Yes, both Shakespear and Ugly Stick. Both are a lot of fun and I catch a lot of fish using them on ponds and when just fishing to have fun.

Hey Bassfisherone, And welcome to the greatest place on the web for bass fishing. Please do as Road Warrior suggests for starters. It is always best to cast upstream and let your bait travel downstream and into the bass' faces. Now, with said, you can also do some other presentations, but before you do, are you sure there are any fish in the creek? And if so, are they the fish you want to fish for? As Crestliner2008 stated, what is in the creek for food and what is the topography of the creek? You may want to throw a colorful Zoom worm, like a pink or white trick worm or finesse worm to see if they can see it and pick it up. Otherwise, a watermealon or watermealon seed may work. And don't forget to throw some topwaters just to see if the bass are in the creek early in the morning or late in the evening. A buzzbait or a popping/walking bait may provoke some strikes. A Mann's Minus One can be an option as it runs right below the surface and makes a lot of vibrations. If nothing works, switch over to a small white or white and gray Roostertail or a small white grub on a small 1/62 jig head and four (4) pound test line. Everything will strike these baits if they are in the water. Just give some baits a try and see what is in the creek and let us know what you catch or find out.

If you use that rig you better catch some fish because everyone will be watching you.

Fun rig and you can fish it deep, shallow or inbetween. Be sure to use a light worm on a small hook. Use a ROUND split-shot. That is, you do not want the tag end sticking out - the end you put your pliers on to open it. You want the totally round split-shots so you will not pick up the bottom slop or get it snagged often. And you can use various split-shot weights to get the rig deeper or use it shallow. Read the article and....have fun.

Went to a Washington Redskins preseason game last year and saw the starters for the first half and then it was the subs. Fun time being that close to the game and seeing the players on the bench but the guys are right, try to score some tickets to a real NFL game. Maybe the Packers will play the 49ers during the season. But if not and you want to see the Pack in person, then go. Do yourself a favor and attend the preseason game and have a fun time. You will not regret it. I saw Brett Farve four years ago against the Deadskins and he was super. I also saw Michael Vick play the Deadskins before he went to jail. It is really great when you can see the players and see what they do on the sidelines and how the coaches react and see the players avoid the coaches when on the sidelines. Or see the punter/kicker have no interest in the game and just sit there waiting to go in to kick the ball. You see a lot that you do not see on TV so take binoculars. And bring money as everything is expensive. Have a fun time at the game.

My barber told me that he has ticks all over his yard and that they are very heavy this year. He lives in Powhatan County, which is close to where I live. So far I have removed two ticks from granddog and that's all but thanks for the warning and tip on how to remove them. I hate ticks. They get on my clothes and then in the car and as you are driving around you will find one crawling on your neck or in your hair. Yuch.

By the way, before I forget, when you throw a topwater, like a buzzbait, and the bass misses it, throw out a Senko to the same spot and the bass may grab it. Also, there is nothing in the world like seeing your line move when the bass picks up the Senko. One of the greatest sights in the world.

Senkos are an excellent bait choice. You will have a fun time selecting the size and colors of the various stick bait manufacturers. I love the Wacky Rig but fishing them Texas Rigged is a lot of fun, too. Glad you liked them and have fun fishing them.

When a large retailer opens a sporting goods store they have completed their research on the best available location and the most attractive types of products to carry. After the store is open for one-year, the manager will make changes based on each department's sales. So should soccer sales be greater than paintball sales, the soccer area will grow and the paintball section will be reduced. Same is true with the fishing section. First, what types of fishing equipment is selling...freshwater, saltwater or fly? Are there any specific baits or tackle that are selling best, such as plastics, catfish bait, combos, cranks, hooks, sinkers, etc.? This will be based on the type of fishing in your area, fresh or saltwater. The Peckers by my house has reduced the size of its fishing department. The Peckers five miles down the road still has a good fishing department but I have noticed that the hunting goods are slowly but surely moving into the fishing stock's area, thus reducing the fishing products square footage. This is why some of the guys on this forum thought Wal-Mart was going out of the fishing business when a number of Wal-Mart sporting goods departments cut back on their fishing stock. Those store managers wanted the space to stock it with other items that were selling better than some of the fishing products. With that said, you need to take the Bait Monkey with you when the new Peckers opens so you can buy out the store!!!!

My entire boat is a panic box when nothing is biting. I will change up biats and presentations and colors and depth just to see what will work. I know that a Roostertail or a small white grub on a small jig head can get the bluegill and bream bite thus showing me what is in the water so I can change my baits, accordingly. Sometimes I will throw a topwater. Dead Sticking, Split-Shotting and Wacky Senkos usually produce some strikes.

Chris, No kidding about I-95 between Richmond and DC. And that stretch of I-95 is getting worse with the tractor-trailers and the people traveling to and from DC who have no idea of how to drive on an interstate. However, Jersey has a great reputation that no state, other than maybe Louisiana, can match with "getting rid of people" and shopping carts. Have not tried them but may do so. I do remember getting a 100 on my report on leaches in high school. I was the only person in my science class to get a 100 as I made my presentation funny and had live leaches. The science teacher had to go back on active duty for a few months and the substitute gave me an "A" for the six-week report period as he had nothing to base anyone's grades on other than for our report grades in the grade book.. Only 100 I ever got in high school. So those leaches may still bring me, and you, good luck.

LSU scored three touchdowns to defeat the pesky University of California at Irvine Anteaters in Baton Rouge last night to advance to the College World Series, 21-7. Coming off a disappointing loss to the Anteaters that snapped the Fighting Tigers 23 game winning streak, the LSU boys never gave up scoring 35 runs in three games to take the final two matches, 9 to 7 and 21 to 7. LSU has five Baseball National Championships and their advancement to the CWS is a surprise to baseball pundits. The team was not expected to win the SEC West nor the SEC nor make the CWS playoffs. The people in Omaha are bracing for the crazy LSU fans arrival and all the good food and music they bring. Hey, its going to be a fun time in Omaha this weekend so if you are in the area, pass up fishing and take in the CWS atmosphere and eat some good Louisiana food. Just don't ask what it is or what is in it.

Did you check out their web site? I wonder if there is any announcement of future new store locations. Did you contact the county's planning department? They would know. And so would your Board of Supervisors representative so give him/her a phone call. If they don't know, ask them to find out. If you have a stock broker then ask him to look it up on their financial site for future expansion plans. Now, if all that fails, just sit back and see what happens.
