  1. I just think if anyone can get out on the water to do their own experimenting, that's really the only way to be confident.
  2. If I could fish in the nude I would
  3. 1. Do fish have feelings? I wouldn't think they have nerves in or around the mouth. 2. Have you ever had it happen where you were fishing and a fish took your bait AND hook? Yes, nothing you can do but to hope the fish survives. 3. Has anyone ever found out what happens to a fish (any fish) when they take your bait and hook? Some may die depending on the bait and or how the hook is digested,I have caught many bass with hooks still lodged in throat. After quite some time the hook will become coroded and the barb rusts off, I usually use the "U" method of taking the hook out with pliers not pulling. 4. Have you ever been fishing, caught a fish, reeled it in, and could not get the hook out of its mouth?Yes, I try to do the best on cutting out the barb or sharp edge without pulling....I have killed very few but they usually get deep fried. 5. Be objective with this question like I'm trying to be: Is there anything wrong with fishing to where you fish for the fun of it? I know in modern times, people aren't going to fish for sustenance, so is it wrong (by anyone's standards that you know of) to fish for the sport of just fishing alone, while practicing catch and release? Depends on the situation and the person. Fishing to me can be both relaxing and stress-free, other times it can be competitive. 6. What is animal cruelty, is there a universal definition, and even if there isn't, have you ever been accused of animal cruelty for simply having a nice time fishing while practicing catch and release? What were the reasons behind the person(s) claim that what fishing, while practicing catch and release, is animal cruelty? Good ques,? 7. How much time do you have from reeling the fish out of the water until you have to release it so that it can live, and not die while being out of the water? Usually no more than 1-1 and a half min.
  4. Somewhere in the 200-250 range.
  5. Most bass on a bed, depending on the angle of the light reflecting into the water always looks smaller than the actual size.
  6. All you need is: 1. Leader 2-4ft max 2. Egg sinker preferably 1/2 oz 3. No larger than 5/0 hook 4. favorite worm or soft plastic, you should do your own experimenting on the lure.....it builds your confidence bait.
  7. Yes, I also use this site. You can mark spots and or structure without posting publicly.
  8. Yup carolina rig is all you need and some sensitive line, medium heavy rod (7ft),and learn how to seperate the feel of structure VS the actual bite.
  9. My intake is if you have access to such areas take advantage of the fun, when you want more of a challange go to your public lakes.
  10. Well it just depends, with the crazy weather thus far this year believe it or not some bass are still bedding, most of them are in the post-spawn stage. I always start off shallow early during the post spawn and I like to hit every tree I can and faster. Usually when the water temp reaches high 70's and lower 80's I will fish shallow but more so in the morning before sunrise and right and a little after sunset, looking for the top-water bite. During the day I will fish off of main points and humps with a carolina-rig and a deep diving crankbait...hope this helps.
  11. if the water isn't infessted with snakes im going in.
  12. Man when I first started bass fishing, the story you are saying reminds me of the time at a local reservoir and the same thing happend. Droped off to some secondary points and it was the opposite reaction.
  13. Good ole pop-r has never let me down black and silver.
  14. Well I wouldn't take the plastics out of the picture, I do my homework before an outting usually looking up fishing reports:weather, water temp, pattern the bass should be in,ect...post spawn is approaching for most of us for some the spawn is just starting. Know what baits work during spring during the whole prespawn, spawn, postspawn.
  15. Yeah, spring can be frustrating, just like summer...
  16. They are resting after the honeymoon!
  17. My first option would be a spinnerbait, way tah go!
  18. Well, how deep does the water go off the bank?
  19. that bass's head is huge
  20. Just know to cast into the wind, baitfish are usually pushed to the shore when the wind picks up and a spinnerbait and shallow diving crankbait would be the go-to bait.
