  1. does anyone know a homeowner on the private side of lake anna that would allow someone to launch their boat for a $100 dollar fee?
  2. if you want the absolute best rod you can get for under 100 dollars get a denali jadewood. you're probably being told a bunch of different rods but i promise you i've tryed dozens of them and there is nothing even close to as light, strong, and sensetive as this for under 100 dollars. go to www.denalistore.com to check them out. i fish about 15 tournaments per year and would happly pay 300 for my rods but i choose these over just about anything regardless of price.
  3. denalirods Better than G Loomis for half the price. and on top of that they look cooler. check em out.
  4. if this is a small time charity event I would use a total length format also... some club tournaments weight the fish by laying them in a clothes basket on top of a digital scale also.
  5. maybe sometime in the past this happened? flw and bass have a pontoon boot with large aerated tanks that they take all the bass back out and spread them around the lake/river so they aren't all released in the same area.
  6. the best jerkbait rod on the market is the denali micheal murphy signature series jerkbait rod
  7. there was no "double clarification" i was just trying to explain to you what sandbagging means because you don't seem to understand. so if you still "kinda see it as sandbaggin" then you still dont know what sandbagging means.
  8. was this meant to be a serious post?
  9. how will you ever find out how good you are if you never face competition that is better than what you are used to.
  10. sandbagging means you are underperforming on purpose to hide your actual skill level from others. an example would be you are playing pool in front of people so you make yourself look worse than you really are to get someone to bet on a game that you will then win because you are better than the person thinks you are based on the performance where you "sandbagged" . doesn't matter what sport it is thats what sandbagging mneans
  11. my all time favorite river rod is my 7ft medium denali rosewood. if price is an issue the denali jadewood is a very good rod also. in fact for the money i don't think there is a rod in the world that comes close to the denali jadewood for under 100 dollars. the only people who will disagree are people who' haven't used it and i promise you that.
  12. I have found this to be true also. a lot of people enjoy doing a lot of things but when someone enjoys bass fishing it is almost always their absolute favorite thing. i met a guy at my new job and once he found out i bass fish and go to tournaments we started talking all the time.. he fished the ranger millenium tournament which was the first million dollar purse tourney ever... in fact he was the leader after day 2 in that. ever since we've become pretty good friends. i've been trying to talk him into going to a local buddy tournament with me
  13. i just fished raystown this past saturday. water was 49 degrees at the surface. caught 3 largemouth and 1 smallmouth on a megabass vision 110.
  14. I would be scared to send these clowns ten grand for fear its going to be stolen and you'll see the world series of bass as some scam on the news in the near future.
  15. there is a lake about 10 minutes from state college that has some real big smallmouth in it. not a numbers type of lake but you can almost always catch a few and you do get the occasional giant. also has stocked fingerling brown trout in the fall. no boats allowed though... pm me if you want to know more , not a lot of people fish it so i don't want to talk about it openly on a forum.
  16. your doing something waaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyy wrong if your breaking 65lb braid on your hookset. Your either not tying your nots right or theres cracks in your guides. Use a palomar knot and your line won't break. its pretty simple 65 lb braid can rip tree's out of the ground its not breaking on the hookset your doing something wrong. I use 40lb braid and have never in my life broke on hookset except once or twice from a pike. if 10lb snakeheads aren't breaking 40lb braid a bass certainly isn't breaking 65lb braid.
  17. Are you also allowed fishing the Charles? The charles is a better bet for bigger fish but a good bag can come from either. in the mystic wood cover is far more common than grass. there are also some more "unnatural" cover that can hold bass... shopping carts, 55gallon drums, etc... water is usually fairly murky. the mystic has lots of herring.. alewives and bluebacks so immatating those would be a good idea. also dark colored jigs should produce as well. thats about all i got for you i haven't fished there many times
  18. amen brother, not sure why everyone hates the pickeral just take em off and toss em back
  19. you can launch your kayak anywhere you want why do you need a launch?
  20. if your talking about raystown lake or wallenpaupak throw the most realistic colored jerkbaits you have. or drop shot brushpiles
  21. i use my wifes nail polish. she has literally hundreds of colors. put on 3 or 4 layers and then use a good clear coat and it works pretty well.
  22. the down-river side of the islands would be something you might want to check out.
  23. pickeral don't take handling very well at all.. keep them out of the water for more than maybe 20 to 30 seconds and its going to die for sure
  24. check out www.pondboss.com you'll get answers from that site there are several actual biologists who post in their forums often. how old are these "ponds". ?? many newly impounded lakes have great smallmouth habitat for the first ten to fifteen years then as they age more sediment settles to the bottom causing a loss of rocky habitat and an increase in vegetation which leads to a decrease in smallmouth and increase in largemouth. lots of 2 to 3 lb bass in a lake in my neck of the woods would be like a gift from the gods by the way so you should feel lucky. if other lakes in your area are growing larger bass on the average than your lakes then forage is most likely your biggest problem.
  25. thanks.. i got rid of the oil pump and tank and now run mixed gas the oil alarm kept going off around 4500 rpms. i now have a top speed around 62mph with 2 men and gear . i had to mess with the jackplate a bit to get over 60mph
