Blue Gill Swimbait
The last time I checked the Matt lures website the Hard Gill s were still available, I would get at least 1 while you can as it could be a while before they are available again. As Tom mentioned the slow sink 3 piece bait would be my first choice out of the various options offered . This also comes in a Baby size which is another great bait . I've also done well with the Got 'em Coach Bluegill in the floater. I like to fish with short rips similar to a prop bait, it also works well twitching or with a slow wake . For some reason I catch more Pike & Muskie than I do with the Jackall Ganteral but the link earlier in the thread proves that big bass will eat as well. I haven't spent a lot of time with the Imakatsu Gillroid but I did stick a nice 4-1/2 lber the first time I used it and it looks promising. I will be fishing it hard next spring .

Blue Gill Swimbait
I bought a couple of packs and shame on me never fished them last year . May I ask how do you rig them, I assume with a weighted hook if so I'm curious as to which works the best for you ? Thanks

Favorite Jerk Bait Brand And Color?
My answer is whatever they are biting that day, in my opinion this is one lure category where the fish preference can change from day to day and it pays to have a variety of lure styles to choose from. My Go to jerkbaits would include .... Megabass Ito Shiner & Vision 110 Magnum Lucky Craft Pointer 100 & Staysee Version 2 Strike King KVD 300 Rapala X Rap & Shadow Rap Ima Flit I will occasionally throw small jerkbaits like the Pointer 78 & Megabass trick darter but it's rarely necessary and I prefer the bigger baits for increased casting distance . If you forced me to sell all of them and left with one to choose from it would be the Ima Flit with the Pointer 100 coming in second . That said the hottest bait for me this past fishing season was the Rapala Shadow Rap, that bait is legit .

Manufacturers That Make A 7" Soft Jerkbait???
I just checked this website very cool. Love the fact that they can make baits without salt when I need a floater for shaky heads etc . I plan on ordering some this winter .

Jigs Jigs Jigs
My favorite combo is a 1 oz Strike King or a Dirty Jigs Grass jig with a Rage Lobster, the 3/4 oz, 1-1/4 and 1-1/2 oz sizes sometimes gets thrown. Surprisingly the 1 oz jig with a Rage Lobster does not fall as fast you would think due to the high action bulky size of the trailer .

What Do You Think Is The Absolute Most Effective Popper?
Just wanted to let you know that the Live Target Frog popper is also available in a 3" long 1/2 oz which should cast much farther than the smaller size I assume you are using. I will have to try this one . That said my favorites are the Heddon Pop n' Image when I want to fish it slowly and get that " bloop " sound . The Yellow magic & Excalibur zell pop ( now known as the Booyah boss pop ) are the poppers I use when I want to fish them more aggressively by either walking them or a quick stop and go type of retrieve . For the stop and go I will usually quick walk it about 2 or 3 feet, then pause for a second or 2 and give it one or 2 quick pops . Not sure I explained it well but I know it when I see it and in the heat of the summer when there is a light chop on the water the bass usually destroy it .

Are Finesse Jigs Really Worth It?
As Fishes in tress mentioned they typically have a smaller hook which lends itself to a smaller trailer , the Strike King Baby Rage Craw works very well when a smaller profile is needed .

Your 2Nd Favorite Stick Bait For Wacky Rigging ?
Besides the Senko, I like the Jackall Flick Shake. I highly suggest fishing the Flick Shake with Jackall's tungsten jigheads, 1/16 works well . The nice thing about this is that it is not a Senko clone in terms of profile, I throw this on 6 lb Florocarbon .
