What Lure Is This?
I believe it is a Woods Manufacturing spot tail minnow. If you look into it on the internet you should be able to find a matching photo. Good luck.

Quantum Smoke Or Abu Garcia Mgx?
I know everyone has there company loyalties, but I want a small lightweight baitcaster that is reliable and will be a good casting reel for the long haul. I already own a pixy and love it, I am looking for something similar for a bit less cash. Has anyone used these and how do they compare? Thanks.

Spinning Reel Help
I have a 5 year old shimano stratic 2500. love the reel, but every once in a while the bail snaps shut during the cast. I know it was opened all the way before I cast and do not know if there is a fix ? Thanx.

Rapala Super Shad
I know these are big lures at almost 6" and designed to catch muskies, but could they work for LMB, or are they simply just too large? has anyone used one successfully for bass fishing? Just figured I would ask before purchasing another lure that will not work like I had hoped. Thanks.

Why Anglers Stop Fishing
I quit fishing recently do to simple economics. I got a different job that doesn't pay much and the cost of fuel for a truck and boat is simply too much. If my income ever increases I will dive back in hook, line, and sinker.

How To Take Photos Of Yourself With Fish
The camera with a fold out screen works the best. They do cost more, but you can see exactly what you are shooting. Many small camcorders also have this foldout screen feature, mount on a tripod, and they will also shoot a still photo. Make sure the sun angle is shining on your face or use the flash, and smile you just caught one.

Anyone Use Stabil In Their Gas?
I have been using the red stabil for many years without any problems. I also add seafoam a couple times each year to clean out deposits. It works great!

Trailer Bearings
I was just curious how often you grease your trailer bearings. I am sure it depends on the amount of miles you drive. I give it a shot with the grease gun once each year. I don't normally pull the boat very far from home. How often do you guys grease trailer bearings?

Trailer Tires
Thanks for the replies. I took it to a tire shop today. They told me that a straight axel trailer cannot really be aligned. It is possible the axel is bent, but not likely. The tires I had were just too old. They were not totally wore out on the outside but the rubber on the inside was breaking down causing the lumpy look. They also were never balanced. The old tires were bias ply and kind of a older cheaper type. I got two new radial tires and had them balanced. I am hoping this solved all the problems, time will tell. I was lucky, the guy said these tires could have blown out at any moment. Just a reminder to all, visually check your tires closely each month.

Crankbait Lip Replacement?
I bought a piece of lexan from home depot and it was the perfect thickness. I cut and sanded and tried to remember what the original was like. I glued it back in place and it looks really good. I will give it the true test next trip. Thanks for the help.

Trailer Tires
I have a single axle trailer for my 16' fiberglass bassboat. I noticed that the inside 1/2 of tread on each tire has worn down some and looks and feels almost lumpy as you move your hand around the tire? Do trailer tires need alignment and balancing? Should I buy new tires? What do I need to do? Please help. Thank You.

Crankbait Lip Replacement?
I have a couple older wood crankbaits that lost the clear plastic lips. Where can you get some to glue in, or what material can I make some new ones out of? Thanks for the help.

Alabama Rig?
I think this A rig looks ridiculous. Do you really think 5 lures at once will help? How many fish do you need to catch on each cast? Reminds me of the die hard spec fishermen with rods out all around their boat. It looks more like harvesting than fishing. Just as well troll a net behind the boat. Where is the sport? Others already stated if you get a double or better there is no real fight. To me it looks like a snag factory. If you like it, go for it. I will stick with one rod and one lure at a time. It simply seems more sporting to me. JMHO.

4 Fantastic Days On Lake Toho
Capt Shane, Looks like a great trip to central Fl. Those Toho bass are real fighters. Shingle creek produces if we have rain and current flowing. What side of the lake were you on when you were escaping the wind? When the wind picks up, Toho can get real dangerous in a hurry. Thanks for sharing the great video and photos. Someday I hope to get down to your area for some S. Fl bigmouths and maybe a peacock bass.

B.a.s.s. Techniques Dvd (Epic Waters)
Did anyone else get this dvd in the mail? They did the same thing with books a few years back. You watch the dvd, like it, send cash and they send more dvds. Don't like it, send it back postage paid. It even says in the letter, since you did not ask for this dvd legally you can keep it. I don't get it. Why don't they just sell their products on the web or at BPS & Cabelas? I would think all this mailing would cost more than what they bring in.

Why Are Our Forums Different Than The Rest?
I have tried other forums but always return here. To be honest I can't remember my passwords for the others, because I never use them. I think the participation here is the best thing we have. You can get an answer to a fishing question in a couple minutes by someone who is very knowledgable. We have a vast array of people on here from all over with different experiences and backgrounds. From a young kid who fishes farm ponds to a tournament pro. If you listen and participate you can usually learn something from all. To sum it up, experience and knowledge readily available by good anglers and decent people willing to help.

Panic Box
If you have a panic box or just a place you keep some lures that can possibly save the day. What do you keep there? I normally have a small box of down sized stuff that can help trigger a bite. Normally won't catch a big fish, but some small 1-2 lbers keeps the skunk away. 1. a small size senko 2. a beetle spin 3. a small spoon 4. a small rapala 5. a mepps spinner These have saved a tough day a few times. How about you?

Live Bait...your Opinions
Bass fishing is a wonderful sport. I use artificial lures most of the time because it makes it even more sporting and a bit more challenging to trick a fish into trying to eat or kill a piece of wood, metal, or plastic that he, under normal conditions would never even approach. When I want to try for a larger bass in a limited time frame, I have been known to throw a live shiner. Normally I do not use shiners, because it takes time to catch shiners, they are expensive to buy, and a pain to keep alive and haul around. People around here sometimes look down on shiner fisherman, calling it lazy fishing or no skill fishing. I disagree. You still have to find the fish and present the bait at the right depth. Those same individuals use minnows and multiple rods when crappie fishing and think nothing of it. Use what you like, Have fun, stay within the law. Consider C&R, and don't say anything bad to kid who is fishing. That kid could be involved in much worse activities.

Mysterious Heddon Lure
It is hard to tell from your pictures, but I believe you have a young wounded minnow #1500 made by Paw Paw. Creek Chub made a very similar lure called injured minnow #1500. Hope this helps.
