Icast Preview
Glenn, I don't suppose you have an extra pass to Icast laying around. I would love to get in and see this stuff close up!

Boat Buckles?
I was just wondering, how do you know if you need the bracket adapter for mounting boat buckles to your trailer? Do you just have to try it first and then buy the adapter if it does not fit? I could not find any info on how to mount on different trailers. Thanks.

New Glock Anyone?
Has anyone bought the new glock 43 and how does it compare to the M&P shield 9mm? Thanks.

Deflate-Gate!
I don't think Belicheat should get out of this squeeky clean. Even if he didn't know about it, as head coach he is responsible for his players actions pertaining to the game and also responsible to the Patsies organization to uphold the NFL's rules, morals, ethics and standards. If a team does not have a good season, who is the first person fired? ---- The head coach. He is responsible to see the team perform well, by the rules of the game.

Brady??
Brady, a sixth round draft pick would just be another QB if it wasn't for his first cheat known as "The Tuck Rule" - aka- Brady fumbles the ball in the snow. I always love how if any defensive player gets within sneezing distance of Brady, the officials call them for roughing the passer. What a joke!

Why Is It That Hardbaits Are Not Common In The Most Popular Soft Bait Colors?
The realistic colors on cranks are to catch anglers not fish. One of my best cranks has no paint left on it and it catches better than any others.

Why Is It That Hardbaits Are Not Common In The Most Popular Soft Bait Colors?
I thought about this as well. I believe the reason is that cranks and such are moving so fast that the fish do not get a good look and just see the movement, flash or outline. Soft plastics move slowly so color is more of an issue to give it a life like look as the fish get a better look at the bait.

Brady??
What happens if this guy comes in and plays great? Suddenly Brady is not worth so much. Belicheat loves to go with younger players??

Deflate-Gate!
I find it funny that a defensive back who hardly ever handles the ball in a game, immediately new something was wrong, yet the official who spots the ball on the field each play never noticed anything? Hmmm! Even though they outplayed the Colts, the Patriots should have been disqualified in that game, and the Colts awarded the victory. In any other sport, if you are caught cheating in a game it is an automatic DQ. That way we would not have cheaters as champions, which is a hard thing to explain to kids. That DQ would have hurt the Patriots more than any fine or penalty and would send a stronger message. Also this whole thing would have been over long ago. The fine is a joke, Kraft carries more than that in his pocket. Moving forward the league, not the teams should bring the footballs under lock and key to the games. If you don't like the footballs provided because they are too hard, suck it up, you are a professional making millions to play a game. In other words, Hike up your skirt princess, THIS IS FOOTBALL!

Flurocarbon Tired Of Paying For It
If your water is not clear just use straight braid. It is strong, plenty sensitive, and no extra knot to fail. Off shore salt water is really clear and many of the guys I know use straight braid out there. If it works in clear salt water it should work in semi - clear fresh water. I use straight braid and did not notice a decline in strikes from using other lines. Many years ago, they used a dacron braid that looked like twisted black thin rope, I remember seeing it on my gramps old levelwind reel. They caught fish with it, so unless your water is super clear braid will work fine, with or without a leader.

Minus 1 Question
I had that happen with some of my very old rattletraps. After sitting in a tackle box for a long time the paint on 2 of them was very sticky. I also noticed it on a storm thunderstick once. It must be a chemical reaction from plastic that off gasses and changes the outer finish of the paint. I still have the baits and have not figured out how to take care of the sticky paint without a repaint. I have considered spraying them with a clear coat, but not sure if that would help.

Ned Rig Imitator
I have made some of the ned type rigs. but used heavier jig heads and fished faster. Let me tell you it works. You don't have to go finesse on this. I believe the erratic fall of the bait is the trigger.

Ethanol Any Worry?
Car and truck engines are now designed to work with the ethanol fuel. Any smaller engines, boat, lawn equipment, snow blowers, pressure washers, generators, etc. the ethanol = death. Around here you can get ethanol free fuel, but the cost is too high. It is cheaper to buy the regular ethanol fuel and a good fuel supplement that will take care of the ethanol and preserve the fuel longer. Sta-bil, Startron, or Seafoam will do the trick and can be found on sale often. Buy yourself a case, it will not go bad. Using premium fuel will make your engine run a bit hotter. That could be good in some cases, but in most cases a warmer engine is not a good thing. I am not an expert, just my opinion, and this has worked well on my almost 30 year old outboard engine and it still runs like new.

Making The Switch Back From Fluoro To Mono..
Just go back to mono. Mono lines have greatly improved in the last few years. The type of fishing you are doing is not real subtle or finesse, so you will still feel the bites with a good mono and a good rod.

Do You Like Fluorocarbon Line?
I tried it and did not really care for it. It does not seem very manageable, kind of stiff and easy to snap and break, needs to lay on the reel perfectly, needs extra conditioner and very carefully tied, or special knot tying. These seem like some of the little things that take a bit of the fun out of fishing. I have bought several spools of FC and may give it another try. The sinking characteristic is not a big plus because our lakes are shallow and weedy. With the majority of responses on this thread being against FC why do all the pros, like KVD, insist that FC is the best? Is it just because they are paid to sell it? I guess I am still on the fence. Mono and braid have served me well so far.

Can You Identify This Lure
That is a bait originally made by the Clark Co. called a "water scout". Later they were just made by the water scout bait company. The newer version is called the Spence Scout and is or was manufactured by Strike King. Originals were produced in the mid 30's and had no eyes. Most you find today were made much later probably in the 80's & 90's.

Red Spinnerbaits
I have never tried an all red spinnerbait, but red and white has been a good color. I would think the all red would work well in the spring when red cranks seem to work best. I would also throw it on any cloudy days or low light situations. Let us know how you do with it. Heck it may work anytime. Good Luck!

Trailer Jack Question
I have an old trailer jack now that just goes up and down, no swivel back while towing. I normally just crank it all the way up and then go, however that does get to be a pain in the back side. I am thinking I should replace it with a swing up style but I am not sure if it will fit. Right behind where the jack is mounted to the trailer, the trailer branches to a wide Vee shape. Will there be room to swing it up without hitting the trailer? I have never really looked at others to see how they swing up into position. Any help? Thanks. BTW, My trailer tongue is a 2.5 inch square and boat, motor, & trailer weighs about 2400 so I believe a 1000lb jack is probably the right size?

Golf Course Bass Fishing
Is it very easy to get permission to fish golf course ponds? Most seem to be very uptight about their property and do not want anyone around except the golfers. I would love to give it a try, but have been shy about contacting any local courses. I would obviously act appropriately and keep the area clean and release all the fish, stay quiet, and out of the way. Just not sure they would want anyone around. If you got permission to fish on a golf course how did you go about it? Thanks.

Repainted Lures
I had some lures repainted and they look amazing. They came out like factory originals. Tim Hughes did the painting and I could not be happier. I wish I would have had them repainted years ago. If you ever need a lure repainted give him a call. Great job and I got them back in the mail in only 2 weeks!

H2O Lures?
Just got an Academy store in the neighborhood. I like the looks and the price of their H2O line of baits. Can anyone tell me which ones work the best? Thanks.
