fishandwhistleVA Posted June 15, 2021 Posted June 15, 2021 Hey everybody. Nice to meet you all. I've browsed the forum a few times over the last few years but now that we'll be living on the Water, I figured I best start soaking up as much knowledge and information as possible! Despite growing up surrounded by Water I didn't do a lot Fishing growing up. I've gone out with friends a few times and really enjoyed it. My Wife and I will be building a home just off the York/Poquoson river this year and looking forward to fishing from the shore, wading and from the Kayak. Do not own a boat at this time but that will could change...if I win the lottery I'm a total beginner, apologies in advance for the stupid questions I will inevitably be asking and/or terms I will get mixed up! 2 Quote
gunsinger Posted June 15, 2021 Posted June 15, 2021 Welcome. There's a lot of knowledgeable people on this forum. I'm sure one of them will greet you ? Enjoy your new home and all that entails. I'm envious. I'd love to be able to step down to the bank and fish whenever the urge struck me. 1 Quote

Super User Sam Posted July 4, 2021 Super User Posted July 4, 2021 Suggest you get the GMCO maps of the Historic Tidal James River and the Chickahominy River and Lake and go have some fun. Just remember that both rivers become dangerous when there is wind or a thunderstorm so be careful of the weather when you venture out. Welcome to the Forum. Quote

JScott757 Posted August 10, 2021 Posted August 10, 2021 Welcome ! From Portsmouth, Va. I have a Jon boat but my motor needs to be worked on. Lots of ponds and lakes to hit up on foot though in your area. Once I get my boat going again I’ll be looking for people to fish with. Stay safe Quote
