  1. Red ranger green Dakota
  2. As you pass the game club and come around the bend you will see a buoy at that point I usually split the river in half and stay to the middle of west v side. You will need to have a jet and be paying attention. As you go up a little ways you will start to see the ledge across the river and at that point I start transitioning myself toward the right side of the river where there is a small break in the ledge maybe 5 foot wide making it passable. After that your own your own. Any where from the buoy up will be great fishing fishing right now. There is still some big fish in the deep water but if you want some action go up in the shallows.
  3. Up past the game club
  4. 5 feet 61 degrees when I called this morning at Williamsport. Potomac
  5. Yea but there are spot junkies that will hammer a spot out if you show them.
  6. I've seen those big ones you got up at gander mt. Lots of nice fish
  7. I had the privilege to land this 7.11 toad for my good budy Brandon. It is his personal best. We were debating between two places to fish and we made the right choice.
  8. Got out to big pool Sunday. Hit one on a jig and a few more on the spinner. Wind was miserable I think at one point there was one foot of chop with wight caps. Lol.
  9. Nice looking fish guys. I'm gonna try to get out to big pool this week or Blair's valley with the boat and try to locate some fish. Me and my girl friend started a Facebook site for Marylanders to post up pics of fishing, hunting, shrooming, and outdoors type stuff. Check it out like if you want or post up pictures. Western MD Outdoors is the Facebook site
  10. I notice the clouds played a big difference in the bite the past 2 days as well. When the sun would go in the bite stopped. Almost like a light switch went off and soon as the sun popped back out bam there was a fish. Tuesday night when the river was on the rise the word out was walleye every where. i herd there were 14 people lined up on the hot wall. My fishing budy was up d**n 5 and said someone caught 11lb walleye. Thats close to state record. I never have fished black hills before. Lots of talk about the lake on here. I'm gonna have to put it on my hit list for this year. What's the average size fish out of there?
  11. Tonight was a different story. Only landed 3. River came up a foot and temp was at 50 degrees according to R C Wilison water treatment plant of Williamsport. Windy and a couple snow storms blew threw. Still hitting the jerk bait tight to the bank working it up stream. Fish size was better tonight had 3 other fish take a swipe at the x rap and they were toads.
  12. The potomac was on fire yesterday evening. Landed 13 smallmouth and 1 largemouth 4:30 to dark. Worked a jerk bait right up the shore line. No hogs but its always fun when the bite is on.
  13. Who's getting out this weekend. Plan to hit some ponds in PA after work today with my buddy. Hope put the boat in the water Saturday and play around with the new fish finder. Weather looks like its finally gonna make the turn. Lets go 3 o'clock ready to get out of Baltimore and he'd back to the hills.
  14. Last year in the mattawoman. I was throwing a 1/4 oz. lavender red eye shad and retrieving it right on the top of what ever foliage that was under the water. I don't know what type it was because it was my first time there. We were fishing the first week of April. I was making the cast as long as I could and retrieving the bait as fast as I could ripping the bait threw the top of the foliage. I believe Allen when he says 50+ a day. Wen we would get set op off the foliage it was about every othe cast I would hook up. My girl friend actually caught the biggest one of the day but it was caught on a custome chatter bait her brother made to resemble a sunny. It was also a very windy day not sure if that had anything to do with the bite. We also flipped the pads that were there and picked up a few.
  15. X2 on the rattle trap. Bring along some chatter baits. My girlfriends father and brothers fish out of Smallwood all the time. Don't forget it is a tidal system and planing the tides can play in your favor.
  16. Despite the cold and windy weather 4 of us launched the bass raiders yesterday evening in pursuit of the almighty smallmouth. Had a great time and some great action. Among the 4 of us we managed to land 20 fish from the cold water. The fish were staged a couple feet from the bank and were not shy when the lure caught there eye. Here are two that made it all worth while. Keirston caught hers on a Rapala original jerk bait perch color and Brandon caught his on a root bear spider jig.
  17. We were fishing the conococheague outside of Williamsport. We were throwing hair jigs and tubes. I didn't have my tackle with me so all I had was one jig. Arctic fox with a blue craw baby rage craw. Where were you and your wife fishing?
  18. The bite was on yesterday. Stopped by the creek on my way home from work to meet up with my buddy Brandon to catch the last two hours of day light. Fished a sunny bank on the outside current with some deep holes. Throwing my hair jigs working them to a medium pace with some pauses. Landed 3 and lost 2. There looking healthy.
  19. Im gonna have to look into that. I tried using round rubber on one as the legs but didnt like the way it looked.
  20. i tied this on a bagley head. The hooks seems a little flimsy but i think it will be ok.
  21. Lets see some hair jigs that work for you. Here is my latest that i haven't got to try yet.
  22. d**n cant believe that.
  23. im gonna throw out a line tomorrow. Hair jig a few spots if i can make it to them.
  24. I really don't have a favorite place. I like trying new places i try not to get stuck on one spot. I fish the river mostly d**n 4,5 river bottom, tailors to snyders. Also the conococheague and antietam. I fish blairs valley alot because the dogs can run and play on the back side away from most people. Indian springs pond holds some nice ones.
  25. Dramer check out SFTtackle.com. Stuff comes quick. Also ***.com large selections. Check the tackle making formus on here there are some very talented people that make lures that might give you the edge on getting high pressure fish to bite.
