  1. skeletor6, I hear ya!! I am a Tatsu guy too.
  2. pre or post spawn. I believe the pre spawn is. My thoughts are they know they are not going to eat for a while and get fattened up for the process of making babies. Why I think the post spawn is not: the fat girls are tired, scarred up, and lean. They have no energy, hence the reason we down size and slow post spawn. drop shot, shakey head, ect Now our good friend 00 Mod leans towards the POST spawn is the bigger feed. with the believe they are hungry cause they haven't eaten in a while and looking for a buffet for chow. so we are leaving it up to the board to settle this debate. who is right? Me? Him? Both? neither? I find this to be an excellent topic for debate and good points on both sides........ what do YOU think?
  3. I get what you are saying, I disagree with it when it comes to FC vs mono braid. If KVD thought winning a 5th, 6th, 7th ect ect Classic could be done on Mono or Braid then he would use mono or braid and BPS would pay him all the same. AMART is highly particular about his gear, and would change line type before anyone (paid or not) IF he thought he could hold an advantage.
  4. call me crazy but those seem to be reasonable prices.......... $8k(or less) probably to really trick it out soup to nuts, not bad I say.
  5. they are paid to use the BRAND. I will give you that.... they however are not paid to use TYPE. you think AMart is using fc cause he's paid? LOL that dude is more anal about his gear that ANY other 2 guys put together, and if he thought he could catch 1 more fish on braid then he would use braid, regardless of contract. I understand all about marketing but I think you are missing this one.... we are talking about people that make their living based on how their line performs, NOT the banjo minnow. I use FC because it is the best line available for what I want it to do. to say mono can "rebound" after stretch it to defy the laws of physics, also one crimp or kink in mono and its done, ANY old timer will tell you that. And I will give you, just about any line with a crimp/kink is worthless other than braid. if all you are going to do it chunk spinnerbaits or something use whatever...... but I highly doubt any accomplished deep jig fisherman is using mono, and most don't use braid either because of line bow. the knocks on FC is based, more often than not, people who cant tie a knot/cinch a knot properly or use improper #test. we can always agree to disagree
  6. but they ALL use FC most of the time....... NOT mono, NOT braid......if there was something better they would use it. paid or not, those guys fish for too much money to use anything other than the best available. Sure they are paid to use seagaur, BPS, Berkley, ect ect....I get that. However, they are not paid to use FC over braid or mono, as they could not afford to use a second rate line TYPE. and that's what we are debating here TYPE not brand.
  7. devil's advocate.........dont the auto manfactures mostly use Mobil 1?
  8. I had a friend that tried to use aftermarket plugs in a 90 opti and it wouldn't run, so he had to pony up for $20 per plug, plus was out the aftermarket plug cost. with oil, I see no reason to risk it. Merc may not make the oil but they have it made to their specs (additive, detergents package ect.)
  9. I enjoy buying and using top shelf gear (within reason), with that I use FC almost 100% of the time. My reason is simple: Look at the BASS and FLW tours, those guys use FC more than any other 2 lines combined. I understand per technique some use braid, mono, ect. But day in day out, they mostly use FC. When the majority of the guys on tour start using braid, or mono on 90% of their setups, so will I. If its good enough for them to put food on the table, then its good enough for me to jack around and have fun with. Soak it down with KVD L&L and have at it.
  10. I would not use anything but Mercury or Yamaha oil. outboards are a huge investment and is not the place to be cheap on the think that protects it, that being the oil.
  11. dinks to hawgs, shallow to deep, thick cover to open water........the jig catches them all.
  12. that's an ole bucket head for sure: the fish, not 00mod.........
  13. can anybody provide info on the '14 trip? Glenn, mods, coordinators? must admit, I am a planner and a dreamer so I like to look forward to it. I remember when I decided to go on last years trip, my first. I watched ALL the old roadtrip videos several times and read the old roadtrip threads..... I was so pumped to go and was really glad I did! Cant wait for the announcement and to see how the video turned out!!! See yall there!!!!
  14. if ya cant hit 'em at least you can blind them?
  15. just tow a Gatling gun around town......... but be safe, mod it to use a 2 in ball, not a pull pin.
  16. surely your buddy had his camera with him that day, right? not doubting, but let's see 'em.....
  17. I always fished a fluke with twitches and jerks............but there is only 1 way to find out and that's to go fishing. sorry that aint much help but I don't fish flukes much
  18. I like the Tatsu. you can do a search for "tatsu" and find some of my previous comments along with roadwarrior's and hooligan's comments as well. I find Tatsu to be strong and abrasion resistant. ALWASY use backing and only use 50-65 yards of "top shot" which will give you 3 or 4 reels per spool. Tatsu yard per yard price is not that expensive since it is a 200 yard spool. Granted before I used tatsu, I used BPS XPS flouro, so it was a pretty big performance gap to make my "conclusion" on.
  19. that's true honor and loyalty
  20. did any of you guys ever feel unsafe going that fast? I would love to hear more marshal stories, I think it would be cool but don't want to have to lay in the bottom of the either

I fully get the idea of someone wanting to "roll heavy" but you have to be careful, check your laws, HELL CHECK YOURSELF. You cant be riding around heavy with a bunch of attitude, or wanting to be cool. Yes, I know, you never know when a whole gang of thugs wantsto kill you. BUT you have to plan your routes and try your best to avoid those types of areas/sitautions at all cost. A Glock with 4 or 5 happy sticks should get you through. I fully believe if you got to reload, it aint good and you might as well go for broke at that point. I understand you are 17 and cant get a handgun, so the best thing for you IMO is look at your lifestyle and question why you are wanting to be armed in such a manner. good luck
  23. youtube up the bassresource videos, I think he has one on texas rigging!
  24. Fair Enough , Webertime. I thought that would be the case. I suppose we have been relegated to a society by technicality. I am more than thankful for our civil liberties and due process, and more thankful for those who have provided them. I guess it still all boils down to right and wrong with me. People take advantage of our great freedoms to do bad, not good, and its sad. Thanks for the explanation, it is about what I expected. And believe it or not, whether you agree with me or not, I really don't think we are far apart in mindset. thanks again.........got go rig tackle.
  25. you are correct, one doesn't have to be a case worker to see it. I really appreciate your post, and the insight given. The main question is: Why are more people not removed from the roles for the violations you listed, as they are easy to see and catch. Seems to me nobody wants the catch anyone. If I can see it beyond doubt, then why cant a fraud investigator? I am not taking a personal shot at you with that statement, I am asking. Is it as simple as it is more politically benifitical to turn a blind eye? Example: Baby Daddy lives in the house. This is one of the most common I see. Dude has a job or is a drug dealer but does not marry the girl so she can get $8/ month rent or free housing/EBT/WIC/huge income tax returns , yet sleeps there EVERY night. I have seen this COUNTLESS times. Hence the phrase: "where you stay at?" You dont have to work in the field like you and speedbead to see that one and other infractions. Many may think I am uninformed on the topic(or as I been told here), but I am not......I been offered SS #s at tax time, EBT cards for sale, Food stamps for cash (back when they looked like "money"), WIC.....I know what time it is, and you can call, letters anything you want but nothing ever happens. Again, I enjoyed your post, and look forward to further insight...... can continue via PM or even the phone if you rather. Topics as these produce WAY too much typing sometimes.
