its not locking into forward

took lower unit off how do i get to the gears?

no havent checked it but i will, i really appreciate all the help like i said in recent posts my dad was a boat mechanic for 40 years and would always tell me what to do. Its almost as if its not goin in gear all the way.

got me another prop and it still wont go, anyone know how to adjust linkage?

If my hub is spun would it still work in reverse? If i pull boat out of water put in gear it spins just fine, but when under pressure wont take off. Will just barley push you.

Would it still work in reverse though?

It will spin out of water but under pressure it doesnt prop came off like it should.And thanks my dad was a boat mechanic for 32 years

The other day took the boat out and went to take off and sounded like it spun something and then wouldnt go into gear? its a 87 merc 115. What should i check my dad use to do all my boat work but he passed away 4 months ago any help would be appreciated. Thanks

i have a 17 ft tidecraft with a merc 115, has 6 in jackplate. Boat is only running 39 mph, only problem is my tach dont work.. The motor is as far down on jackplate as it will go, all of the boat isnt coming out of the water, only maybe back a foot before console is coming out. Gets on plan real good just like it wont trim up enough? Need to move my motor up right? If so how much? Anything would help thanks.

Recently bought a boat little older but runs amazing, wanting to get some electroics but dont have money to spend alot on one. Any ideas?

Yea it has a 6 inch jackplate so move it up some?

I figured but it would be different in its own way. I know I can't mount a trolling motor on the nose of it, at least I don't think.

17 1/2 Tidecraft with a Mercury Tower Of Power Motor, only runt 34 mph? isnt that just a little slow? Has a laser 2 3 blade motor runs perfect, but when trimmed all the way down it bogs a bit? But if i bump it up a click or two comes out of the hole no problem? Looks as if its tucked under boat to much?

Yes the transom has been redone, and boat is in excellent shape, always wonderd if i could cut the nose out and make a deck figured it would be fun to try to make a fishin boat

How would they run with a 115 on it? I have a motor and the boat? Be nice to have something a little diffrent.

I recently bought a boat its a 18ft Tidecraft with a 115, it looks to me that the motor trims down to much, on takeoff with boat trimmed down it bogs as if its getting flooded and if i trim it up a little it comes out of the hole no problem? How can i fix this? My dad passed away 3 weeks ago and was a boat mechanic for 40 years, hes no longer here to ask so im asking for some opinions?
