recently got a boat and it would not into gear, figured it was where they was new cables and just wasnt ajusted right. so i came home and manually moved it on the motor, it kinda sorta locks in forward but if you give it a little push it will break over? Is this normal or should it turn my flywheel? its a late 80s black max 150 xr4

Lake temps start falling to low 50s to 40s what's your one go to pattern/bait? Mine would have to be drop offs and submerged brush and lip less crank and jig..

i have a late 80s blackmax 150 and the trim motor is shot. i cant get the front right screw out is there anyone that has changed one and how did you do it lol.. Looks like i could drill a hole in the bracket that holds motor on but dont really think that would be good. Thanks

It's a 1989 Gemini 179gt Bought pretty cheap has the xr6 150 blackmax came with deck ready extended and motor runs like a dream!

I have a late 80's xr6 blackmax 150 hit my trim switch both up and down and nothing but a loud click? Any suggestions? Motor I guess bled off and is now setting on ground so now I can't even move the boat? Would appreciate any help.

Thinks more about fishing, and or wanting to go when i cant? What does everyone do in the winter time?

So i came to conclusion my power pack was bad, changed it now have spark on all cylinders, boat still wont start anyway to help me diagnose the problem?

Just for cold starts your electronic choke still works i imagine, ideal for when you first start it. Have one on mine, just like these new boats except new one you pull your throttle lever out to put in neautral.

let a buddy borrow my boat, i get it back and take it out, starts up fine can rev up with lever but go to put in gear just dies. Smoke rolls out when i rev it up like maybe to much oil. Think new plugs and a little more gas will work? its a old merc inline 6 cyl 115

Boat has a 115 merc on it just not enough power for me lol its rated for a 150 but there isnt a weight diffrence in a 175 and a 150? Anyone have a little boat with big motor?

My dad passed away 5 months ago and this was the last boat he worked on, he did interrior, put gauges, basically complete restore. I put my 115 tower of power on it with a 6" jackplate. How yall think it will run. .And think i coud put trolling motor on front, plenty sturdy enough and beleive it or not its not slick.. Its a 1990 20' Shadown Tunnel Hull

True i have it off and can spin my prop shaft forward and its not spinning the shaft that would go on up in motor, but will turn it if i go counter clock wise it does.. Can hear it slipping in gear housing.. Taking it to someone tomorrow to get it fixed $$$$
