I am fighting vertigo. Docs first thought it was from the ear silica; then Menier's disease; now back to not having a clue. The first ENT I went to put a shot of some medicine in my ear which seemed to help for a while. Episodes are less frequent now as I have cut out salt and caffeine which seem to jump start the problem. I keep Meclizine tablets with me at all times and pop one when I feel a spell coming on. I go to a great doc who has a balance and hearing clinic and he told me to keep doing what I am doing and to come back in August. He ran the air and water tests again and found my % of difference between the two tests to be 22% with 20% being normal. So he is stumped at what is going on. He told me that if it does not subside he could do surgery but he wanted to wait to see what happens. Maybe one day you can open your own practice in KC at that mall that outlines itself with Christmas lights. Sorry, forgot the name of it. Congrats again on your MD degree. Proud of your accomplishment.

Did you know The Beatles opened one of his concerts in Europe? Here is what I found out about Little Richard and The Beatles. "In 1962, concert promoter Don Arden persuaded Little Richard to tour Europe after telling him his records were still selling well there even though they were not in the United States. Having heard of Richard's European tour, Brian Epstein, manager of the Beatles, asked Arden to allow the band to open for Richard on some tour dates, to which he agreed. The first show for which the Beatles opened was at New Brighton's Tower Ballroom that October. During this time, Richard advised the group on how to perform his songs and taught Paul McCartney his distinctive vocalizations. In the fall of 1963, Richard agreed to rescue a sagging tour featuring The Everly Brothers, Bo Diddley and the Rolling Stones. At the end of that tour, Richard was given his own television special for Granada Television titled The Little Richard Spectacular." He also was considered one of the rock and roll pioneers. Yep. You are correct. Our bass club members with boats know of them. The Historic James has mud flats that we have to watch for, too.

I would send a letter to Charlie Baker telling him your story and asking him to pass your request to the individual who could change the law regarding registering trailers.

A Virginia high school football player who had offers from various colleges (William and Mary for one) died in Lake Anna after their boat hit a sandbar and overturned. Three other boys with him were rescued by a resident who witnessed the accident and took his boat out to rescue them. Authorities said they were not wearing a PFD. Yes, all should be open. Google them to see their locations and if there is a number you can call to find out if the are open, their hours, and if there is any ramp fee for launching a kayak. I think you will find there are no fees for the Historic James River ramps so head out Robious Road into Powhatan and then look for the brown ramp sign along the road about a mile or two after you cross 288. The road is Watkins Landing Road. Just follow the road to its end and park. As for Robious Landing, same thing. Robious Road to the traffic light by James River High School intersection and go down to the park. Use WAZE as your guide to the high school and then keep on driving for about a quarter mile to the park. Flatwater is free, too, and is used by many kayakers. Fantastic fishing between Boshers' Dam and the Z-Dam. Have fun; wear your PDF; and be safe.

Yep, that's Lake Rooty. Used to be a fun place to fish but since it was "improved" it seems the bass are not as active or plentiful as in the past.

Tom, does the FlexStep actually help you get in and out of the boat easier than crawling over the transom and stepping on the trailer's fender step?

Thank you for sharing the news. Professional bass fisherman, for the most part, will speak to us "rookies" and treat us in a friendly and professional manner. Only once have I had a negative encounter with a bass pro. He was having a bad tournament and was in a foul mood and I understood that. He was nasty to everyone around him. I now watch his videos and Facebook posts and he is back to his normal, loving self. Glad you made the introduction and shared your story.

I have no problem not telling anyone where I caught bass. In fact, I will make up a place if the individual is persistent in wanting to know. So I add my vote to the "no, you were not out of line" tally.

Colors become popular for two reasons: 1. The pros say they used a specific color to win or do well in a tournament. 2. Guys are catching bass with a specific color that then is leaked out into the community. Now, what basic colors work best where? Who knows? But in Virginia, as a sample, I offer the following; Potomac River Blue Chickahominy River Blue Historic James Green Pumpkin Mattaponi River Pink or Bubblegum One Fish Anna Watermelon Everywhere in VA Junebug The guys will have their favorites which will add "color" to this thread. Why the colors above? Lake Rooty behind the office buildings on the other side of Nuchols Road in Innsbrook. At one time it was a great place to fish but since they drained it down low and cleaned it up a number of years ago I have not heard of anyone catching anything. The other large ponds are on Cox Road in Innsbrook and I have no idea if there are fish in them. But you can give them a try. Wyndham subdivision allows only residents to fish but you can take a chance and fish it until they ask you to leave, if they do.
