  1. What size are they? And do you swap hooks or Anything or do you run them stock?
  2. I was hoping you would make a post sooner or later. I'll have to make a order of cranks maybe go to sft too. Have you ever tried Adam's custom lures? I was cursing his site look like they might work nice. I like the idea of balsa a lot especially in some fo the waters I fish. The problem is some of the limestone over the years they cut put crevices and boy oh boy those things eat lures. The boulders are prety easy to work with irs those shelf thst are they tricky part.
  3. So the elite tech smallie came today, I'll have a pic up soon. That being said props to Alf for the amazing job they did for delivery for both my reel and rod. Also the letter and price of candy ha.the rod was shipped in a nice heavy duty tube and the tip was nicely bubbled wrap. For a used rod it even had thr tag looks brand new.
  4. I crushed them in flukes in the fall transition. Also something about a torpedo early in the morning, even musky will crush it. I've been on a big tube kick here lately.
  5. Kayak right now but working on getting a jon. Come summer mix between kayak and wade. My go to in winter is jerk baits suspending them and drifting them. I've caught some monsters trout on that right there. I was also thinking some craw colored cranks for that reason. The way they scuttle across rocks. That's my next bait I'm gonna start using. I know they crush flukes, so they will deff key in on that. I've watched them go crazy on baitfish and craws when they start pouring water from the plant.
  6. If you're down the Marysville way some time give me a shout. My girlfriend is my main fishing partner now, always be happy to go out with someone new.
  7. I was hoping someone from thr susky would chime in. What branch you fishing? That's funny cause that's exactly how I do my topwater and jerk baits. Especially the topwater tight to the shore up and cattyeompas
  8. I'm not sure how to add just a person in the post but, your swimbait jig heads what size hook are they? Mainly curious about the 1/8oz
  9. Buttery smooth, the thing that I really like is the additional bantam oil they put with it. My stradic fg came with it but thr fk didn't. Needless to say I was a little bummed about that. So I was happy it also came with that. I have a fenwick smallmouth 6'9mh coming Monday Gonna be Nice skinny creek and river smallies set up.
  10. Funny you mention those I was just looking at them. Also the area you fish is pretty similar to my type of waters. Yeah I agree with you a 100% in the current. Though some of the areas the current is minimal until you hit riffles. I also have an area the water treatment plant the water is deep. The only time you see real current is when they flush and drain the water back into the creek. That always gets them pretty active.
  11. That's what I figured ha. That's the cost of chasing smallies. Do you think square out round bill would be better? I had the thought process that thr round might roll off the rock better.
  12. So as the title suggests I wanna get into cranking this spring and summer. The only problem the. Moving waters I fish are primarily shallow (2-4ft)with some areas slightly deeper and others more shallow. So I figure square bulls to bang off the rock. So I guess any suggestions on ones guys use in the type of water would be extremely helpful.
  13. I'm so glad I pulled the Trigger on it. I just love how light and easy to palm it is. Not to mention saving 60$
  14. Even though it's right before Xmas and still have gifts couldn't pass up the deal. Got this honey 8:5:1 for 119 all said and done.

That's perfect for what I need and the price is perfect too.

I know what you mean there, I think the issue lies in that they are mainly catering to trout guys. That's why I bounced around the idea of a tennis racket or squash racket. Lightweight strong and good length. Well the tennis racket would be a little long depending. I just gotta find a website that sells that exact style of netting. Do you know by any chance what kind it's called?

The second I saw it was fish pond I knew the price tag was gonna be steep. The main reason I want a net is for my girlfriend (hates touching the fish still working on that) and like I said when they have a mouth full of trebles I rather not have my hand there.

That actually might be my best bet. Luckily I have a bps close by I can get hands on and really see it. I most of thr time use my fingers but no one wants a jacked up moving water small with a mouth full of trebles.
  19. So I know there's a recent post about regular landing nets. The reason I put it under this topic is because it will be for smallmouth 99% of the time. So that being said can anyone suggest a good wading net that can handle smallies up to 18/19"? I like the kind some trout nets are the rubber material, also tangle resistant would be nice. I bounces around the idea of making one out of a tennis racquet or squash the only problem is I'm jusy not sure on the size of net I would need. I also don't wanna break the bank I've seen some nets cost more then some higher end reels and rods. Lastly I guess if it can be attached to a clip that would be a bonus (I apologize about the rambling in this post).
  20. I can't say much for lakes but the waters I fish I seen beds in anywhere from mere inches to a few feet deep. That being said the deepest waters I fish are around 10ft deep. It seems to me that with moving waters they will travel pretty good distance. Also a big one is water clarity, some beds I saw where down a couple feet but the water clarity was excellent. I wish I could be more help there. I know some more experienced buys will probably chime in.
  21. Well I guess I found my new rod ha. I have a fenwick elite tech smallmouth 6'9 mh/f on its way for a steal for a total of 75$with shipping. Its uses but from the pics and also the judgements of the company it looks in excellent condition. All said and done for 195$ I got a brand new curado k and the fenwick. Not a bad day if I sat myself.
  22. I found some on home depot site might just stick with pegboard. They have the larger pieces cause I would like to mount brackets to hold my. Rods too. Keep them safe and out of the way. Still imo a great idea though with the board you used
  23. Where did you get that and how. Much? To me that's a genius idea, I was thinking pegboard but that looks way nicer.
  24. Yeah 1/4oz my spinning rod will. Handle no problems. Just curious more so then anything for a medium power rod found that interesting. How do you like your e6x? I also considered the carbonlite, I have a few of their old ones man I miss those ones the black ones. I also bounced around the idea of falcon rods.
  25. I was looking at the dobyns not many reviews on the Sierra but I like the looks of it. The tatula I see cab be had for right around 110 how are the ratings on then they say a medium is 1/4-3/4. I think you're right the odd thing was the exage grip was longer which I found odd same lengths though. The curado it felt weird like it wouldn't balance well
