  1. All I know is that C&R has been proven to the specific waterway, to increase the numbers of bass and it has been proven that C&R does work.
  2. Stick with the fish you found and remember the next step is if they arn't there move shallower...good luck
  3. Yes, topwater works, but spinnerbait would do very well also....and if you are on shore throwing from the bank may I suggest a c-rig.
  4. It's a shame im gonna miss you guys this year, unfortunitly, I have been called to duty and will be out of the country....hope you all have fun.. -Andrew
  5. Beaver tried to jump in my boat with me while hooking a 3lb bass....the other one trying to go through a bridge where there is not much space and seeing all the freakin spider screamin like I had seen a ghost.
  6. I had some of this happen to me this year, the lake i was fishing was pretty low not to bad put under average. By the time it was "spawning time" the lake had come up 2 ft and into the bushes and trees thinking they would be all up in the bushes and trees, nope only bucks and then relized that not only were the males there to build beds the females where still in 6-8ft of water.
  7. There is really no other studies published that is a newer study that I can find, I do believe that everyone one does have their OP whenit comes to this topic, it's a great topic and does need to be addressed to most of the states wildlife biologist. You have to take into play also studies that you won't see publically unless there is a major problem is that when most researchers and biologist do there study they use a hydroelectric shock, sending most of the fish in the area into a paralized state, the researchers then conduct there test, including diseases and the age of the bass. Some researchers also tag the bass with chips to conduct their patterns and how long they survive.
  8. they are fry (baby bass) most won't live to see another day but a year from now they can grow up to 8 inches and two years from now they will be 2 yr old largemouths.
  9. You must first know the seasonal patterns then everything else comes into play
  10. catfish, bass on beds, carp and or bluegill getting chased or other baitfishsh also turtles.
  11. I don't agree with the study done at all, i've caught many of bass with hooks still in their throats and all i do is cut the barb and gently pull the hook out in a u motion the hook being metal has already detererated and it's much easier, I could see if the bass swallow most of the plastic and the plastic not beig digested, but I don't believe the rate is high on catch and release. On the other hand I do think that if you deep hook a bass in the throat or in the gill the bass decease rate is higher. Also the catch and release method has been provin that it does work and numbers of bass have gone up.
  12. Night fishing is absolutly the best advantage to have during the hot summer months bigger bass will move into shallower water due to the low-light conditions and they will feed, that's why they get so darn big. Darker baits, topwater slow, colorado blade spinner bait because of the vibration.
  13. You could always get a special permit from the city and make a deal with them to do community service.
  14. Awsume thank you for the clarification.People amaze me about lies sometimes.
  15. Best thing to do is read on the internet about the certain species the way they: spawn and or their seasonal pattern and where they reside...then you can get out on the lake and learn about them.
  16. I just don't know...??? Hopefully others have seen this?
  17. I was sent this picture while on leave, supposidly this crappie was caught out of Kerr Reservoir out of NC....7lbs was said to be the weight but no word from NC WLRC or IGFA?????
  18. Okay so check it out the bass are mostly on the beds, heck the water is up 2-3ft and in the bushes...water is very staind...put in at Ledge Rock area if anyone is having a problem fishing the lake just send me a PM and i'll try to help you out.
  19. Just have to keep an eye on the moon and water temp. Bass will continue to spawn until the water reaches 75. This year has been weird most def. it's good experimenting weather.
  20. Yeah I had this prob in NC too at Falls lake all that dern rain came in and now the water is in the bushes and I was so happy but didn't know that the bass were already spawning before the water came up 2ft and had to pull out of the water I was sitting in and fished that....so the beds were in 3ft instead of a foot.
  21. Yeah J I didn't do to hot due to the rain and the lake rising up about 2-3ft into the bushes....I started to fish all the submergered bushes and nadda, only buck bass no females so I had to drop back and I caught her but then the high pressure front came in right before my tourny and I didn't do so well...it's been rough with the pattern and the lake rising.
  22. Dag-on Big-O you have had a great year thus far.
  23. Caught this mama on a bed...she wasn't huge but she was def a keeper and I wish she would have bitten at the tourny lol.
