as the facts come out: the cards were not reading "unlimited funds", the cards were not reading at all. so the story is being somewhat misreported as a "glitch". the EBT system was down over several states. meaning the EBT cards didnt work at all. the manager at this walmart instead of telling customers to wait until the EBT system is back online, the manager decided to ring the stuff up and take care of it later. I assume they took card imprints like to good ole days/ how they do it when the power is out. Either way it was a bad choice. That however does not make it right for the animals to come in and ravage the store and steal. Taking care of it later resulted in people getting $100s and $100s worth of groceries with literally pennies on their EBT card. Blatant fraud/stealing. In the business world I am sure that manager is probably standing in the welfare line with the customers this morning............. BUT dont think for one second where the blame lies, the STEALING CUSTOMERS. those customers knew without doubt what they were doing, and should be punished to the fullest extent of the law and lose any and all benifits until the money is paid back. Its a bad deal all the way around and the only people that are going to lose is the taxpayer/average consumer.

I dont know a good solution to this incendent to recoup the money. It sounded like Wal Mart could turn the card numbers over to the gubbment and they could trace them and take action against the card holders. Wal Mart might indeed do that, but I doubt very seriously the feds do anything to the card holders. Wal Mart was in a tough spot, they couldnt stop this. they couldnt tell those people they couldnt purchase the items..... if they did there would have been a full scale riot and the chance of that wal mart being burned to ground would have been real. I found it sickening, that the report said "this was a natural human reaction" . NO IT WASN'T!!!! It was a total, animal response. Total disrespect, and completly stealing! Of course I do not expect anything else from people who have no idea what money really is and where it comes from. Sure, Wal Mart can take the hit, but why should they? How much business will that store lose over the next week until the store is back stocked? Do they put all that meat back on the shelves from the cart? How much of it will spoil before they could get it back on the shelves? I really hate people...... it is getting harder and harder to find TRUE people today.

but they made sure to use that free phone to tell all their friends........just makes me sick. and here I was not trying to spike my blood pressure before bed.

I use the rage craw and bite off whatever I need to get a certain length. past that opinions vary and there are several pages worth of reading you can do on the boards via the search function.

fair enough..... what I call "current" may not be your definition of "current" and vice verse. if you got a rage craw hanging off the back of it, all that flapping is going to slow it down some too. its a hard call to make, as you are really getting into the realm where you will not know what REALLY works until you get out on the water. which is why I recommend just getting a few to start out with, learn what you like and more importantly DONT like, what fall rate suits you, what trailer suits you, ect ect.....these are things you simply cant learn on the internet. Somethings, like jig fishing you just have to experience. You'll find out what you like pretty quickly, once you do it some...... some of it may be exactly what I like, others maybe the direct opposite, but it all catches fish.

if you are fishing current you want the 1/2 oz funny story: I was fishing with some friends a few years ago. I was using a 3/8 oz northstar alien head as I recall, and I saw my line move so I set the hook...... after the 5th phantom hook set and my buddies laughing they asked what size I was using..... I said 3/8.......they said you gotta go 1/2 Needham, you are fishing current now. Since it was my first time fishing current, I didn't know to upsize my jig, we were fishing 10 and less of water and the jig was never hitting bottom. point of the story: If fishing current, there is no need to go less than 1/2oz IMO.

the alien head is fine and kinda the best of both worlds. I use the football head and it works for my fishing.... that is my personal prefence. my main point is pick one and roll with it for a while, then expand as/when needed.

yall get too hung up on head style. football, arky, brush, ect........ yall forget you are beginning jig fishermen, KEEP IT SIMPLE. Pick 1 head style and fish it, and be happy. I am not a beginning jig fisherman and I throw a football 100% of the time , unless I am throwing a swim jig. as do other accomplished fishermen I know. laydowns, pitching cypress trees, stumps, rocks, pea gravel, whatever, all get the football. Keep it simple and enjoy catching jig fish.... THEN expand if warranted.

1. football head since you have rock mainly 2. no more than 1/2 since you are shallow and even though you have current 3.use any brand you want as long as you like it. all board sponsors make EXCELLENT jigs 4. I like rage craws but will also use zoom chunks for less action 5. no, I use them as they sit 6. use the search function and read articles on the front page, a simple "Jig" search will pull up at least 20+ pages of threads, many multiple pages. Read, read, and read some more and all your questions will be answered in detail, many times over.

I like to keep it as simple as possible..... 1/4, 1/2, and 3/4. The more I fish deep the more I MIGHT add 1 oz keep it to 3 colors 1. green pumpkin 2. PB&J 3. black and blue I keep about 15 of each color/weight in the box, which makes it about 150 jigs most times. ALL are football heads, wood, rock, laydowns whatever gets the football. those 3 weights and 3 colors will cover all your bases and be well on the way to being a "jig guy" swim jigs 1/4 and 1/2 2 colors, white and chartruse and a bluegill color can throw it anywhere, and will work in/around grass shakeyheads 3 sizes 1/8, 1/4, 3/8 (can switch for 1/2) I like mega strike, and owner This is a lot to buy. Build up over time, this time of year I would focus on getting some football jigs and swim jigs, maybe a pack or two of shakeys. As the water cools you will throw the fottballs more than anything........ going in to next spring/summer you can build/expand as needed or wanted. Don't go blow a bunch of money on stuff you may or may not like. Try and experiment first, so you know what you like..... then make the 200 jig order. that's just my opinion, others may vary.

I know Butch is a "legend" and all, I cant discount that or the fish he has caught ..... but from the videos I have seen I don't care for the attitude.

Red Earth has a point......I use Tatsu which is not cheap. I tie the improved clinch all the time. I have longer tag ends most times. Big Whoop. I tie perfect knots and thats what I am concerned with.... not the foot or 2 +/- it takes to tie a knot. sometimes you got to pay to play to get perfection......BUT it is nothing to argue about IMO

this is very true...... I caught flack after the roadtrip. While telling my girlfriend about the trip, I went into detail about Sunday (I caught bigger fish sunday so I was excited to talk about it. About the point I said...."and I told Kerri to get the net." all hell broke loose. Who's kerri? SO you can go fish all week with other women, but you can even invite me? You NEVER take me fishing but can fish with another woman? 1. Kerri is glenn's wife 2. it was ONE DAY, determined by blind draw, and nothing happened in the least execpt catching fish. 3. I have taken you fishing before. My answers did not matter............

question............. I love me some rage tails, so no disrespect meant. My question is: How/why for day to day fishing or day in day out conditions are these better or a higher level than the "original" rage craw? I know that is a more pointed question than I mean it to be, but what are we looking for to be different in the way of a fishes reaction versus the original?
