  1. I have a pair of 6 1/2 foot BPS Extreme MH rods. I'm not a real big fan of rods over 6 1/2 foot for anything other than flipping or slingin C-rigs.
  2. I've used a blow dryer on low heat to soften them up and then start peelin from one side. Don't hold the dryer in anyplace to long or too close or on high heat. Works great. Once it's off some of that goo gone works or also plain old WD40. Clean off the area and apply new stickers.
  3. No kidding. I can hear that CD in my boat now everytime I'm taking off to go fishing, I won't shut the motor off till the songs done, I'll probably go right past the place I wanted to fish! ;D
  4. Here's one song suggestion. This guy took the Champion sales video and put his own music to it. Eric Johnsons "Cliffs of Dover" http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?docid=4969801027065742655 OK, yeah, he had the idea first but it's a great song and that album.... er uh......CD has quite a few rocking instrumentals on it. BTW, the girls jumping on trampolines video can be shot anywhere, they don't have to be Texas girls ya know.
  5. Mr. Sense was replaced with Mr. Litigation Lawyer.
  6. Agree. I fished a couple TS rods for a year. A little sluggish for me but that's just me. Stout rod though.
  7. It says in the article that Perry was a pretty modest guy.
  8. Are you guys getting kickbacks from the rod, reel, boat and lure manufacturers?
  9. Somewhere in those two articles they think the shot was taken somewhere near the town square in Helena, Georgia. The town where GP took the fish to have it weighed. BTW, here's a Google earth of Montgomery lake. It's in the middle of the picture just off the river. It's barely visible through all the trees and like the article says, is probably mostly silted in
  10. Another vote for girls jumping on trampolines.
  11. I've got some frenzy cranks but I've never used them. I've got some frenzy firestick minnow jerkbaits and have added to the collection. I've caught fish withem. Powerbait worms are great. While I don't use them specifically, Bass do tend to grab hold of those worms and hold on. Oh, and I tip my crappie jigs with crappie nibbles when the crappie are hitting kinda light. They seem to bite the jig a little more aggresively.
  12. I have a PT spinning rod, med action, that I got for free with a bundle of other Quantum rods I got from a Quantum rep. Amazingly light rods with a really nice feel. They might be a little high, price wise, at the price point they're selling them at but if you get one you certainly won't be disappointed.
  13. For starters, how old are the ones you have now?
  14. Agree completely. I'm quite happy to put people onto productive water including some hotspots but I'm not going to draw pictures for them. Part of the learning process is in the doing and discovery. Besides, I've spent time sinking brushpiles before, it's time consuming. I'll save those for myself or point people in the direction of some of my slightly less productive ones or others I've found along the way. Reminds me of the Florida Panhandle Salt Water guys. With no real offshore natural reefs, just about everything off the coast to fish is manmade structure. Anything from chicken coops to auto bodies and tires. Those things are very expensive to put together and sink. A hurricane can move them to where you can't find them anymore. Those guys are extremely secretive of their numbers. I can't blame them.
  15. The thread title sounds like a conservation plea from this guy
  16. There are always those easily led like sheep, who will believe anything they're told. You guys are made to be Bush cheerleaders.
  17. Remember. The challenge you'll be signing up for will be the next month, right LBH? I believe we determined that it was difficult for some to do the challenges because they were being recieved so late in the month of the actual challenge. I'd suggest start the April challenge signup on the first of March.
  18. Appearing all next week in the lounge at a Holiday Inn in SE Florida, the Comic stylings of Avid. ;D
  19. Pay VERY close attention to those crossmembers on the trailer. Nitro's tubular frame trailers were infamous for rusting from the inside out.
  20. Sadam had built no weapons. We had obliterated his ability to wage war in Gulf war 1. He was a paper tiger who was more fearful of being attacked by Iran in his weakened state than he was in trying to run terrorists camps to attack us. As for his killing his own? The ****es and kurds attempted to overthrow the goverment after Gulf war 1, they were no match for what was left of the Republican guard. They begged for our assistance, we turned our back on them. They were slaughtered and pushed into mass graves. where were we just a few years ago to stop the bloodshed? Pfffttt... This country has long supported dictators just as bad as Hussein or worse. our long standing friendship with the Shah of Iran is history. We supplied him with quite an arsenal at the same time he was killing his own off with death squads. I'd hate to start listing the dictators we've backed, including hussein, over the years that murdered their own. While you're at it. Are you going to ask that we enter Africa and stop the slaughter going on over there, especially in the Sudan? I'm betting you'll fall short of saying our boys need to go over there. If Saddam had no weapons, why couldn't he prove he destroyed them like the UN resolutions required? Why did we find buried MiGs and chemical artillery shells? He was given options before we attacked via UN resolutions and inspection alternatives. He didn't abide by the resolutions... There were terrorists taking refuge in Iraq before the war, we found evidence supporting that fact. Sure, we've backed dictators like the Shah, but why did we do that? Because we didn't want communism to take over their countries. What would have happened if the Soviet Union had taken over Iran? Bad stuff. Communism has killed millions of people and containment was a worthy policy if you ask me....And we are NOT friends with Iran anymore. After the defeat of communism and their pursuance of different goals and adapting to extremist islam, we stopped supporting them. The UN weapons inspectors found no other evidence to support that Iraq had any chemical weapons. The UN is the ones to decide when and where it's time to take military actions in this case and they saw that Hussein was no threat to anyone other than his own people. Again. IRAQ WAS NO IMMEDIATE TO THREAT TO ANY OUTSIDE COUNTRY. THERE IS NO EVIDENCE TO SUPPORT THAT FACT. Until someone can come up with something, anything linking Iraq to 9-11 or something other than some old mustard gas USED DURING THE IRAN/IRAQ WAR WHICH WE WERE COMPLETELY AWARE OF, then I'd say we had plenty of time to push for more sanctions to get Sadam to change his mind for further searches of his country. Old, non-viable mustard gas or plane parts stuck in the sand isn't grounds to invade any country. BTW, we backed the Shah of Iran in order to secure our own listening posts to spy on the Russians. That's no excuse to turn our heads on murder or do are you suggesting that sitting back and watching the Shah murder his own people was OK as long as it kept the communists at bay? That's hypocrisy on your part and pretty sickening. BTW, we're not friends with Iran anymore because we pizzed them off while we sat and turned our heads as the Shah murdered his own people left and right. When they tossed him out on his rear, we stupidly took him in and provided asylum for him. Duh. Talk about adding more gas to a fire.

  22. Iraq and Sadam Husseing were reduced to a paper tiger after Gulf 1. Anyone reading the Dueffler report would understand why Sadam wanted to give the impression he "might" have WMD's. That didn't really argue against anything I said seeing that I didn't mention WMDs in my last post, but anyway....Anyone reading the Duelfer report would also know that Saddam was almost certain to continue persuing WMD programs (including nuclear weapons) if he could get sanctions lifted and therefore posed a potential threat in the future. Almost certain to persue is no reason to start a war. neither is attacking a country to depose an evil dictator. There are plenty of them to go around all over the globe. Look at it this way, had 9-11 never happened, we never would've gone to war. there was no link to terrorism in Iraq concerning 9-11 (which is the game GWB played with the American people) either before or after Sept. 11. Bush played on peoples fears to go in. Now he's possibly created one of the biggest blunders in the history of this country. Perhaps, since there was no immediate need to go to war in Iraq since they didn't really pose an immediate danger, we might have put together a fact finding committee to study Iraq. I'm sure had anyone spent anytime looking at the facts outside of the terrorist hyperbole that was going on at the time, they would've concluded that the intelligence was false, that there was no reason to go to war.

  24. If you want to save people from oppresion, I start with Africa. Far worse atrocities are happening there than in Iraq but what the hey, I'm sure this country would care if they could suddenly discover some substantial oil reserves in the ground. Sadam has been murdering people for years. He was killing his own back during the IRan/Iraq war when we were supporting him. The evil dictator moniker is nothing new, this country has known it for years. In fact many of those mass graves that were found contained the bodies of of ****es and Kurds killed in the overthrow attempt by those groups right after Gulf War 1. Those people needed our help then but we turned a deaf ear. Americans knowledge of the middle east and our history of incompetance over there is astounding. We have rarely ever shown any sort of adeptness at dealing with those people and their conflicts. What's worse is we're over there only because of the oil. If no oil existed, we'd care as much about the Iraqies as we do those people in Africa where entire populations are being exterminated on a daily basis.
