  1. It is Largemouth for sure. They come in various colors combos having a lot to do with recent habitat, ie, fresh out of deep water very pale almost white, shallow for a while very much like your picture, muddy also very pale. I have caught them with black bloches on them. Last year in a tournament here in Il. I had one that was totally black. Have no esplaination for that one. Kelley
  2. Please post it Matt. I hope I get to see you again at Fork. Kelley
  3. It is a long term illness. I've hade it over 60 years. Kelley
  4. X2, David did five reels for me last fall and couldn't be more pleased with service and communications. Kelley
  5. I modify molds all the time with a dremel. I pour a 1/16 oz ball jig with a 4/0 Owner light wire hook. Took my PB Smallie with this jig, 6 1/2 lb. Kelley
  6. Maybe it can come to Lake Fork with us. Sure could get passed around and maybe some 'Share Lunker' MOJO. Kelley
  7. Bassinfreak2, I will take the room. I PM'ed you with my name. Let me know when to call and make arrangements. Thanks Kelley
  8. Reminds me of a 'Sunday Drive' in Eastern Kentucky where I grew-up. Kelley
  9. Set the mold on top of your lead pot while the lead is melting with the pour holes down. This will heat the mold. I have to use a insulated glove on the hand I hold the handle with but can pour a 1/16 shakey head ball jig with wire and a 4/0 owner light wire jig hook perfect every time. I pour a few blanks (no hooks or wire) just to make sure it is hot enough. Kelley
  10. All of the above when the water temp reaches th high 50s. Kelley
  11. JB Weld works for me. Get at any auto parts store or Wal-Mart.
  12. Brad Paisley's Fishing Song fits me to a "T". I started in highschool telling ever girl (later women) that I hunted and fished. If they couldn't take it then now was the time to stop the relationship. I am now on my third wife and so far she tolerates my hobbies.
  13. Anyone who has put a boat in the water has left the plug out. Maybe all of us don't want to own up to it. ;D ;D
  14. "Time on the water". If you observe and are willing to learn IMO this is the best tip ever.

  16. If you reload save the shot. Go to your local tire store and get the old wheel weights. They wil do fine for Jigs, Spinnerbaits, and buzzbaits. I don't know how you plan to melt your lead but if you have a turkey or fish fryer and some sort of cast iron pot or pan large enough this will work fine. Dirt and steel on the wheel weights will float to the top and you can skim it off with a spoon. This will give you a clean lead alloy. I use a cornbread stick aluminum and a cast iron one to make ingots. You can either use a ladle or buy a Hot Pot, this is an electric ladle. Do It molds are the best I have found. Hope this helps.
  17. The spawn starts at 55 degrees and I have seen bass on the bed into the mid 70s. The larger fish go on the beds first around 55. The peak of the spawn is 62 to 65.

Dink, I don't sell them anymore. Be there done that and it cut into my fishing time too much. Sorry. If I ever get back into it will let you know.

I make them for myself and friends in 1/8, 1/4, 3/8 & 1/2 oz. I buy the components and pour the lead.
  20. CJ, the one thing that you mentioned that I follow is solunar charts. I use it in both fishing and hunting. If you have ever been in the woods and is so quiet you could hear a mouse f**t, All at once the woods come alive, birds singing, squirres romping, deer moving, are at or near the time the charts say. I always try to be at my best spot during that time peroid. It works for me.

I never thought of a rotisserrie motor. I just happen to have a extra one. Thanks Guys.
  22. Sells tax here in IL is 6 1/2% Matt. I have a friend who lives in Kansas and Registers his boat in Okla because of fees and taxes. It is legal as long as you tell the DNR that you fish more tha 50% of the time in Okla.
  23. I've been out well over 40K already this year and haven't wet a line yet(I won't admit how much over 40K). Triton 21X, Rods, Reels, Line, Plastic Baits, Crank Baits, Jerk baits, Topwater, ect, ect. What the heck, I am retired and am spending my son's inheritenance. I made it and hope I can spend it all before I die. The devil of it all is I had a bulding a little larger than a 1 car garage so full of tackle you have to pick your way through it and 4 other boats. My son says he is going to put out a contract on the Bait Monkey.
