Got a good deal on Fat Ika's
If your interested I can give you the web address of the tackle shop where I got them. They want to get rid of alot and they said make a offer. They still have alot of IKA's left. They might sell you all of them and ship them to you for a reasonable offer. I'm going tommorow and getting more. The Baitmonkey is working overtime this weekend, already bought a new reel and going back for more, NO FEAR

Amazeing
I was at a local tackle show today and got to play around with a Diawa Zillion some well needless to say they where sold out at the show so I went to Bps and pick one up. I like my shimano's but let me tell you the zillion is just a great real. I have fallen in love. Absoulutly amazeing. I actually like it better than my new chronarch 100b. Speaking of Shimano and I still like them, at my BPS they had all of them on the bottom shelf where you could barely see them. Used to be the top shelf but when I asked why and I knew what the answer would be. The fishing dept manager said it was because they didn't want to participate in the reel trade in. According to him BPS thinks that shimano will lose out on about 2 million for not being in the reel trade in.
- BASS or FLW?

Is there a limit to cost and tech of rods & reels?
I personally won't go over $500 on a combo myself

Gamma line?
I use it for almost everything. I use it for C rigging with Gamma florocarbon as a leader. I use it for cranks, wormin. I haven't had no problems with it and have been using for over a year now I highly recommend it

Bought some Fat Ika's at a local tackle store who is have a tackle show tommorow and had a huge clearance section and the Ika's where among some of the stuff. Bought them for $4.41 a bag. The clearance doesn't actually start untill tommorow but they gave me the discount anyway. I'll probally buy more tommorow

Dicks sporting goods
I don't shop a dicks anymore. There is a boat/tackle store called Plapps Pro outdoors where I get all my baits and hooks etc. I buy my rod and reels a BPS which might stop soon as I will probally be making all my purchaces from the above mentioned. What I like about them is the guys working in the store really fish tournaments or really are hardcore weekend anglers. Quite a few pros from the elite seris stop in there. They sponser Bill Lowen and he will actually work in the tackle dept at times, I was told he would be there this weekend so I plan on stocking up on some supplys and advice. The only way I would go to dicks agin is if they where going out of business and everything was on clearance.

Citica vs Curado (100D's)
I bought a Citica and I own a curado but not the 100d. I have the 200dhsv. I don't think the citica is a bad reel but I was so used to my curado that it just didn't feel right for some reason. I took the citica back and replaced it with a Chronarch 100B and it took a little getting used to itself. Tackle tour Claims that the curado 100d is just a heavier version of the Chronarch. I know the curado 100d dosen't have HEG and the chronarch does and I think the citica does to. I'm not sure how big of a difference that makes. If your used to higher end reels then I don't think you will care for the citica as much not that its a bad reel cause its not. It' s just not as smooth. But is definatly is a good reel for guy on a budget.

ESPN'S GRADE ON CLASIC COVERAGE...
Honestly It sucked. I'm so glad I have DVR so I didn't have to watch the crap I didn't want to see. It dosen't surprise me though. Do any of you guys honestly beleve that ESPN actually give a rats rear end that were not happy with there coverage. It's all about the money to them why would they care. There more interested in the tv adds, and sponsers. Hence the whole reason they had them wrap there boats they are trying to milk Bass for every ounce of money they can and when they finally run it into the ground then they will throw it away and move on to the next one. I really don't see this as being that surprising. The coverage sucked, has sucked for the past couple of years and not just the classic coverage but the whole season. It's going to get worse.

Horny Toads
Another tip here. Wait until you feel the fish before setting the hook don't try setting as soon as it blows up on it wait a couple seconds. Also if one slaps at it, Kill the bait stop reeling the bass will think it stunned it and come back for it agin

Carolina Rig Ideas
The c rig is my favorite technique. I started using it alot last year. One of my favorite baits is a 10 inch culprit ribbon tail worm. You won't catch numbers using that bait but when bit it will be a nice size fish. One of my favorite colors is tequila sunrise. But I like to stay with darker colors most of the time. My General rule is colder water longer leader, warmer water shorter leader. I rarely go over a 3 ft leader. I like a slow and steady retrieve myself I like to keep the bait moving. In colder temps I go extra slow and will even let it soak for a while. Watch for a bite while the bait is on the fall it's fairly common to get bit on the way down. I still have alot to learn about the C rig myself and I found the easiest way to learn it is do it. and keep doing it. Also try using a shallow running crank bait or a bait that suspends on the C rig it works great.

Broken rod question
Since your the second owner I doubt you will be able to return it and also depends on what brand it is. More than likely I would start saving up for a new one.

Having trouble casting my baitcaster
Being able to hit anything with your spinning rod is something your used to doing. Your not used to a baitcaster. You need time and practice and it will come. Practice Practice Practice

A Question of Fishing Ethics
Crappie and Catfishermen I'm sorry to say not as many of them share the C&R philosphy as most Bass fisherman. If it's legal then I say it's there right but if it's not I would turn them in, in a heartbeat. It has been my experiance and this isn't say all are like that but most guys I have seen fishing for catfish are the ones who are responsable for the huge pile of garbage and beer cans we find all to often on the banks. So why dosesn't it surprise me them using bass as bait.

i truley do not like chatterbaits
KB I notice you live in IN, I live in Ky and I haven't had alot of success with the chatterbait as well I have caught four or five on it and thats it. I have noticed that it seems to work very well in the south but the further north I don't see alot of posts on it. If you pay atten alot of the guys in the south have great success with it.

Berkley Blade Dancers
Actually The blade dancer and a bag of crap gulp is the only thing Berkley I have bought and more than likely will be the last. The gulp commercial's are a big load of horse manure. They claim gulp lays a scent trail that bass can follow. Bass can not follow a scent like a dog there sense of smell isn't made to do that. Oh and there claim it out fishes all other baits thats a good one too.

Reel help.
MPO I would take to someone who knows what there doing. No offense but if you can't get it apart, then chances are you will have a hard time getting it back togather. Or you could ask Reel Mech on this site to offer some advice. Not trying to be a smart elic just trying to save you some headaches. If you do decide to oil it yourself remember a little goes a long way
