  1. Got slammed with torrential rains for a 8-10 hr. period last night into early am. Might make it a bit interesting.
  2. PA Trout Season kicks of Saturday. It really truly never goes all the way out because there are always Special Reg’s areas to catch and release and fly and artificial lure areas. My real roots go back a long time ago as a kid with trouts. Never lost any desire to fish for them. Native, wild and stocked. Depends to where I go. Fly, live bait and spinner fish. Never really got into the PowerBait scene. Didn’t set the world on fire winter trout fishing. Caught some but really had a problem finding what I was after. Had too much ice to deal with also. If y’all get out, good luck.
  3. I’ve been able to find a few machine parts recently on eBay. I hate eBay. I don’t like the lack of direct contact, and overall process. I recently had a guy that was not willing to ship something faster when I was gonna compensate him for doing so. Wanted 2nd day if possible. I talked the guy into doing it. In return all he wanted was a gift certificate to Applebees for him and his old lady. I’m still shaking my head on that one. Applebees suck to boot. im still shaking my head as to how that yo-yo even had the part I needed. The heck with that or where it came from. I’m up and going and that’s all I care about.
  4. I hear that man. Some real simple stuff I’m pulling my hair out on. But I’m at the point now I can only do so much. A lot of after market parts are out of where factory parts come from. I didn’t create the situation. But it plays on your mind some when all you want to do is get something up and running.
  5. Have them sent you the other one. Compare them both and send one back on their dime that you don’t like. They’ll do it.
  6. A real shame that is but that percentage is minimal. These replies are appreciated. Admittedly I’m out of tune with this. Thank you man. Never would have put all those type of numbers together.
  7. Yes you are 100% correct. I’m thinking along the lines more of hands on labor types. But maybe they fall in that line also. This I have to admit. Being one who never lost day one over the Covid Pandemic, I’m ignorant to the whole situation. Never got a real feel of what it done to most. A lot of who could get theirselves setup at home did. I know how it effected my inter circle of people. But that’s about it.
  8. I’m electro mechanical equipment repair. Never got put out with Covid. Products related to oil and gas so energy sector became essential. Parts and repair parts was going real well with only short delays little to no stock issues but since this past September I’m seeing it more and more. A few small simple replacement parts are holding up a few things big time. Only so much you can do. Source factory and aftermarket. Or make it if it is something that can be machined. My biggest thing to try to wrap my head around is the worker shortage. Or why there even is one. When things started to open back up, where the dudes go. I never got any stimulus so I don’t know how great it was. But in the years time I don’t see the whole put out workforce opt to become Doctors and lawyers in this short time. They have to pulled unemployment bennies if your called back. IDK, seem strange. But I do think this pandemic will have messed with the workforce for a time to come.
  9. Grubs, tubes, weightless worms and stick baits.
  10. Good fishing to you. I’ll be right there with you on May 27th. I’m pulling the plug, I’ve had enough. I’ll be 63 also, maybe a bit early, but I’m shot. I want to work at home on stuff. Maybe I finally fish when I want to vs. when I can. Congrats, have fun.
  11. No. Would not want the stress. Only way I’d be interested is if I owned my own business and the cost of fishing could be offset or intertwine into the business. Or the losses for that matter. There no “oh well it a tuff bite today, that’s ok I still had fun”. Those dudes have to produce to make any money. Back many moons ago, I club fished some in the Red Man Circuit. Being green as grass I did learn a lot. Fished with some good guys. But there is stress to it. Sometimes the harder you try to fish the tuffer the fishing gets.
  12. I don’t think I have any mental issues. My wife would tell you differently. Now admittedly I know I can be anal, bullheaded and have my way of thinking, but I am an open person and really a likable person. Will do anything for anyone. I have to agree with KOZ on the TV, news, COVID, Ukraine, politics and social media. Not necessary. You can get yourself overwhelmed with it all. But certainly stay informed. You know there are certain things in life that you can control and there things you can’t. I like the things I can control. Fishing is something you can control. But I can see people spinning themselves into the ground these days. But stay strong and fight the BS off. I’ve said many of time that I’m not the most religious guy going. I use that fish time to make a connection. I’m out, by myself, at peace with myself and the world. My job is stressful, I have the same family issues as anyone else, I feel inflation like everyone else. Don’t let the BS eat you. Don’t let it kill you. Shake all the baggage off. Free yourself. You can do it. I’m retiring shortly. Couple months. Handful of weeks. My wife is not retiring yet. I’m going out a bit early. Anyway, my dog “Jack” died in November of 1998. I could not replace him because I didn’t want to put all the pressure on my wife to come home and check up on him/her. I work to far from home to stop in at lunch time. I’ve been telling myself for years the day I retire I’ll have a new buddy. It will happen. Animal therapy will keep any stress level down. Let’s go fishing.
  13. A nice 19-20” river smallie slamming a Chug Bug or Pop-R breaking the surface what appears to be 2 or 3 feet. But maybe actually was only 18”. But I’m sticking to the 2 or 3 feet for now.
  14. Over the years I’ve had a few times of the unexpected Smallie catch while fishing for catfish with cut shrimp. They were nice fish. Not dinks or runts. I generally don’t fish for catfish. Admittedly I don’t think I know how to fish for them properly.
  15. A great bait they are. From the 70’s to this day would rank it equal to the Rapalas I fish. It has been one heck of a producer on the river for Smallies. By what I’m seeing out there the duplicates I’d like to have on a few patterns are done and long gone. Present patterns are not what I’m after. How effective they are I’m not questioning or doubting that. Unless I don’t know how to navigate Cabela’s website. In a “A” Series they carry only (4) patterns. Something new, never been out. Again not questioning the effectiveness. I have seen some being clearanced off. At a few site. Not sure what that means. I’ll post a pic of some great river Smallie patterns. There will be many guys have never seen.
  16. I know what you are saying, but Bombers place today is certainly not that of the 70’s 80’s or even that of early 90’s. Patterns from that time are non existent. These are not special patterns, bass patterns. Pretty basic stuff. There is no one or willing to bet very few on here using Bomber cranks more the me. And to all that can pull off getting them I’m glad for you. Very tuff find in my area. Tuff find for me to find what I’m after on line also. Looking for some duplicate spare.
  17. I’ve always said all Wally worlds are not created equal.
  18. Bottom line is pattern availability of 6, 7 and 8 a’s isn’t SQUAT to what it use to be. Anyone throwing them long enough would know that.
  19. I’m not looking to give any away. I’m looking for more of them. Can’t buy what I can’t find.
  20. Bomber Baits is setting the fishing world on fire right now? Where?
  21. If I can’t get a few classic patterns, they have had plenty over the years, they are pretty dead to me. If they bought Bomber to deliver all the more they currently do, has to be a loosing venture.
  22. I know they are not what they use to be. In a nose dove for years. Lurenet will buy a business only to run it into the ground. Can’t buy a thing. Basic stuff as spares can’t be had. I looks like they have no desire to compete with others like SPRO, 6th Sense or Lucky Craft. Fold.
  23. If you don’t have either buy one of each and do the comparison. Thanks for the heads up. I fished OG-6 last season and picked up some fish on it. Gonna keep fishing it. All season bait for me. I’ll pick up a chick magnet when I get around some. Hopefully they have a couple Shad choices.
  24. Not trying to be out of line or funny. Where have you been? I hope you are feeling and doing ok. You stir up some good smallie stuff. Good luck with chasing those Smallies around your river.
  25. I use them, on some things. Does it help? I don’t know. Does it hurt? I don’t think so. PowerWorms, PowerBaits and Gulp Worms I put nothing on. Crazy as it sounds I think River Smallies prefer garlic but I sure it’s just coincidence. And I use an Anise scent as well. Works, don’t works, might work…….I’ve used it for so long now that it’s on the boat and if the feeling moves me I but some on. This might sound crazy (yes it is crazy), but what I thinking about doing and trying is picking up some anchovy paste (ground up anchovy and oil). Comes in a tube like tooth paste. Rub it in to some bugs and beavers and see how it works. In another recent post I responded about it being a smart*** but I might try it. Worse case it may draw channel cats or bullheads. Last season I messed around with some coffee scent on one of my favorite worms a Zoom UTail. I would say it was not a good experiment. They did not get bit. Factory out of the bag no scent added no problem. There is probably a true science to good reputable fish attractants manufacturing.
