Good sense of humor. You could have had a lot of fun with the misguided emails and caused some trouble. Have fun!

Anyone try magnet fishing??
Yes. Ended up with some old pipe and a bunch of nails. Then the magnet got stuck on the metal beam holding up the dock and I had to have a guy in a bass boat pull it off for me. Have not used it since.

I love scrambled eggs
Try this when cooking yoru scrambled eggs: 1. Add a little water to the frying pan and get it warm. 2. Add about a tablespoon, or more, of butter to the pan and let it get warm and mix with the water. 3. Add eggs, turn up the heat to medium or less, stir the eggs in the water/butter mixture, and you will have excellent results. 4. Keep stirring the eggs until they are the consistency you like. 5. Add cheese of your choice before removing the eggs to your plate.

Greetings from Virginia! ( Yorktown/Area )
Suggest you get the GMCO maps of the Historic Tidal James River and the Chickahominy River and Lake and go have some fun. Just remember that both rivers become dangerous when there is wind or a thunderstorm so be careful of the weather when you venture out. Welcome to the Forum.

Ever get very sick on a fishing trip?
No, never sick. But I have been known to throw my fish back, trailer the boat, and go home during a tournament when it got in the upper 90s with no clouds and I was getting exhausted. Glad they found the problem and you are on the road to a full recovery.

College World Series
Good games. Nice to see State finally win a team national championship. I must say that there are some outstanding ball players on the CWS teams this year and throughout the SEC, ACC, and in the state of Texas.

Old injury flaired up…
How did you get injured again? If at work, did you report the injury to your supervisor immediately to get Work Comp benefits? If you are self-employed, do you have Workers' Compensation insurance? What you penned sounds like you may have injured your rib cage, which is very painful. See your doctor and then follow doctor's advice. Make sure in the future you are covered by Workers Compensation insurance which is better than health insurance plans.

Another tidal waterway, The Chickahominy River
Prefer the river. Get the tide times and try to fish an outgoing tide. Lots of creeks you can fish along with the grasses in the main river. If there is an easterly wind you will not catch much, if anything. If we do not have rain you will be able to catch crabs up to the cut through by River's Rest as the salt water moves into the river. Go across the Historic James River to Upper Chippoaks and fish those cypress trees. I suggest you get a GMCO Map of the Chick River and note all the places you can fish. And you can launch from Route 5 or Rock-A-Hock by the dam. Good luck and have fun.

Need Advice on Tow Rope
On Sunday, June 20, 2021, I got my riding tractor stuck on a stump in my side yard. I secured my boat's towing rope to the tractor and my Jeep to pull the Cub Cadet off the stump and the rope broke off when I started to pull. Seems the rope, that is over 12 years old, had some weak spots that I was not aware. I need your input on what replacement rope I need to get and the length to tow other boaters, and my boat, should the need arise. I want one that has the hooks on each end. Thanks for your input. Appreciate your help.

Trailer Tires
I noticed one of my trailer tires kept losing pressure so I went to Discount Tire, a great store by Costco in Midlothian, Virginia, to have them look the tire over and repair the slow leak. A guy with a sensational name who works at the store, Sam, looked at the tire in question and told me that it was 12 years old, showed me a chunk out of the side of the tread, and it was dry rotting in one specific area. It seems both trailer tires were 12 years old and both were getting ready to give up the ship. Towing the boat 70 MPH on the local interstates plus the county highways at 60 MPH in the dark heading to the ramp or in heavy traffic coming home hit me like a ton of bricks. Either tire could have blown out and flipped the boat and SUV on the highway. So somebody was looking after me. I got two new Goodyear trailer tires and am now ready to rock and roll. So guys and gals, check the age of your tires; check for damage; check for excessive tread usage; and check for dry rot, which is hard to see on a good day to avoid problems with your boat trailer. In other words, take your trailer to a tire retailer and have them look over your trailer tires. And I thought all was OK with the trailer tires. Avoided a disaster yesterday and you need to do the same.

The Vols look good and we will be yelling and screaming for them like we do for the Fighting Tigers. Looking for a Vandy-Tennessee final.

Potomac River
Nitro, I like the Potomac, although you have to watch the weather closely, especially if wind is in the forecast. From Aquia to Mattawoman; from Hope Springs up Aquia Creek; over to Potomac Creek; at the mouth of Aquia Creek; and all of the other places inbetween you can have success, the Potomac is one fantastic fishery. Sorry I did not see your post sooner to warn you that Hope Springs ramp is undergoing some work and it is not user friendly. And going to Leeslylvania where you have to wait for them to open the gate and putting up with all that traffic on Route 1 and I-95 is no fun. But, once you are on the water it is great. Good luck and please let us know how you do in your club tournament.

What’s wrong with me! No motivation to go fishing?
Keeper, I tell you what is interesting about your post: it happens to all of us sooner or later. Getting up at 3:00 AM to make it to the ramp for sunrise is no fun. Fighting the crazies at the ramp at the end of your day also can pour cold water on fishing. But...once you are on the water; once you see how beautiful Mother Nature can be; once you see the water and all of the targets; once you breath in some fresh air; once you catch your first fish; you will understand that pushing yourself out of the door and onto the water is worth every second. So do yourself a favor: get up and get out. Now! Get out of the house. Get your leash and go for a walk; and then get that kayak ready to rock and roll. You will be rejuviated once you get that first bite. Have fun and post pics of your catches.

I found this in the hall of my school!
Bass Slayer, be aware! Be very careful. Very, very careful. The hook you found was put there for you to find it and then follow it along to other items like sinkers, beads, other hooks, expensive crankbaits, RICOs, G. Loomis rods, Steetz reels, Lowrance electronics, Phoenix bass boats and on and on until it happens...The girl who is interested in you will jump out from hiding, grab you, take off all of your clothes and tell everyone you are now engaged. So be very careful out there. And remember, once you get to the electronics don't pick up any fishing gear you find on the hallway floor at your high school. They are watching you. ?

Dangerous Situation - Tell Your Wife or Girl Friend
This happened to a friend of one of my LSU friends and it is scary. Please read and share with others. This is a true story. Last night I was downtown stopped at a stoplight. Suddenly the vehicle in front of me began backing up.... I blared my horn but before I could do anything else the vehicle tapped the front end of my car. I stayed where I was. The man quickly jumped out of his car and approached my window. Not taking any risk, I cracked it just enough to talk to him. I asked for his insurance which he quickly flashed to me and said, “no damage come look.” I firmly said, “No I need a copy of your insurance.” The man just kept saying, “come out and look there’s no damage.” I stayed put!! I asked once more for his insurance assuring him that I would call the cops and then took a picture of his license plate. Next thing I knew the man darted off, got into his car and drove away. All I could think was that I had just gotten into a hit and run and hoped there really wasn’t any damage— it didn’t occur to me that this was an attempt to do so much more. I called my husband to tell him what happened and ask for advice. I explained the situation and that I hadn’t got out yet to look when he said, “Don’t get out and go somewhere well lit.” I didn’t understand but I listened. After he drove away, I got out and looked sure enough there was no damage. My husband explained that this was likely a scheme to try to get me out of the car to possibly take me. I was instantly horrified at the idea!! He asked me if the guy was in a van—he was. I’m sharing this to help make others aware of this scheme. Had I gotten out of the car when he asked me to, I might not be here writing this post. PLEASE, PLEASE be cautious as this could happen to anyone. In other scenarios there could be another car behind you for a more aggressive attempt to take you or even multiple men getting out at once to approach your car. If you are at all unsure of a situation CALL THE POLICE. I STILL DO NOT KNOW WHY I DIDNT GET OUT OF THE CAR BUT I’M REALIZING NOW THAT NOT DOING SO MAY HAVE SAVED MY LIFE. I have reported the license plate/description of the vehicle to the police. This post was written to be shared, to help warn others about a real life situation that happened/could happen to anyone!!!
