I like Ike and Greg Hackney but will not rate them the best, hard to ever bet against KVD. As some one already posted it's tough to rate like a quarterback ratings in the NFL.

For my fishing and shooting stuff I’ve used for years and years Super Lube Synthetic grease and oil. Good from -40 deg. To + 400 deg. Does not run out all over the place. Good stuff. I can get you the part numbers of you need/want them.

I use to have Reel Majic for a long time. Was easy to find and get. Tried the Reelsnot the other year and have been using it ever since. I like it. The sight oil doesn’t bother me. Over the winter I picked up the coffee scent and gonna use that on my soft plastics as well. I’m sure it won’t hurt.

I believe that. I’m not implying all Berkley Rods are junk either. I’m a pretty big overall fan of Berkley. But those three series of rods surprised me. Not a straight one amongst the batch. My latest rod purchase the other month was a Abu Garcia Winch. That rod is straight as a gut. And in the full scheme of things is not that expensive compared to a few other rods I fish with. Only a couple of week from breaking it out. I’m just trying to say beware. Something that looks “cool” ain’t so great.

I still have a couple of my old Lightning Rods also. I'm probably older than you but there was a time you were all that and a bag of chips if you fished with a Lightning Rod. We are in a time that manufacturers are putting a lot of stuff out to handle the masses. Eye catching graphics, colored tips, guide wraps. Some people won't look past the eye catching features.

I was on a road trip this past weekend to shoot some sporting clays and stopped in a huge Wally World unlike any I’ve seen. Fishing department was pretty good size and bigger than what’s near home but really not all that impressive. You are generally only going to be able to buy a moderately made quality rod there. This is not to knock a Lightning Rod, Shock Rod, CherryWood or an Ugly Stik. All I’ve own or have owned. I had seen first hand a major dissapointment with Berkley Rods. They had these rods there that were Amp, C-Series Crappie and one other that drawing a blank. Every one of those rods had a radical bend one direction or another at the tip. Not a straight one amongst them. That’s not right. Bottom line affect, I don’t know but it’s not right. Granted not expensive rods but I expected more from that company. I know guys mention how even high end rods all have a hook to them. I disagree on that. But, If you were to see these you would think that slight hook to yours was a perfectly straight blank. Expected better from them. Will continue to be a Berkley consumer. No one or no process is perfect. But they consistently all had a radical bend. I have ave grand boys I buy for that why I was even looking.

My lines are my leaders on my spinning reels. I have mono, flouro, and copolomar on my spinning setups. 6#-8# test. My baitcasters are setup slightly different.

I participate in efforts to county youth field day, local trout club youth fishing rodeo, and at my buddies club youth trout derby. Stream side, boat side or whatever you would call it, I pretty much keep to myself.

That's a nice looking jigging/swimbait. Good luck with it. Give us an report when you field test it. I'd also do the 1/2 oz. but would wish it came smaller also. I use something similar but they are called stone cats, they are productive.

I wear prescription glasses. Found the brown polarized to work best for me. Might be different for others.

Congrats. Very well deserved. I'll pick that copy up. I'm a subscription member to In-Fisherman (many, many years). They put out a good product. Wish the would send out the Bass and Catfish copies with the subscription. With the sub. rate being higher of course. Good Fishing.

I’m not sure where I had seen a post back awhile ago but some dudes were complaining/commenting as to how the Havoc SR Pit Boss had an offensive plastic smell. I can somewhat agree but I catch fish not spraying them or by giving them a shot of YUM Garlic spray. Pit Boss is a great plastic bait. Newer version out this year. I like fishing a 4”-5” black worms. Various tails. I have them by different manufacturers. Admittedly I’ve bought some of the Lucky Strike and YUM bargain black worms. Their smell can be a bit strong but they do produce again with or without a spritz of garlic.

So many hooks out there that have the retainer barb on them. And they work. The barb remains unseen and line, hook and bait remain straight. But kudos for thinking around your problem.

If it’s a Pro B.A.S.S or FLW event I can see yielding to the pro guys. It’s a special event. I would think they would not be too abrupt in the way they would approach you because it would put them in the negative limelight also. But if it’s a weekend warrior pro want to be club event just carry on as usual. If you spent all summer worrying about every time you were out and going to be encroached upon you’ll never get any fishing in.

I can’t say I’ve gotten into the you tube stuff other than instructional. Greg with Z is always a good show. One of my top three on MLF also. Unless I’m totally wrong he seems to keep it real and when he struggling he keeps a good disposition.

There are about three guys I’d give the world to fish with and Greg Hackney is one of them. He presents himself well and appears to be a class act.

There is a certain amount of ethics that go along with fishing, hunting, shooting sports etc. And if people don’t quite understand it, they need to be called out. Just the way it is. Now I’m pretty much a laid back guy. Easy going and a decent guy, so I’m told. Can roll with a lot of things. But if I’m interfered with I’ll be in ones face. Some guys need to grow a set of nuts instead of getting stepped on.

Than you tell us what the answer is. I could really care less what anyone does as long as there are not encroaching on me when I'm out. A Local, backyard tournament pro want to be or KVD. I have my space, you have your. I have to deal with tool bags all week at working. I choose not to deal with any on my weekends or my time.

Yes I'm primarily fishing PA outside of a short roadtrips down your way. I love fishing here I'm just implying that I don't fish the Bass Fishing Capitals of the United States. I have a plan in the works to fish Alabama and Tennessee maybe I won't go home.

$44.00 and I’m happy with it. I don’t fish with it exclusively but do like it. I put a Nasci on it. That year at the sportsman show the factory was selling them at 20% off at show. Was a no brained to put that on it. At $25.00 that great. Have fun and good luck. I can’t find a lot of rod choices in my area. Always a job trying to find what I want. Sucks but I usually make out ok.

I don’t live or fish a bass Mecca out here in Penna., but I drop-shot fish quite a bit. I’m catching smaller fish for the most part. I’ve been fortunate to catch some nice ones but where I’m catching small ones on days a lot of guys are not catching anything. My nicer fish always come to me in the fall. Soft plastics, cranking or spinnerbaits.

Dude that’s not my quote. Just happened to agree with it. No big deal. I really do care all that much what Scott Martian pushes or anyone else. Most guys here I would think are not soft a puddy and can think for themselves. Everything I own is paid for by myself. I don’t have a boat full or garage full of freebies.

Yeah, I’m not gonna be blasting anyone or really products too much on here. I just do my own thing but we all can smell something BS sometime.
