake. Those nut cases ruined our deer hunting down on Corps land we'd been hunting for years. You will see them occasionally sunning themselves, totally nude, like turtles out on logs in the middle of the creek. I was back in a cove on Norfolk fishing close to the MO/Ark border one day, this cove wasn't anywhere near a paved, or even unpaved road. Low and behold, out of the woods came this scraggly, long haired who proceeded to strip and take a bath in the lake. Where this guy came from I have no idea as there wasn't a road or dwelling within miles. I'm sure they're just as afraid of the extremists as anyone else is.

Chances of US and Iranian conflict?
How true. The biggest difference is the three religious factions within Iraq don't get along very well together at all. Yeah, this is gonna work REAL good. :

Chances of US and Iranian conflict?
Perfect example of extremists thinking.
-
Chances of US and Iranian conflict?
There are extremists roaming around in the Ozark hills that are prepared to fight against OUR goverment if need be. Extremism? You bet. It comes in all forms, just the the Right to Lifers who think an abortion clinic doctor has the right to die for taking the life of an unborn. History is full of extremists who took a seed and ran with it the wrong way. You don't kill all the people in a psyche ward just because one was an axe murderer.

Have an idea for bassresource.com!!!
If the book is anything like the speed this site loads anymore, it'll be a slow read!

Chances of US and Iranian conflict?
I'm sorry, but I don't buy that for a second. Not surprising. The Japanese lined up to strap themselves into airplanes with a one way ticket to death in WWII. All in the name of glory to the emporer. They were not Islamics nor did they do it for religious reasons. You're confusing radical extremists with a large populace of people who believe in the Muslim faith. If in fact Muslims were all evil and have nothing but contempt for America and would love nothing better than to see all Americans dead, why aren't they over here killing us off as we speak? This country has quite a few of the Muslim faith and yet the last American terrorists attack on this country performed by an American was by Timothy McVeigh, hardly a Muslim.
