After heavy rain?
Caught a few, which was actually better than I expected. When I saw online that the water level was over 7 feet above summer pool, I just had to go down there and take a look, I know that's the highest it's been in years. There was debris and loose docks floating everywhere, and the road into Cedar Grove Marina was flooded. The fish were really spread out, I tried quite a few different things, and ended up catching all of them off of people's flooded lawns. Fish were feeding on the worms there, one of the bass I caught had a huge mouthful of them when I looked.

After heavy rain?
That sucks. Hope things go smoother next time. Were you on Norris? I was there earlier today.

Yesterday...a first and a humbling
Norris has made me look bad a few times too! Still probably my favorite lake though. Better luck next time!

Vision 110 for smallies?
Works great on them here in my area, my go to lure in fact.

Laurel River res. KY
A little late, but I know that lake pretty well.

Spawn time = yawn time. I hate the spawn....... there, I said it.
I understand that point of view, I much prefer the pre spawn myself. The spawn is still a good time of year for me, but I don't care for bed fishing, feels too much like cheating.

Are the Megabass 110 jerkbaits worth the $?
I've only got a couple 110s, but I have one in French Pearl that is my absolute go to in low light conditions. I've caught more fish on that bait than any other single bait in my tackle box. I've heard a lot about bills breaking, but this one has held up for years now. So I'd have to say yes, they're worth the money. That said, I like the Rick Clunn STX very well too, I just change the trebles on them. If not for the STX, I'd definitely own more 110s.

The Beer Is Brewing, The Trash Is Flying, and The Race For The Pennant Is On!
I'm afraid it's gonna be another long year for my team.

Warning: Lengthy Tournament Report (South Holston Lake)
Congrats on a fine tourney, good write up too.

Cherokee East Tn
I was there a week or so ago, German Creek area, and didn't do too well myself. Two largemouth, one on a lipless crank, one on a spinnerbait, that was it. I tried a bunch of different lures, and fished a lot of different stuff too, just couldn't put anything together. FWIW, those two were pretty far back in the creek and on rock. I'm guessing they're kind of in transition there now, but I'm sure things will be picking up there very soon though, if they haven't already.

Is Seaguar Red Label 20lb. Test Any Good?
It's not bad, especially for $3.

Kentucky Anglers
Thanks! As for muddy water, I like a Black/Blue jig with some bulk to it. The fish should be very shallow and often tight to any cover. A chartreuse spinnerbait with some big gold blades, or a black/blue chatterbait should be good options too. I admit I'm no muddy water expert though!

First Smallmouth Trip
If you can edge on up to the Northeast part of Tenn., Norris and Cherokee are chock full of smallies!

First cast = fish; bad luck?
It's definitely bad luck. I always make a short first cast and burn it back in just to be sure I don't catch one on the first cast.

A true original. May he rest in peace.

Kentucky Anglers
Starting to see a few shallow bass now on Laurel, caught this one yesterday:

Seguar Red Label
I've used the 20# for jig fishing for a couple years now and I like it pretty well. Lots of memory, but it's tough, and affordable, which is nice because I'll go though a few 175 yard spools a year.

MLF Format
I like the format, but I agree that it can be boring watching them catch little fish one right after another. Fishing to me is all about trying to catch the biggest fish.

Bad day to be a jerkbait
Dang! I think I might have broke one hard jerkbait in the last couple years, and I throw them all the time.
-
Lucky Craft Live Pointers
Agreed. I love jerkbaits, but never have warmed up to the Live Pointer.

**** Time Change Tonight ***
Yep, I'd like year around DST. I know there's a method to the madness, but I hate that we fall back when the days get shorter, seems totally backwards to me. When it gets dark at 5:30, that's what I find really depressing.
