I was a bit disappointed by the new lures this year. I was hoping for something new, different, and revolutionary. Seems like everyone is trying to copy something that is already offered. Maybe we are getting beyond the realm of innovative lures. There is only so many ways to make a minnow plug, crankbait, topwater, spinnerbait, spoon, or plastic creature/worm and we already have every color available. Your thoughts?

Seafoam in all my small engines for many years, and never have had a problem.

Check your drain tube, it should be real smooth. If there is any bumps, corrosion, mineral deposits, or growth, the rubber plug will not give a good seal. Sometimes you can carefully polish it smooth with emery cloth, fine sandpaper, or even a dremel with a fine polishing type wheel. If it is in rough shape and you can't get it real smooth, it may need to be replaced.

What I mean't was city, state, or federal, it doesn't really matter. It simply adds up to too much already. To tax internet sales is taking things a bit too far. The small internet business is crushed and once again the consumer loses. If they took our taxes and spent them wisely it would not be that big of a deal. All members of government have to stick their hand out for more money to support their bad habits.

I am not sure how this new tax law is going to affect shopping on flea bay. I hope it doesn't. It was always kind of fun finding a good deal on a fishing lure. If John Doe bought a lure, then sales tax was already collected on that. If he decides to sell it, why should they collect taxes on it again? That seems illegal, immoral, and just plain wrong. I think uncle sam already gets more than his fair shair through income tax, property tax, and sales tax. Didn't we fight and win a war a couple hundred years ago about too much taxes? Sorrry mods if this rant is deemed too political, you can delete it. I just do not want them messing with my lure addiction and the pleasure of getting a good deal. Any thoughts?

Been looking for a cheaper spinning reel that still has decent quality and can handle weekend type bass fishing. I don't use spinning gear too much, so did not want to spend a lot. Sometimes spinning gear is just what is needed. Any suggestions? give price if you know it. Thanks.

People who try to launch or load their boat without getting the trailer tires wet, (just back it in, idiot), it won't jump on and off of the trailer! 4. People who take up several spots at the trailer parking area because they suck at driving. 5. Idiots in general.

I hate flourocarbon line, gave up on it completely. It is brittle, your knot must be perfect or it will burn or cut itself. Breaks if you look at it wrong. I tried several brands and all had the same issue. I fish all lures with straight braid or mono and do better than my friends who swear by flourocarbon.

I have yet to catch one on a chatterbait type lure. I hear some leave the skirt on and add a soft bait trailer, others remove skirt and add a soft bait trailer. What way seems to work the best for you? I assume the retrieve is similar to a spinnerbait, steady with an occasional pause? Any other bladed jig tips? Thanks.

Many of the monofiliment collection sites get sent to Berkley Lure Co. They recycle it into useable products. One neat deal they make is a fish habitat that you could put under your dock to attract fish. Strange, but the recycled line ends up back in the water in a much better way.

Personally, I switched to all 1/2 oz spinnerbaits. They cast farther, usually attract larger fish, and as mentioned above you can run at any depth with rod position and speed of retrieve.

I have never had one of the bang o lure with the tail prop. picked one up to try, but was unsure how to retrieve. If you jerk it, the prop spins and the bait dives. If you reel it steady, the bait goes under with prop spinning under water. If you hold the rod high and reel very slow you can keep it on top with the prop spinning slow sometimes. So what is the best way to work this lure? I have heard at times they can be very productive. Please share.

Need a new TM battery for a 12v motor. It gets heavy duty use, so I need it to be dependable and last on the water. Recommendations? Thanks.

I used to bite on the large lead sinkers when throwing a cast net to catch shiners. It works very well. I think the small bit of lake water that entered my mouth each cast was far worse than biting loosely on the lead.

I am guessing that you probably didnt do any real damage. Normally a high pitched overheat alarm is supposed to go off before damage is done. This time of year the water you were in was probably pretty cool and the outside temp was cooler this time of year as well. It would be best to have someone check your water pump components for piece of mind.

On the real prey, do you guys prefer the top hook model or the bottom hook? Just curious in case I save up some extra cash. Lol.

My favorite is not made anymore. It was a brand called Bulldog. I believe they were around in the eighties. Now I mostly throw War Eagle.

I got a few nice musky plugs at a yard sale. Most are about 7 inches long and about an inch wide and look like a giant jerkbait. I know bass hit large swimbaits like hudds and slammers, but are these too big or just not something a bass might strike at? We have no muskies or large pike around here so they may be kind of useless to me. I may just put them on ebay and make some cash for some real bass stuff. Your thoughts?

Thanks guys, I never thought of the nail polish idea. That should work really well for my application. As always, this forum is a true wealth of information from guys who have tried everything in the pursuit of bass.

I have some new jerkbait lures that I like, but they do not make the color I want. Can I just use a spray can and paint the back and bottom to my desired color? These are brand new baits, so is there any prep before spraying? Do I need to do a final coating of clear to protect? Sorry about all the questions, I have never tried this before and was just curious. Thank You.

I have always used mono for all of my topwater fishing, but recently had a couple of breakoffs. Does anyone use braid for topwater and is their any negative reason not to? I am not sure if I will make this change, but i am just curious. Thanks.

Number 11 is a lure called the Fincheroo by a company called Robfin. It came out in the early 70's Number 19 is a lure called the Water Scout from a company called CA Clark company. They started production in the 30's and continue today as the Spence Scout by Strike King Lure CO. P.S. Nice display he can be proud of.
