  1. I would agree with t mike about the guide good advice. Also stay right here on this site and read and ask and you will learn much. Welcome to the forum and the never ending learning experiance of fishing even the pros still learn something new they didn't know about fishing time to time
  2. I would ask your friend to double check to be on the safe side
  3. [quote Yall must be misunderstanding me. I DO NOT KEEP BASS OUT OF PUBLIC LAKES. I only keep the ones that come out of my personal ponds or a friends pond with his permission. I have posted before and I believe that some might have read past it so I will say it again, I do not keep bass from public lakes.
  4. I don't mind if someone keeps the the legal amount and size of the fish they catch. It's the occasional morons you run across here and there that keep any size and as many as they can catch that irritates me.
  5. Get a LC gunfish or a Pop R you can also try some buzzbaits, some Horny toads might work well also. I like to use a ribbion tail grub rigged weightless and retreive it across the top of the water the tail kind of has a buzzbait action. Some Lc sammys are good to use as well. I wouldn't use a snap but that is my preferance I think it hurts the action. Also try a spinner bait burn it close to the top where the blades make a wake on the water that works well too
  6. I don't eat my fish I catch. C&R only. But have heard and I might be wrong that bigger fish don't taste good and that if your going to eat any eat the smaller fish. You don't want to take the larger fish out of whatever water your fishing they are too benifical to it. JMO
  7. It really dosen't surprise me about what some companys will do to sell products. I was looking through the latest bassmaster and last months issue and happened to notice a picture of preston clark in a ad for berkley. I'm sure that berkley does sponser preston clark or they might have just picked him up after his santee cooper win but anyway in the ad he was wearing a berkley hat that if my memory serves me correctly he wasn't wearing during any of the tournaments. You could see that it was I guess for lack of better words photo shopped it didn't look real. I don't know maybe I'm wrong maybe he was wearing a berkley hat during the tournaments but I really don't think he was. It just irritates me to see that. Does anyone else think those pictures look fake
  8. Gentleman we live in a age where family values are pretty much a thing of the past. Gone are the days of The Andy Griffith show It's all about the money as stated before what makes more. I totally agree with Rattlenrouge on this on
  9. What state other than you own would you like to fish in the most. And why would you want to fish there. Mine would be tennesee because I have a few good memorys of fishing there on lake chicamaugua (spelling) years ago catching bass and crappie with my family one of the best times I ever had, plus it was a beutiful lake I hope to go there agin in a few years
  10. I live in N ky and I would be interested pm me
  11. I really can't go along with him snagging it on purpose I can see why it was snagged when your looking down and don't see your bait and you feel something at the end of our rod the only thing left to assume is it took the bait and I don't get to do much bed fishing but I hear it is commen for this to happen alot. Now what went though his mind after words I don't know Personally if he knew it was illegal fish it should have never been hauled into shore to begin with, that sealed the deal with me that he was going to try to pass it off legaly caught but realized people had seen the catch. But really beleve he didn't snag it on purpose Or atleast I hope he didn't.
  12. No wonder you was so cautious, if she knew you spent that much, you would probally be divorced. I would be too. but you only live once so what the hell
  13. If you don't want to tell thats fine just don't respond to the question I don't have a problem with it I will applogize I didn't realize it would offend some but I guess it does. I didn't ask for social security numbers just an average on what you might spend on fishing equip, tackle. But I also do see your point too some. Being probally pretty well known as you are I guess there are some people that know you by your real name not just your screen name and understand why you wouldn't want to do it
  14. The only thing I question is they went to this lake so much to catch a potential world record and I would guess they probally know everything there is to know about this lake and surroundings. Why did they not know there was certified scales on the dock that they launch from or was standing on when the picture was taken. Even if the fish was foul hooked I would alteast like to seen a official weight before turning it loose. But back to avid's statement I will give it a yes it is more than likely the biggest Bass that us in our lifetimes have seen landed. Personally I wish the thing was caught in the mouth So finally for atleast a little while we could have a world record without all the fuss over it being legit or not
  15. Can someone post a pic for those of us who still haven't gotten our issue of bassmaster
  16. I was kinda inspired by Lbh's senko addication post that got me to thinking about addictions. Mine is I buy something that pertains to fishing everyweek some times 2 or 3 times a week. It might only be a pack of hooks or it could be 5 or 6 new baits. I'm guessing since last august I have spent approx $900 to $1200 on fishing gear and tackle. I'm guessing that by december 31 of this year I will spend at least $1000 more as I plan on adding a couple more rods and reels into the lineup, and obviously some more baits here and there. I was just curious to how much some of you guys spend on Gear and tackle. I'm sure there are some here that blow me out of the water and some that don't, but I'm not competing to see who spends more I was thinking that what I spend is maybe around average for most anglers. What amount would you consider average. Thats what I'm looking for.
  17. You wouldn't be human if you didn't tick someone off every once and a while. No big deal I will give you advice if I can anytime you need it. Just ask
  18. Then what does the the oppisite of legally mean then When some one says they can drive a dump truck just not legally that means they can drive one and not have a CDl or they can drive one illegally because they don't have a CDL It was left to assume despite the original question that he did not have a license because of the way it was worded. While the original question was not answered it would have been if the question was worded better ie Is it worse or better to get busted by the cops or game warden if someone didn't have a license. If it was properly worded there would be no debate now
  19. Or you could just press on the link that I kindly provided you And welcome ask anything you want there will always be someone who is more than willing to help
  20. http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1121527643 hope this helps
  21. Why would he need to applogize he wasn't even there and had nothing to do with it. If you took the time to read the article you would have noticed that admiral yamamoto died during the war. I bought some wave worms tiki sticks on sale a couple weeks and it was a complete waste of money while they catch a few fish the Gycb are more consistant and catch far more fish for me. I did note that some of the wave sticks out of the same package were really inconsistant some would sink fast while others would float and sink very very slow.
  22. In florida if you fish a private pond 20acres or less and is not connected to public waters in any way you do not need a license so you are legal if you fall under that catagory. I guess laws from state to state differ here in ky If you own the the pond you don't need one regardless of its size, but if you fish anywhere other than your own property you are required to have a license. But I would still get one anyway it does help the DNR. If your going to fish in club events You will need one because more than likely they will be fishing public waters and one is required for that. In the event you do get caught without one on public waters I let you read it here it is http://www.floridafisheries.com/faqs/index.html#penalty-ans
  23. That might work in some places but I wouldn't try here in ky or you might get some lead thrown your way Not Good. The best way to approach it is get permission if you just go without approval and the owner does show up it will more than likely ruin your chances to fish there agin. And it is considered trespassing so he could have you charged with it so the best way is the just get permission JMO
