10Lbs Mono Vs. 10 Lbs Fluro
have to tie it perfect, lots of spit to ensure that line is wet and slides good to not burn it. I dont understand those who just lick in the line, I wont risk it. practice tying that knot over and over, sometimes I have to tie a knot 4 times before I am willing to fish it. you'll get there.

Strike King 10 Xd
Dobyns has the 806CB "10xd rod" now. designed to be the rod for the 10xd. I think a few other manufactures have "10xd" rods now too......if you want a new rod that is.

Do You Remember Your First Jig Fish???
I am always amazed at the people that don't fish a jig or don't understand it. Its not they don't understand, more never had the chance to really fish a jig cause of type of water, style of fishing, ect ect. As Jon's story above, I was lucky enough to be in the boat when he caught his first of many jig fish. I remember him saying he never caught a jig fish, I remember thinking, might even said it "what the hell do you fish with then?" but I did promise him a jig fish, and I am glad he got it. It's a memory I will never forget, as I knew once a man feels that jig bite he is ruined and never wants to throw anything but. My first jig fish: at the golf course. I had just started fishing.....literally less than a month. I been catching good fish 3# +/- and a friend of mine told me to get a football jig... I had no clue. Off to Wal-Mart I go and get a few 3/8 booya black and blue football jigs and paca craws. back to the golf course and boom 4 pounder. My First jig fish from a boat: after fishing for about 2 months I bought a boat, went to a local lake (Horseshoe) and casted out between 2 stick up in an open bay......I felt a tick and questioned it, reeled in slack but kept reeling in slack........its there I said! the fish was swimming toward me ! Set the hook into a nice 2 1/4#er...........thought I was Bill Dance.......... my boat, my spot, my first jig fish all on my own HOOKED FOR LIFE ON THE JIG. I then called my friend that told me to buy the jig and fished with him(lives 2 hours from me), got my head kicked in but LEARNED AND LEARNED just from watching him work the jig.....adjusted to my own style and called myself a "jig guy" best thing about fishing the jig is helping someone learn or introduce someone to the jig....jig produces nothing but SMILES!

Measuring Line Question
I use 2 reels. measure the distance of line I want spool that on a empty reel top shot is now on bottom tie on backing fill spool till full transfer to reel you are going to use top shot now on top, with an exact amount. It is a process only for the picky I know. but now I know exactly how much line I use everytime I put on new topshot.and I only have to do it once. and since I use Tatsu I don't want to waste any. for round and easy the 00Mod way is the way to go.

From The Back Of The Boat.......
I think you can follow up with just about anything. Granted if the guy is on 10 all day you have to adapt. what I call fast and you call fast and he calls fast is relative. I have friends that can cover water with a jig and it is probably where I get it from too. I am known to burn up a bank with a steady cruise only to make a pitch or two to prime realestate. Pitch, shake, shake, rattle, rattle, move on. BUT, if he is fishing a jig he is also not totally fishing at warp speed. Pick your top 3 confindence baits and pick and choose your spots. Even though he might fish faster, you should still have time to execute a cast and presentation. Even fishing a senko, If they dont hit it on the fall or within a few seconds of jiggel or just laying there I reel up and cast again. Jigs Shakey heads Trig Squarebills Spinnerbaits senkos are all your friend here.

Behavioral Differences Between Bass Species
but you still have to ask the bass that didn't bite whether he didn't bite because he has seen your lure before, or due to boat traffic.....lol. "so many in nature you are left with nothing" if you take away variables are you not left with confirmation bias? as you possibly drop the one variable that rules the mood of the fish one way or another? My main point, again I will state it, is we will never know because we are human, they are bass. And they aint talking. nature has mystified man since the dawn of time and that aint changing anytime soon either. agree to disagree about the angle we come from only question I am worried about is..............Your livewells full?

Behavioral Differences Between Bass Species
where is the proof of that Ian??? you are talking in circles again dude. now the fish will not be caught again on a hula popper(at least not the same color pattern) but on the last page no study over any concernable lenght has shown this to be true. Lab reports speak in circle, always "CYA" Catt speaks of confirmation bias and it holds true here too. Yall want to prove something yet say there are too many variables to control. THATS THE POINT...... let nature be natural. We are humans, we do not suppose to understand or figure out everything.

C&r Rant
I think you might have your rivers mixed up, or at least I need to see the link to the article. never once have I heard this.

Behavioral Differences Between Bass Species
so you just said they will stop biting a lure in a lab, but then turn around and no study has tested memory of lures????? come one man you cant have it both ways. you can make a lab report say anything you want if you "control" it the right way, of course you won't agree with that either. Catt has told you, WRB has told you, and I told you, you MUST study it in the wild or it doesn't mean anything. and last time I checked, Bass will still bite a crème/plastic worm, so that proves you wrong too.
