  1. The one by me has a wonderful selection. I buy tons of stuff from there. More than half of it is gone here due to this pic being taken after xmas. You cant even see the other row of reels on the far left or the reels on the other side of the display. Baits galore and a nice saltwater area. I could only fit so much in this pic which I took for my friend.
  2. Do you need a cranking rod, topwater, jerkbait etc? Telling us what you fish will get you better suggestions.
  3. inshore/salt reel, can be used for bass. People seem to dislike w&m reel quality but the reviews are good for the most part. I assume you are trying for the free reel at DSG? Model No. SAB4000; Line Capacity (yds. / lb. test): 220/10, 190/12; Gear Ratio: 4.8:1; Weight: 13.4 ozs.
  4. the okuma rtx reel is 6.6 oz up to 30 size, helios 6.8oz most popular rods are light weight nowadays 3-5oz, take your pick
  5. I know how you feel. I hate losing them also, especially on the 1st cast. My friends lake is so rocky I don't even bother there...doesn't matter what type of head is on the jig, so I just use soft plastics. I am getting better since I have been practicing in other lakes. When you catch a fish on one, you feel accomplished. I had the best luck starting off on the bitsy jigs, gaining confidence and working my way up.
  6. Thanks, I was happy to get that one
  7. Went fishing, looked down and saw this, immediately started laughing. I was able to separate them and the one being swallowed swam off..... I was able to revive the ambitious bass after a few attempts, they both almost died. I did catch a dink
  8. He is like visa, he's everywhere you want to be. I dont go there but he is on another site I frequent trying/converting the uninformed, spreading the gospel. Shimanoluyah! Maybe one day he may return but his name already lives on, his work here is done, the legacy sealed.
  9. say his name 3x in the mirror, I dare you!!! He'll pop up like candyman but with a trokar hook as a hand!!! Please no!!!
  10. The stradics were discounted depending by size
  11. It's funny I knew what this thread was about based on the title. The head of the gang has taken his talents elsewhere and it's heading the same way....all I can say.
  12. Not sure where you are but if you have a BPS outlet, you can get a sustain for 200 if in stock. My friend picked up 1 and 3 stradic fjs. Fjs were discounted nicely 105 to 115 but Ebay was slightly higher. I was amazed when he sent the pics with the tags.
  13. 30 to 90 days, they are usually cool anyway
  14. if the display feels smoother than your reel, return it to the store and swap it out
  15. I was also going to suggest this. A member "jbsoonerfan" has one for 50 here shipped practically brand new http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/110897-rods-for-sale/?hl=%2Bdiesel
  16. You can get a berkley shock from walmart for 40 new and it is rated from 1/8 lure weight
  17. Those new GSX reels and rods look sick! Elite and tournament ..Id post a video but the mods will remove it more than likely since its actually from the Gander site. You can google gsx quantum and youll see older models with quantum badging
  18. Greatest knot of all time to me!!! I use it for everything, yes everything. You dont need force to tie it and no tag end wasting.
  19. Powerpro 40 is the same diamater as tuffline 20 for what its worth since the tuffline isnt tru braid. 20lb pp is 6lb mono equiv. That being said, the reel probs are doubtfully from the line. Casting distance probs more than likely but not the sticking.
  20. How was that working previously? I know those rods are rated up to 3/4 oz in MH so were you throwing them on weightless hooks, small jigheads or 3 wire versions?
  21. I also hear great things about the Powell Max Football Jig rod. I believe its 7ft5
  22. Speaking of light those new Okumas seem to be featherlight RTX=6.6 oz
