  1. Look up "dead sticking" on You Tube or this Forum and give it a try.
  2. Same thing happened to my double secret pond. We used to pull five-pounders out of that pond on a regular basis for years. Now, to get a three-pounder is a blessing. The farmer passed away three years ago and his brothers and nephews no longer do any pond maintenance and have oppened the far shallow end to the cows. So the food supply died off and the bass could not sustain themselves leaving only the dinks. It is still fun to catch the dinks and try new lures but one must realize that the days of the big ones are over.
  3. Hope you have better luck in Tennessee then we are having in Virginia.
  4. Please note that the Richmond Fishing Expo scheduled for the weekend of January 21, 22 and 23 has been cancelled due to the impending snow storm. Green Top will be having their sale, as far as I understand, at their location. Be safe!
  5. Seems he was targeted by an insideer at the storage facility or someone who followed him when he was returning the boat. Storage facilities ususally have cameras and if so, maybe the perks were captured on film. As a word to our readers, if you are storing your boat in a public storage area, how about considering a very loud car alarm hidden on the boat that would activate if the alarm was touched or knocked over? A thief has three enemies: light, sound, and time. A screaming alarm will get some attention and who knows, may someone will call the local law enforcement when they hear it go off.
  6. Good. And let State continue to be bad into 2022! I don't know about that. Tennessee is making strides and they could be a contender for the SEC East before we know it. OU has a very strong program which will now be attracting the 4 and 5 star players from across the nation to show off their skills in the SEC for both Texas and OU. Packed to the hills stadiums when OU comes to town which translates into $$$$$. ADs like this. Why not. Plus the fact that being in the SEC will attract the top players in the country to OU and to Texas.
  7. Not that I know. Nothing was mentioned about it. Will wait until they are officially in the SEC unless they beat Bamasux. Then they are my friends.
  8. Yes, they love the money the football program generates as you stated above. A few years ago LSU published their sports financials in 2020and here is a part of the article: The Advocate reported that ticket sales alone was $36 million during the 2018-19 season, which accounted for 40% of the football revenue. In that season, LSU was at full capacity and played seven games so each game made $5.14 million in ticket sales on a per average basis. This season (2020), LSU's number of home games was reduced from seven to five and the allowed capacity reduced to 25%. At 25% of that $5.14 million average from the 2018-19 season, if LSU were at full capacity in every game in 2020, ticket sales would average $1.3 million per game. This does not account for food, beverage and merchandise sales. And this is why Texas and Oklahoma bolted for the SEC when they could to fill the last two slots - they would make a lot of money from the conference in revenue sharing and when they played the big SEC teams at home. What is sad is that the coaches who won the National Titles were let go for what ever reasons or excuses. River 46, it does not matter if OU or Texas makes the BCS playoffs or not. It is money. Look at filling up their stadiums for games withe the big SEC powerhouses as opposed to the weaker teams, along with the TV revenue the games will generate. Follow the money!
  9. I also looked at the Google map and I saw where the road intersects with the corner of the pond. The location is about 40-minutes from son's house in Dagsboro, so driving to the pond to fish should be easy. Thanks a million for the tip. Sincerely appreciate it. Sam
  10. Thanks, Allen. Will look up Trap Pond when we travel to Dagsboro this summer. Appreciate the feed back. Happy New Year! Sam
  11. Did you know that Florida and UCF finally agreed to a home-away-home series? I think it starts in 2032 but you can double check it. UCF wants to play with the big boys and they always have a good team. Add in Malzahn and you have a formiable opponent. LSU defeated the Knights 40-32 on January 1, 2020 in the Fiesta Bowl, stopping the UCF win streak. And LSU had Joe Burrows at quarterback that year. Should be a good game tonight and of course, I have to pull for the Gators as an SEC team.
  12. The Southeastern Conference placed 13 of its 14 members in bowl games, with Vandy being the only team left out. Texas A&M had to withdraw from the Gator Bowl due to their Wuhan virus situation, leaving 12 SEC teams to compete this bowl season and giving Wake Forest a great shot at an 11-win season if they defeat the Big Ten's Rutgers Scarlet Knights. Let us know how your favorite conference and team is doing regarding the bowl games and who do you like for the National Championship. I will vote for Alabama to win it all by defeating Michigan after Michigan upsets Georgia. Then, it could be Alabama over Georgia again, which is what was not supposed to happen with the NCAA National Championship game after LSU and Alabama played in the past and the NCAA wanted to avoid having two of the same conference teams in the finals. Of course, as long as the trophy ends up in the SEC it can't get better than that! Be sure to watch the last bowl game, the Texas Bowl, featuring the powerful LSU Fighting Tigers and the hapless Kansas State Wildcats on January 4th. Only problem is that LSU's top draft choices are going to sit this one out and another bunch of guys are going to take a pass on the game. This is probably why the Las Vegas oddsmakers have K-State as a 3.5 point favorite after the game opened with LSU being a 2.5 point favorite. We have some fun college games, along with some excellent NFL contests so we can set up two 8-foot tables in our den, front room, or man's cave and organize your plastics and hard baits as you watch the games! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to All! Sam

And different drug policies, too. Some schools within the conferences have different drug policies. So when a player sits out; is suspended; or transfers you would be surprised at how many have an illegal drug problem. It is officially called "a personal problem."

Right now Bamasux has only one healthy running back. I am sure Kirby and his defensive staff have some tricks up their sleeves with the rush and blitz packages. Bamasux should have lost to LSU and Auburn and they had their hands full of Arkansas before pulling that one out. All three games came at the end of the season which is not a good omen. I see Jawja winning the game and who knows, maybe Kirby will run up the score.
  20. Last year while fishing a club tournament on Lake Gaston we ventured into a creek to fish the boat houses and docks. We came across a guy working on a boat in a boat house and just asked him where the fish were. And he gave us some suggestions. I kept looking at the guy as for some reason, I had seen him before. So I asked him what he did and I think I remember seeing him somewhere. He smiled and introduced himself as Rick Morris, an Elite fisherman on the BASS circuit! Yes, you have no idea who you will be running into while fishing.

Billy is a good guy and a good recruiter. I was told that Mullen was toxic when recruiting and he turned off the kid 'parents.

Good question. Have not heard Lane mentioned in any conversations about any other school opening. He has it made at Ole Miss and I believe he will stay there unless he receives a very large offer to temp him away from The Grove. Any change for Lane will be a lateral one within the upper echelons of college football. Now with that said, coaches, ADs, and agents never mentioned Kelly going to LSU and it was a very big surprise when he was announced as LSU's coach. Only suggestion about Kelly was when an individual in the athletic office was asked about Pickle and Riley and the individual said "don't follow the smoke." We now know what was meant by that statement.

Good point but I have no idea. Have not heard or read about any buyout.
