  1. How'd you do in the tourney I'm assuming that was the bmo smallmouth tourney ha I hope you did well and I saw those motors before I'm curious how well they are spare battery is the price of some kayaks with that said I've been eyeballing the radar 115for the both of us that way we can navigate the creeks that fees in the susky and luckily we have the ability to have a vehicle down stream I mean the more hearing from everyone kayak is the way to go for time being we can paddle and down the road get motors if needed I rarely fish lakes so that's why I'm looking at the shorter lengths for the kayaks and granted the atak are nice but checking them both out at bmo I think the radar will suit are needs
  2. Oh it's broad but shallow in my area for the most part there's areas where it's 40' plus but yeah jet boat is the way around here if I had 30k sitting around there's a company locally that makes incredible ones but I'm working on getting a house with the girlfriend so sadly priorities and I plan to top the kayaks I have an suv and used to have a 14ft canoe so I'm no stranger to topping them
  3. My most recent find fishing my local creek was a Rapala x rap 2.5" I Wana say my lure got snagged on thr line so I waded out and came up with it minus the rear treble missing the feather pretty good shape
  4. Best way to put it the normal flow for my part of the river is around 3 ft throw in areas half of that depth and giant boulders you got the sesquhanna river ha
  5. Yeah that's why I lean towards a kayak and yes both paddle and fished and that's why I lean towards kayaks cause sit gives me the ability to fish skinny creeks around here where a Jon boat would struggle and Ive found used Jon's with jets but I'm mechanically inclined but boat motors are out of my league my only complaint is my local shop doesn't carry jackson and I love the coosa HD but curious as to how your gonna mount your trolling motor I've tossed the idea of motor or pedal nut like you said the riffles and all the other obstacles pedal drive could be more harm then good and even with my. Girlfriends kayak she doesn't need a depth finder or anything so that saves some money there between you turkey and just me typing this kayaks sound like a better idea by thr minute
  6. In that case I'll make it cut and dry susky river. Which would be better? Jon boat or kayaks? Budget 5k get used boat or get 2 nice kayaks. Which better choice
  7. So I see a lot of post lately about budget boats and I'm in the same boat no pun in tented so my basic dilemma is I want something for the middle branch susky mainly Halifax area down thru York area I'd any guys are familiar and a few creeks close by it would be mainly me girlfriend and i my budget would be about 5k without any type of loan u found plently of listings on Craigslist for 16ft semi v jons and trackers in the price range I'm just debating if it getting a used boat over 2 kayaks would be a better investment granted I have a paddle outfitters close by that sells ws nucanoe slayers and Hobbie I mean I can get 2 radars with if I chose pedal or motor for roughly same price as a Jon just not sure what is the better option any suggestions or input would be great I've gone back and forth too many times to count
  8. Like Frenchman +1 for Hollywood hair jigs they are 25 minutes away from me and he makes some very nice jigs even got mentioned in the midwest finesse report
  9. I know where I'm going tomorrow ha good thing i got paid yesterday ha they always have random stuff on clearance in diff %off so I'll check it out tomorrow
  10. I agree with sft I'm lucky to live 40 minutes away and if any guys close to PA go to bassfest next year you won't be disappointed
  11. I use to have the old carbonlite series in 6'6 amazing rod maybe check out the st croix premier series not bad of a price it's a little longer then you might like but the mojo bass I have I love it's 6'8 mxf says for wacky rig but it drags tubes weightless senkos you name it really well and really sensitive but I'm eye balling a 7ft kistler mag2 since it Seema most major rod companies I've noticed have gone to longer rods in spinning style
  12. My buddy has a 6'3 loomis bronzeback and that little sucker is amazing like you a few creeks we wade are pretty skinny all things considered so a short rod makes ti easier to make the cast and also pin point accuracy that being said my. Longest rod is a 7ft but I don't throw that too much I mainly use my 6'8 but if you can find some of the old loomis bronzebacks you won't be disappointed
  13. I have an fk on the 6'8 mojo end and I love the overall weight and feel I don't notice any tip heaviness with this setup I was thinking about getting another 2500fk and getting a kistler 7 ml combo granted I never tried the new ci4 but buddy has the of model and it is light yes but I have always has regular stradic and I absolutely love them
  14. Power team lures back to school 25% off everything byebyekids
  15. The rtic? On their website any size softpak just has to be in the blue Grey color for the 25% off I have a 20 and I love mine
  16. I debates on getting the cb rod and maybe grab a multi purpose casting rod too if shipping is only charges once And we'll im on this post rtic cooler softpak coolers blue and Grey 25% off promo code Thanks25 I have the 20 I love it. Might get another on larger size for that price
  17. For me baby torpedo and tiny and torpedo and gaines crippled killer which is a dual prop are smallmouth killers I use a 123 method too depends on their mood sometimes I'll barely get the blades turning other times lots or water kicking I kinda fish it like a popper the most the smallmouth seem to love that and also in my cases I won't even wait for the ripples to dissappear they will hit it when it hits the water time to time
  18. Does anyone know if this still going on I go to add to my cart like it says it does bur its still showing up full price even all the way through to confirm order
  19. Sorry typo there the mag2 is apart of the 20-50% off depending on rods purchased but I mean getting 20% off would bump it down to sub 180 for the rod which I feel is bs great deal and if thr winn grips finally go I can always look into getting it redone in cork the mod I think about it thr more the price sounds right for the mag2
  20. So I was just reading an article about the cost of tungsten and colbat prices going up and does anyone think the price of weights will go up I'll. Post the link bur says Chinese government shut down a lot of small mines so the bug ones could operate here's the link http://money.cnn.com/2017/09/12/investing/cobalt-tungsten-rare-earths-metals-commodities/index.html
  21. That's the thing I like a lot made in the USA I did see the mag2 is 20% one and so on the more rods and I need a new casting rod also it's just a tough choice I never used win grips so I can't really say to much about them but all the blanks being made my Gary loomis is also a nice touch
  22. I guess I'll have ti find a way to get my hands on one it sounds like only thing I'm not too wild about is the win grips never use them so I don't wanna knock them but
  23. So I've been lookin at their rods more and more and I guess for spinning rod which would everyone go with I Mena 30$ price difference granted diff gripa I guess more so curious about actions sensitivity of the rods i mean both seem like great rods just curious if there's a huge difference
  24. Got girlfriends family outside of Tampa about an hr from st Pete fad and brother and grandparents are hunkering down mom and girlfriend are in jersey and I've been praying everyday my list just got a little bit bigger stay safe and you guys will be in my prayers I can promise you that
  25. Believe it or not I'm using an 1/8oz already most of thr times I do have some internal tube weights that let me t rig while still getting some spiral action and when I fish the riffles I feel it ticking across the rocks so I worry more weight would wedge it in
