  1. Bitsy bug with baby Rage Craw trailer. In cold water I use the River Bug trailer cut down. River killers on Smallies.
  2. I have a Bass Pro Shops 7ft 3 Carbon light 2.0. Spinning rod with a Carbon light reel 8 lb braid to a 8 lb mono leader. I use hair jigs soft plastics and jerk baits. I wade a lot and it works perfect here in the Ozarks smaller rivers. Plus it works good on a float and fly set up because I never usually go deeper then 6 ft.

  4. Dan Gapen of Gapens tackle passed away Sunday . He invited the ugly bug and Muddler minnow hair jigs. Two of the best River Smallie jigs every made. Meet him a few times really nice guy and one of the best River Fisherman there was. R.I.P.

  6. I have done good with them with a tube head rigged and swim em around shad . Always use lighter colors when targeting Largemouth . It shows em something different

  15. I live by Bass Pro in Springfield,And I miss the Bait shop back were I grew up. It was in Clinton Iowa it had everything for Smallie ,Walleyes or Catfish. It was a great place to shop or hang out with the Old River Rats. Like everything good in this country there slipping away. The good old days for sure
