  1. By and large I also fish them pretty slow. However, keep an open mind and mix it up, I caught several yesterday just swimming a finesse jig with a rage craw trailer.
  2. Headlamp, must have for me, I'm an evening angler.
  3. Would have to be some kind of jig.
  4. Walking baits and buzzbaits, I couldn't pick just one, love both.
  5. Nice fish! Walking baits can be a fun addiction for sure, for about a month earlier this year that's all I was throwing.
  6. I'll second the fish the riffles tip, that's where I've been catching them lately down here.
  7. Oh yeah, I like this one.
  8. I think the Lews Team Pro only has 10 pounds of drag, might not be a great flippin reel. I have a regular Team Lews, it's a great reel, stronger drag and about $50 cheaper than a Team Pro too. Personally, for a flippin reel I'd go with a Super Duty, which is even cheaper. Couldn't tell you much about that particular Abu or Quantum.
  9. Like everyone else on the forum, I only throw a black Cavitron.
  10. I've almost always found live bait to be superior in cold water, it's hard to snob away from it if you like fishing in the Winter IMO. Outside of that, I don't use it much though, I'd rather fish artificial.
  11. No idea on the cause, but I've caught a few Largemouth with red eyes, it seems fairly commonplace for Smallies and Spots to have them.
  12. That sucks man! Keep us filled in, I'm sure a lot of members will be curious how their customer service treats you.
  13. Dusk...dawn comes way before I'm getting out of bed.
  14. I feel the increased sensitivity claims of tungsten are overrated, it's only slightly more sensitive at best. Outside of punching, I don't use tungsten.
  15. My Jeep Wrangler sort of fell short of expectations, how the hell can a lightweight 4cyl Jeep only get like 18 MPG? Good reliable transportation, fun to offroad, and they hold their value too, but gas mileage is pathetic.
  16. Never, I run a size 3, and those are pretty darn strong.
  17. Yep, Xcalibur alone has discontinued several very good lures. They had a small jerk bait that they called the twitch bait that was essentially a pointer knock off, and it was a very good one. They had a bigger jerk bait they called the XS4, and I think they discontinued that too. I picked up all my Jimmys on eBay, probably averaged about $6 a piece on them, and they can't be beat for that price. I love my LC Sammys, but a Jimmy is virtually on par with them, and is much cheaper, they are top shelf lures.
  18. People use them. I use dual lock snaps all the time, especially on walking lures, which I throw a lot. I never use the swivel kind though.
  19. I do have one of these Xcalibur Wakebaits, it's a very good lure for sure. I always like what I see from Xcalibur, I have several of their lipless cranks, a couple jerkbaits, and my favorite which they also discontinued was the Jimmy walking lure, I've got about 20 of those.
  20. Those look like Xcaliburs, I believe they were discontinued, but can be found on eBay. There are quite a few different wakebaits out there, just search eBay, and also check out tackle warehouse, they'll have a bunch.
  21. Nope, I agree 100%. If people like King didn't destroy boxing, MMA probably wouldn't even exist.
  22. I post about once a year, on my birthday I get a few "happy birthday" wishes, I say "thanks everybody", and that's it. Social media definately isn't for me.
  23. I really like Yo zuri for moving baits, and even topwater. It gives away a good amount of sensitivity to fluoro though, so for bottom contact lures like jigs, I much prefer fluoro.
  24. I'm exactly the opposite, if I only could fish senkos, I'd probably just stay home. They're just so boring to fish.
