Techniques for Deep Weeds?
Lots of good suggestions so far, I would also consider trying a Zoom Speed Craw pegged with at least a 1/2 oz tungsten sinker.
-
To peg or not
Casting into moderate cover unpegged, pitching baits into heavy grass pegged.

Whats the utimate finess fishing technique?
1/32 or 1/16 oz. Gopher Mushroomhead jig with a 3" Stickworm fished with 6lb. Floro on a ML rod. Skipping a centipede crimped with a 1/32 oz split shot under docks, I like using braid with a florocarbon leader. I've also been doing well fishing a 1/16 oz. Jackall Flickshake on 6 lb Floro with a ML rod.

Is everyone on this board a senko freak?
I'll chime in with my 2 cents. I think most fisherman when they think about fishing a Senko are associating it with a weightless Texas or Wacky rig which is no doubt highly effective. That said I've done very well at times fishing the 4" size on a weighted Texas rig or using the 3" size on 1/32 oz. or 1/16 oz. mushroom jighead which has a slow death spiral. The 3", 4" & 5" Senko's are extremely versatile baits and are definetely one of the all time great bass fishing lures. That said my go to baits during the summer are crankbaits with soft plastics being a fall back option for me.

Source for Discontinued baits ?
To add to MattinOK's post I've found some similiar baits in older low volume tackle shops, that's why when I drive by a tackle shop I haven't been in before I try to stop in. I recently picked up a few Rapala Risto Raps from a small shop that was still hanging on the pegboard and this is a product that's been out of production for a few years.

New one rattle spooks (lurenet/pradco)
Bigbill, I would leave the one that didn't rattle alone. I often do quite well on silent baits.

Strike King Red Eye Shad
Japanese Shad has been a great color for me, I've also done very well with the Mojarra color.

Berkley Realistix Sinking Minnow question
I bought a bag when they first came out, didn't care for the action and never used it again. I'm sure it will catch a few fish but in my opinion there are baits out there like the original Senko that are going to be much more productive.

ICAST 2010
The Jackall Swimming Ninja G90 caught my eye, it's a small Bluegill swimbait.

What is the WORST BAIT?
I forgot about that one, but I would also include it in the fishing tackle Hall of Shame along with their Revolution Bluegill & Shad baits.

I've nailed a couple of good ones on the 5" bait in the Bluegill color (weighted as a fast sink) in limited use, excited about the baits potential.

Yo-Zuri finally updated their website
I agree, great lure.

Strike King Series 6XD is the real deal
I'm hitting close to 20' with 12 lb Florocarbon. I've done especially well with the Silent version in the Sexy Ghost color. Last Friday my best 5 combined for a little over 20 lbs which is a nice haul for largemouth in Michigan. This was not the only deep diver I fished that day, but it was best on that outing and has earned a spot in my tacklebox.

Strike King Series 6XD is the real deal
I've been catching very nice bass on these baits the last couple of days, cast very well and gets down deep. Strike King deserves a big thumbs up for this bait, my favorite new bait of the year.
