  1. No problem, hopefully I can share more. I didnt realize these little lures were so much fun to fish.
  2. Thanks for all of the input and reccs. I'll try a few different set ups for different jig types.
  3. Im in south fla, they get up to 12lbs reported but we've(including my friends) caught a few in the 7-9lb range recently.
  4. What do you use and the #test for your overall jig setups? Straight or with a leader? Thanks
  5. Used some rooster tails and some small jigs
  6. Thanks fellas. I'll def use live bait as indicated most places. I'll use my spinning rod with 10lb braid. It's been a blast catching peas with it.
  7. These threads are embarrassing. Glad you got it sorted out so cheaply.
  8. Gander sells a 2piece rod, quantum response for about 50 bucks, with micro guides
  9. Its gusting away outside right now, not fun if you have to drive
  10. I knew you'd come through and bless us with knowledge and wisdom,
  11. Has anyone fished there recently? Are the bass/peas/ clown knife fish biting? Figured I may try over there next week, early or late to avoid the boaters/skiiers I want to catch one of these things
  12. casting distance, less fouling, weight savings
  13. I would like to catch one of these aquarium pets. Sounds like fun since they can swim backwards also.
  14. Any updates with noisy gearing or build quality?
  15. my revo sx gen 2. I know we had a rocky start but I have learned to love you with your flaws like a good man should. Ive been trying to fish this reel exclusively as of recent. Ive kept my casting under control and been launching spro frogs miles down the canal. I had a few people comment when fishing at the distance, in disbelief. * The drag has been really smooth when snakehead fishing. I decided to not lock my drag down all the way anymore to give the fish a chance. I know the drag is super strong when locked because if I get hung up I can still peel line on most reels I own on full lock. The revo's spool wont move..I can either get my bait back, attempt to pop it off, or pull down the tree limb or fence. I actually had to remove the spool of suffix because I got hung up on someones small wire fence and almost damaged it. I had to get a kid a few houses down to get the koppers frog off of the fence for me later on that day. Im not skilled enough as some to have the brakes off or anything but Ive been satisfied with it at half way up or more. *lights a candle* I dedicate this song to you
  16. You can read reviews of each on tw, bps and tackletour. They have tested these reels. I think the curado will give you less headache based on some reviews I read on backlashing with the Patriarch...even with dual brakes. Some people said they couldnt get it to backlash. Shimanos are easy to dial and repair if needed in so less worries there imo. The Patriarch has a more durable finish, people say it is ultrasmooth but is heavier than the curado. Many reported over 2 years of use no probs. You, buy the curado If it were up to me, Id find a way to buy both if possible =).....but Personally I like to try out different reels so Id probably get the Pflueger, I know I can find another curado cheap at some point, Ive seen them new for 100 at times.
  17. Im not that skilled with jigs yet but I did catch a near 5lb bass on a black/blue bitsy jig
  18. maybe look in here I had a similar question
  19. You can try a calico jack inshore rod from Dicks Sporting Goods. Its inshore and about 60 or less. You can also use the 10 off over 50 for it. Sir snookalot will cosign these rods. I bought a mh one, its light and strong.
  20. males have the lump
  21. Snakes are almost everywhere right now. My buddy and I are catching bass, chichilids, snakes, peas, etc all in the same area. I don't think Ive caught many small snakes recently..Many are in this range below or bigger...My shoe size here is 11.5
  22. You need a bait valet now, you stepped up into grey pupon territory now chief
  23. I have use 2 rolls and have been saddened 2x. Its now leader material if that much for me. Yo-zuri hybrid is my fluoro sub...no probs yet so far
