  1. Give Bite me Jig heads a try http://www.mikesrxbaits.com/productlist_bybrand_T3_R19.htmly here's a link so you can see them I buy them at a local tackle store I couldn't remember there web address so this one will atleast give you some info on them
  2. Thanks flechero for the info. Due to lack of knowledge I was thinking more would be better when it came to the drag. Really the curado wasn't much in the running but I thougtht I would throw it in anyways to see if anyone had any thoughts on it. I guess I will have to try the 50 mg I just did a search and haven't found any bad posts about them so I guess I have made my decision
  3. I have the burner series curado already and it is a great reel but during the 06 season I built up my tackle supplys and this year I'm looking to add some more rod and reels to the arsenal. I'm looking at buying 4 more setups this season. Thanks for the info though I am leaning toward the chronarchs I just hope I won't be disappointed
  4. I agree with muddy if not payed attention to then it would go away. But she and many other hollywood idiots are getting richer everyday because the public can't get enough. I wouldn't touch her with a ten foot pole
  5. In Ky they expire at the end of feb and the costs of the 06 license for residents was I beleve $15 but the license for 07 season are going up for residents and non residents http://www.kdfwr.state.ky.us/licensefees.asp?lid=621&NavPath=C128C199C295
  6. I am planning on buying a new reel here in the next week or two and need some help making my decision. Here are my choices Chronarch 50 mg Chronarch 100b Curado 300DSV I like the 50 mg but I am really concearned with the durabilty of the the reel and how well it will hold up. I do like it's light weight. I was thinking of getting the 100B thinking it might be more durable. Can anyone point out any differances in the 50 mg and the 100b other than the obvious weight differance. I was thinking the curado 300dsv for its line capacity and it has more drag power than the previous two. Any suggestions
  7. IMO I have to say both are equal importance to me. I like to have a good reel paired with a good rod and I try to not put myself in a position were I have to compromise one or the other. I would rather wait until I have the extra money to get both rather than choose qaulity on one and skimp on the other. Thats just me.
  8. Same here but after learning how to post pics here I started to take my camera more and each time I took it I would only catch small ones. If I left it at home I would catch nice fish. Luck no, thats the way it goes in fishing
  9. I agree with Reel mech the best way to learn baitcasting is to practice. But If your having trouble with the overhand cast Hold your reel with the reel handles pointing toward the sky and cast it that away and try using both hands as well. No matter what anyone tells you on how to baitcast there's still no subsitute for practice though Worry about the basic's not distance and the rest will come to you.
  10. I prefer winter myself I like the challenge myself plus I don't have to deal with snakes. But my second would be the fall.
  11. I wouldn't say wrong just a preferance. What works for one dosen't mean it will for another.
  12. No I wouldn't say it is. I often let my bait soak a while and it produces. Bass are curious in nature and are going to investigate anything that sparks an interest in them and sometimes that happens to be a bait just sitting there doing nothing at all. I agree with avids comment statement number one. Its like having a steak sitting in front of you eventually your going to eat it. Bass fiqure why chase food when it's right in front of them for the takeing. Anyways RW is right it's about patients. For me sometimes it works great sometimes it dosen't I find that it's good in the winter when bass aren't active and aren't willing to chase something.
  13. Most generaly it applies to soft plastic's and maybe some other baits as well but it's when you just let the bait sit and use none or very subtle movement. Some leave the bait sit for up to a minute and some leave it sit up to 5 or more mins, If you can stand to let it sit for a long time it is productive. Big fish always seem to bite if your deadsticking. Easy way to put it I guess is if you have ever tossed a bait out and backlashed your BC and sit there picking it out for a few minutes only to start reeling in and have a fish on the other end thats what deadsticking is without the backlash
  14. Personally I hope he does lose all business with us. But anyway I'm glad to see bass give citgo the axe
  15. Wow it's true you learn something everyday. I had never even heard of doing that I was thinking when I read the question the replies where going to be a snipe hunt.

It seems that I have to agree with mattfly here. I'm not trying to tick anyone off but open up your eyes and look at all the countrys we do business with that hate us. This is nothing new at all. So why the big surprise about citgo. Other leaders hate us just as bad but aren't stupid and mouth off about it. They are smart enough to stay quiet and reap the rewards of us. Look at china hell were making there economy stronger evertyime you buy something that says made in china and look at all the jobs taken away from americans and sent to china. I don't hear of anyone boycotting RCA, GLoomis, Motorola all of which have products made in china. I'm quite certain the Saudi Royal family appreciates all the wealth we have given them. They hate us but just pretend they like us because where making them even richer. Stop buying oil from them and they will be calling for Jihad aginst us. What this boils down too in a round about way is we need to do more than just boycott BASS and Citgo. We need to elimnate any trade with any country that runs there mouth off at us or threatens us, and steals our jobs away with low paying almost slave labor competition on product manufacturing. Chavez isn't any different than any other country that hates us he just trying to make a name for himself and possably get more allies that agree with his dumb A@@. BASS and Citgo is only a small peice of the crap pie
  17. You guys would laugh at the waters I fish but not having a boat yet I'm stuck beating the banks for my bass. I used to fish one that literaly looks like a mud puddle compared to the ones you fish. I stopped fishing it because I really didn't think it was fair to the fish I will go out and take pictures in the next day or so and post them them you will understand what I mean by not being fair to the fish. But I do have others I fish that range from 1 to 2 acres
  18. Thats funny FR ;D but I think all the sun out on the water is getting to you

I'm in the same boat myself. By boycotting citgo I'm also hurting the little guy who happens to be selling under citgo But what do you do
  20. My idea of a good pitch is all about accuracy and how quiet I can get the bait into the water. I keep the bait as low to the water as possable without it skimming across it and I can 98% of the time get it in the water without a big splash and quietly at about 30 ft any more than that I can't acheive the steath that I want. and my accuracy starts to % starts to drop. But a key element also is practice. I practice alot. When I can't go fishing I practice casting and Flipping and pitching. I don't think anyone can practice to much
  21. I could be wrong and probally am but I thought I heard somewhere that big bass pass on certain genes to there off spring which in turn gives them more odds of being trophy size themselves. Any truth to that Anyways I don't eat fish so I have no desire to keep them and if its a mountable size 10+ then I will get the mesurements and get a replica. So far I haven't had any in the 10+ range but I'm getting closer
  22. Glad your back hope you get to do more fishing

Not to rain of the citgo bashing parade or anything but what exactly are we supposed to do here. We don't exactly have a made in the USA oil company that we can buy oil from. We probally do have one who knows anymore but I don't know of any We buy oil from people who want to kill us yet we are so ignorant we just keep buying and supporting them. I wonder how much goods did we trade with japan or Germany during WWII
  24. I would like to see some of your guys results so if you don't mind please post them when you go out next. Senkos deffinatly got me hooked using soft plastic's. The best beginner bait out there. I don't want to go off topic but I wouldn't worry about a splash using these baits. It's been my experiance that when using a senko and it makes a splash upon entry it will spook the bass for a couple seconds but they will turn around to see what spooked them and come back for it
  25. I've never caught any rods some garbage here and there. I went fishing with my wifes uncle and he told me one day and this had to be a streak of bad luck to happen but anyway said he caught a condom. Then he said a few hours later he caught another one. He was using a crankbait both times he said. Just got out the Scicors and cut the line.
