  4. Glad to see your honey hole is working for you. Thanks for the update. It's sleeting here so seeing you out in a tshirt catching bass helps keep the spirits up.
  5. Tell you what you Florida guys make me jealous with all your bass holding water.
  6. Caught this earlier this year; Caught this two years ago;
  7. Hope it works out for you. Keep us posted.
  8. Way to go. Those are amazing numbers. Hopefully you will hit 3000 this year.
  9. Great write up. Sounds like you gave her your best. You'll get her next time.
  10. Great write up Charlie. Thanks that will help a lot.
  11. My personal favorite is when the lure is bigger than the fish. At least you got something, snowed her in Va again so....we will see.
  12. At that distance it is going to be difficult to get a picture with whatever you buy. To give you a reference point; to fill a frame, that is to have your object fill the majority of the area of the picture. An object at 100 yds with a 300mm lens would have to be 23 feet give or take.
  13. Yep either of those will do what you are looking for. To give you an idea of some of the kits out there. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B004Q79BIA/ref=redir_mdp_mobile?ref_=cm_sw_su_dp
  14. Congrats buddy. The things we do for free stuff. Sure you will do great. Have fun.
  15. Raider: I agree eventually you have to pony up. At a point in life there are winners and losers keep score. Slonezp: again I feel this isn't the kid but their upbringing teaching them mediocre is acceptable. I personally believe, from my experiences, the here you go trophy made me work harder but that may be because of my personal work ethic. Also we will always have people who strive for mediocre regardless of trophies.
  16. Then you should be fine with any entry level Canon or Nikon and they will more than likely have the ability to shoot HD video too. Like fly fisher said pick a price point and go from there. Kit with body, lens or two, battery and sometimes a bag will set you back 600.00 - 700.00. Check out eBay and amazon once you have an idea of the body you want. Pretty good kits on those sites.
  17. Staying away from the political...What's wrong with giving a kid a trophy. It doesn't change the fact he or she just lost. You think that the little chunk of pot metal is going to change the fact that the kid isn't going to work harder. People don't want the little trophy they want the 4 foot tall trophy that glistens in the sun and plays mp3's. I think we are being a little ridiculous by assuming that giving someone a congrats you lost memento, or a you suck less than you did plaque is destroying the competitive edge. We aren't talking about high school here we are talking little league. Sorry don't buy that giving a kid a lousy trophy is going to change their drive. That comes from the parents not the little trophy. Put it this way, you work at your job and you get paid. Regardless if you are the best employee or not you get paid. The bad ones get fired everyone else gets paid, the really good ones get bonuses. The idea that we wouldn't give a kid a trophy in little league for their effort is the same as saying you didn't bring in the most contracts we aren't paying you.
  18. Most modern DSLR will have burst modes as well as a sports setting. If shooting fast is a consideration look up the Contious shooting speed. Also make sure whatever you get shoots HD video. Might as well right?
  19. I shoot a wide variety of material as well as mentor students in photography. What I tell them is that for the most part when it comes to buying a camera, brand is a little part of it. Go see the cameras best buy has floor models, Walmart too. For the most part nikons/canons/etc are comparible in quality, features, and operation. Go see which one you like in your hand. Important thing to remember is that your cost is in lenses not necessarily the camera body. Also if any of your friends or family shoot on brand or another it is not a bad idea to try to purchases the same do you have someone who knows your brand and also might lend you gear. I will be more than willing to answer any questions you have but as stated above this is an immense subject to discuss without more details.
