Unfortinitly some people don't care about the rules or how they are ruining it for others. Look at all the private places to fish and hunt that have been cut off due to someones else's disrespect by throwing down trash and other acts of stupidity. And I wish all states could afford to put more game wardens in the feild to catch some idiots like the ones that have been described in the other posts. But what can you do but just call and hope they get caught. Maybe in the instance of this old man since he seems to be a regular moron you can take a video camera with you and film him breaking the rules or laws. I don't know who you could give it to but if the police or game warden aren't interested the local news might be then maybe the problem would get its due atten. I don't understand why they didn't confascate his equip and issue tickets or just throw him in jail. I remember back about 15 years ago my dad took me and my brother fishing at a state owned approx 2 acre lake. The property was part of a game reserve and the game wardens offices were upon the property and one actually lived on the property. Anyways the game warden where in and out all the time, well we were sitting there fishing away when 3 guys come walking down to the lake carrying a couple of coolers and a whole bunch of rod and reels. Well in one cooler they had beer which the sign at the parking lot say's no achohol. And in the other the idiots had undersized bass and yellow belly catfish which were dead and they threw them into the water. Which is a big no no in a state run lake. They started fishing and about five min after they threw there line out guess who shows up. If you haven't guessed it was the game warden two of them. Well the game warden made there way around to the idiots Needless to say they didn't have a license between the three of them. The game wardens were like drill sargents and just hammered them on every charge they could get them for. Made them fish out one of the yellow belly catfish they threw in the lake, I guess for evidence. Confascated all there equip. The game warden walked over to us and checked my dads license and appologized for the incident that was happening. My dad thanked them for doing a good job and trying to keep the lake a decent place to fish We left shortly after that but the game wardens where still putting the hammer on them. I'm sure they went to jail or I hope they did

I wanted a 10 in 06 but could only manage one 7 pounder and several 4's and a few 5's. For 07 I will leave it at 10

I like BASS myself There is no Bassmaster classic tour and I beleve there is no legends tour there all from the elite seris and you have to qaulify to fish the classic and the legends event

To me how much anyone spends on something that makes them happy is ok. I think the main point that I am trying to get is this. Do you ever feel that you have overspent on something and start thinking that maybe you could have gotten something just as suffecient for your needs but for lesser money. I bought a new curado last year and I like it, it does a great job but after looking at a citica I start thinking that really theres not hardly any differance in the two reels other than price. Thats really what I was after

I Just don't see this reel being that good for that amount of money I don't have a problem shelling out the money for a good reel and theres nothing wrong with anyone buying one if thats what they like but I just see this as a way for shimano to make more money for something that was already good to begin with. Seriously whats next a reel that reels in the fish for you, come on This will touch a nerve with some maybe but this reel is way overkill but thats only my opinion and thats all nothing aginst spending money on what you like. Maybe I'm wrong but I doubt it

I don't think anyone so far has given a wrong answer because if we all thought alike then this forum would not be as fun as it is. It really dosen't matter what you use or how much you spend and that has come clear to me now. It's all in what you like. It's a passion and we all are welcome to spend as much or as less as we want in the pursuit of our passion But I still think and no offense to anyone who uses one that a ditgital brake control on a baitcaster is a little much. I mean seriously shimano is really trying to make a buck on that Electronics and water Don't mix

Crig and topwater, more c rig then anything it's just a awsome technique. Really fun when rig up a ten inch worm and toss out there then the catch rate goes down but the sizes of the ones you do catch go up

Well one way you can help offset your expenses if your open to it is save copper and cash it in. I know it sounds corny but with copper selling a $2.10 a pound it soon adds up. For instance here is a good example at work they have added on to the building and had new phone, elec and alarm wires installled these guys where just throwing all there scrap in a pile to be thrown away that is untill I asked if I could have it. Well I saved and still saveing it untill I have enough to get what I want which is a new reel that happens to be a chronarch. Heres the deal though I have gift cards and plenty enough money to just go and buy it and the other things I want. But I figure by doing it this way I can get even more by using the money I get from copper I can get the reel and then use my money for a new rod or what have you. As it is right know I'm guessing I have enough to cover all but $50 dollars of the reels cost in copper. It might sound stupid to some but I want everyone to keep thinking that ecspeacily the ones who just throw it away, By the way if anyone does do it always ask even if you know it's getting thrown away. With copper thefts on the rise it's always best to ask

What I might pay for something is obviously different from what you would pay. Well there is a very slight chance you might see Bill Lowen use them. I buy alot of tackle from a local tackle store that sponsers him and a couple shows on the outdoor channel. Anyways they have a pro team given there not as popular as Bill Lowen and at that neither is he yet, but they all take turns when not fishing to work in the store. I was getting some fat Ika's one day and one of the guys working said you actually catch fish with them. Long story short after I told him how to rig them and fish them he was taking bags of various colors of them of the shelf for himself for a upcoming tourney. Rw started a post on price points of rods and reels which got me to thinking of where does the price your paying for qaulity and just overpaying for it start and stop. For example I think that once you get over the $100 dollar range for a reel your actually starting to get qaulity reels, So I'm takeing a guess a opinion really that $100 would be the starting point of paying for qaulity and would run up to around $400 before I would consider it overkill I'm taking a stab here at the rods too I'm going to say that $150 would be a good starting point for qaulity could possably be a little lower. A stopping point for amount spent on rods I really don't have a guess for. I think what really got me thinking was looking through my new BPS catalog at chronarchs and happend to look over at the next page and seeing the shimano Calais 4X8 DC at $649.99 which has a digital brake control system, which personally I can't see the point in that but none the less I' think thats overkill for myself but might not be for others. I'm just curious to what some of you guys think. I'm not a expert by far I'm just looking for your thoughts.
