  1. Look at simply running a dual lock snap too, great for walking lures.
  2. I was initially surprised at the tip heaviness of my LTB as well, for me, changing reels made very little difference in balance. But once I actually started fishing it, I barely even noticed it. I'd just team it with a reel I like and start fishing the thing before I did anything else.
  3. Getting Cueto back will be a nice boost. I only see Cingrani coming back if there's an injury with a starter. While he did show promise, I can't see him taking Mike Leake's spot, and that's the only spot he'd have a crack at. I don't think he's fully ready yet, and Leake is no slouch as the 5th starter.
  4. The Reds always seem to find a way to embarrass themselves in Philedelphia, can't say I'm surprised.
  5. You need a bigger hook...I fish them on a 4/0 EWG.
  6. Interesting story, I don't see $100K ever happening though. C2s are valuable, but it's a convertable, not a split window 63, so it's definately not the highest value C2. Frankly 40K might have been overpriced, it's largely dependant on what paperwork he has, that stuff is absolutely everything. Reguardless, hell of a waste, how could someone treat one like that...then turn down a $40K offer? They think it's that valuable, yet they treat it like crap.
  7. Sammys are great lures, they're not necessarily a lot easier to walk, but they are a better lure. Keep your eyes peeled for some Xcalibur Jimmys, they're essentially a Sammy knock off, but an extremely well done one. They can often be found very inexpensively compared to a Sammy too.
  8. Odd, I ran into the same thing last year...twice! Two different locations too, I found several sunfish in a tiny puddle someone had damned up with rocks by my local river, and a couple bluegill by a pond, damned in the same fashion. I couldn't figure out why somebody would do something so stupid. I was fortunately there in time to save nearly all of them in both cases.
  9. I'll add a buzzbait to the list...I don't know why, but the big ones really seem to like them, at least for me.
  10. I think it's generally the Recons that have the slower actions, I've heard the M1s are more true to their rating, but I don't own one. I really like the Phenix Recons I own, hopefully some M1 owners will step in, that 7'8" M1 has caught my attention too.
  11. That's one I've been wanting to try.
  12. I do like the Cavitrons, but I still love my clacker booyahs too, sometimes the fish here just like the faster, louder booyahs.
  13. I was catching them last year in March on top, different this year though, just earlier this week I got the first topwater bass of the year.
  14. I really disliked it. Had a couple 12# spools that were full of little imperfections right out of the package. The abrasion resistance was the worst of any fluoro I've ever used. I won't be using it again.
  15. I definately couldn't have said it better than RGIII.
  16. The Reds need to keep Phillips in the 4 hole permanently, the guy can drive in runs, he's probably the best clutch hitter on the team.
  17. I have to give the Reds management credit for getting Shin Soo Choo, that guy has been incredible. I bet he's been on base more already this year than Drew Stubbs was all of last season.

Some of the the older Smiths did rival the Python in build quality, but most would agree they just didn't have the look of the Python, and Colt had the edge in bluing as well. In their prime no one could match Colts finishes, their bluing was amazing, and made even more impressive when you consider the number of pistols they were building at the time. Korths are on even another level, I'd like to own one someday, but it would defiantely be pretty far down the road.
  19. I say spend the extra coin and buy the best quality you can afford. I'm weird when it comes to boots though, I've spent as much as $700 on a pair.
  20. Yeah that was cool. I hope the Reds will be bringing Teddy back some more, he's a lot of fun, and he's even been good luck.
  21. I am in disbelief that the Reds just swept the Phillies. I know it's just a three game series in April, but it's the Reds first sweep of the Phils since 1996. It's been a massively one sided series for a long time, more bad memories than I care to think about.
  22. If you've got that kind of coin though, you may as well go with something from Heirloom Precision, or one of the other well established elite smiths. I'd forget about a custom 1911 as an investment, they're great for pride of ownership, but they have absolutely horrible resale value.
  23. The SD has brass gears, longer aluminum handle, different spool that's braid ready, no external lube port, only has mag brakes, and weighs about 7.8oz, vs. 6.7 oz on the TP. I own several of both, I like the SD for heavy cover, but a TP would still work. Both models have been selling low on eBay lately, and I've loaded up on both.
