Soft Swimbaits
Have not river fished them yet. For the most part has been weightless in and around that lake grass. A true swim bait jig head I do not have. But Sliders and round heads I have in 1/0, 2/0 and 3/0 sizes.

Soft Swimbaits
I could try to step up my hook size. Probably with a 4/0 Grammy EWG. Little Dipper at best is 3.3-3.5” length.

Soft Swimbaits
I saw local that the Twist Lock Lights were weighted but were in the larger hook sizes. TW might have a weighted 3/0. Little dipper seem to match up good to the 3/0.

Soft Swimbaits
Really just talking off the top of my head. This is a bait I have to keep throwing more and more. For the most part been fishing it weightless on Owner SB hooks with some success on top and in front and sides of grass lines. Might try to weight it some with swim bait rigs or possibly with Sliders jigs. Maybe fish it more in open water or around rock structure. May need to expand on style also. Have only been throwing the Little Dipper. Decent bait which does not lack in action. Just have to keep forcing myself to throw it more and more.

Regular and Mod Fast Tapers
I agree. You might want to look at the Veritas Winch rods. They are tapered for treble hooked, moderate actions. They will cover the weights your are fishing. Most likely MH.

Clay Shooting, Sporting Clays
I know you said at one time you had a brother who is in greater Philly area. Thought he was lucky enough to pull off a job like that. LHVSC is pretty top notch. It is steep $$$, we don’t shoot there too often but that is where we were yesterday. A treat to ourselves. They run this place like a big time business. But we have a few clubs fairly local that are smaller time Sporting Clays and they have great targets and course setups.

LHVSC in Coplay, PA ? I’ll pm you.

Clay Shooting, Sporting Clays
Was wondering if any of you guys shoot the different discipline’s of clay sports. Nice weather break we had yesterday but was pretty windy. Made the targets more interesting. 100 sporting targets over 17 stations. The group I shoot with will shoot them all. Trap, Sporting, 5-Stand, Wobble, Wildcat and skeet. Most of area shooters stick to a single discipline. Not hard to find a club that’s open for shooting at some point during the week. I’ll shoot year round but find clay shooting to be more of a late fall and through the winter thing for me. Winter North East Weather can get pretty brutal. But we experience some exceptional day also. Not hard to find a winter trap league to shoot in. Covid has effected the clubhouse atmosphere, not quite what it was, but coming back. Shooter attendance has be somewhat down. Shotshells are hard to get out my way. Would be tough to walk into Wally World and get target shells. I’ve reloaded my own what seem like for a lifetime. But some component parts have been tough to get. Hopefully that will start to turn around. Though there might be some guys on here that like to grind clay up also. Hard to believe yesterday I was shooting in a L/S tee shirt, today it’s below freezing and a steady snow.

A bit of the new wave sound from the ‘80. Some of that sound I use to like.

Yamamoto Kut Tail Worm Shortage
Thanks for the heads up. They (TW) has had little to nothing for quite some time. It looks like they are getting more in. That may be a good sign that more are coming. I want to believe that. What I need is not in yet. I’m gonna stay positive about it. I could be wrong and I hope I’m right I don’t think they are discontinuing them. That could be a sale on the ones they have. They have more on their sight today than they did Monday. I’ve been keeping a close eye. I realize it’s just a simple worm but I never hesitate to throw them. T-rig or Wacky. I really only use 3 basic colors and have been striking out finding what I want. The BS must be shipping, delivery, mfg., stock issues. The cut tail worm is not the big huge rave in the fishing world. Can’t be. Good fishing. I’m sort of finding the same thing with some Reactions innovations stuff I want also.

Reel for dedicated crankbait rod
Brought the combo inside and I must correct myself. The ratio is 5.4:1.

Curly tail is just that. Cut tail resembled a diamond shape.

Reel for dedicated crankbait rod
I know this will not mean much to you and many on here but back a couple of years ago I took a chance of basically buying something (rod & reel) for the most part untouched and not knowing what the combo was gonna feel like. I generally won’t do that. I was itching for a new crankbait combo was gonna dedicate it to throwing nothing but Strike King on it and all the BS that goes along with it. I took the chance and bought the Abu Garcia REVO Winch, under 5:1 ratio. I love the thing. Have two now. I matched these up with Abu Garcia Veritas Winch casting rods. Moderate actions. Could not be happier. At TW sale this was not a bank breaking purchase. Bought one setup at the end of each year. I have other setups that have yielded plenty of fish. The Abu setup are great, have a bit different of a feel. Nothing for the worse. Good choice on my part.

Yamamoto Kut Tail Worm Shortage
Last season I picked up the BPS Gr. Pump. / Pearl. I took the chance because it looked good for smallies. It did work well on the river. I might do more of the BPS Cuts, I might just hold out to get what I want. BPS has their own color scheme of things going on. Not sure how much I want to get involved with them. I’m not hard up and I can hang in there for it to turn around. It’s just unreal that something as simple as a rubber worm is now an issue. What do I know.

Yamamoto Kut Tail Worm Shortage
We are in a crazy time right now. Things will turn around. I'm not hardup, just wanted to put more on a current order.

Yamamoto Kut Tail Worm Shortage
Yep, Yamamoto Kut Tails and computer chips for automotive. Kut Tails setting in a sea box beyond the harbor? Maybe possibly in a warehouse not being released until they get repackaged?

What time is it ?
I get to be a head case when we start loosing sun light but it is coming back stronger every day now. I didn’t get the blues real bad this year. Fished some winter trout but not having a stellar winter at it. Usually is pretty decent off-season for them. Local fishing for them. Got some hunting in. Have stuff at home to work on all the time. Have gotten a few of those items done. Then there’s shooting sporting clays and trap. That always turns that frown upside down. Temps don’t bother me too bad, the wind is the killer.

“Pink”
My “pink” care package is coming together pretty good. I’m getting a bit amped up to use it. Be a while yet to get on water. I’ll post a pic of it when I get everything. Gonna keep my baits and terminal in a Mafia bag or HD ziploc, won’t be any hunting when I go to use it. Not sure of how I’m gonna approach pink. Maybe mix it in on any particular day, maybe start a day off with it or probably have a day(s) using nothing but pink. I’m thinking the nothing but pink is the way for me to approach it. Will force me to fish it harder. May have to offload my regular baits. I foreseen that to happen. But I’m ok with that. I’ve had to do that with other baits over the years. Admittedly I can get my head case moments.

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
Real nice thanks for sharing that. You hear this and that about how smallies will hit anything. I’m not sure I believe that but am not interested in starting that debate. But as far as my river smallie fishing goes, I’ve caught river smallies on every Bandit CB I own. I have a nice collection of them (not a collection that sets on a shelf). I’d bought certain patterns not having that warm and fuzzy feeling only for them to be good producers. I’m not gonna buy and use any old crankbait but if it looks like it might catch a river smallie for me I’ll give it a shot.

I would not bet against a 2 1/2 or 3 lb. smallie crushing that. 4# test on a 6 foot light spinning outfit will be a nice fight for you guys. I realize crappie is your intent.

Recent mono quality
I use the heck out of the 6# and 8# Super Natural. Just wish I could buy it in bigger spools and cheaper savings.
