i have a 17 1/2 Gemini, Same as a laser, and it only has a minn kota edge 45lb TM bust its only a year old. How will it do with this boat? Its only 12volt So what can i do to maybe get more battery life, thought about just putting another battery and some gator clips on the wire and just changing batteries when one runs out. Anyone else do this or have done it in the past??

forward gear and clutch went out so i just got another used LU but i cant get it in i have tried everything turning prop, flywheel everthing, how long should the shaft be thinking i got the wrong LU

Really not suprised with answers. I have thrown texas rig every since i started fishing. Only reason i ask, 2 years ago my brother started throwing shakey head and now he doesnt even touch his texas rig. And swears that he has caught more fish. For me the t rig is for sure my most confident tactic to go to. Thanks for all the input..

Who throws what? I have always thrown t rig, but seems lately that alot of people have switched to shakey head? Whats the advantages/ dis advantages of it?

As most of you i assume just like me usually have 6-7 rods on deck at all time.. What all is tied on? For me its, texas rig, jig, spinner bait, crank bait, top water, shakey head, swimbait.

I know how you feel had my rods stolen out of my boat under my carport. Bad part was my dad was a semi pro fisherman and the man literally taught me everything g I know about fishing, and was a boat Mechanic for 35 years, I had about 5 of his outfits in there, and he passed away a year ago. In a way I hope I don't find out who took them because I lt would be a bad day for them. So I feel your pain man, they stole roughly 17 rods ir so and I'm back up to 12 of 13 look at pawn shops and flea markets be surprised what you'll find for cheap.

Well if I could fish with anyone for a day it would have to be my dad, he has been gone 13 months. The man taught me everything I know about fishing he was a boat Mechanic for 35 years and at one point t in time worked for Rowland Martin at his marina. He was 2 tourneys away fromantic the classic. Man what I wouldn't give just to fish with him one more time..

This will be my first real nice electronics. How is the sonar? And how does it show the bottom? Is it like down imaging or just go by heat?

Well I can say your doing it right, try lip less crank baits, and also spinner baits preferably Colorado blade. Hope this helps man.

26 pitch laser 2 rpm not to sure, but i guess i failed to mention its a laser, hull wieghs 700 or less, boat has recessed jackplate plus a 10in jackplate so motor is roughly 15 inches or so off back of boat be more than glad to take a video for you. its the xr4 smaller gear casing and low profile LU

I beg to differ i have a older Merc 2.5 150 Black Max with a 18ft boat and it will run over 70 easy..

Anone know about what a motor gets, really just curious? I have a 150 blackmax on a 18 ft boat, can run all day and use about a full tank.. Had an everrude on a 18 footer and it would use around half a tank? How much do you all use a day?

To me a recessed is alot better, If you think about it you really only are losing 8 inches or so of deck. Me personally i like recessed because its alot harder to kock stuff off, and if your anything like me im pretty clumsy lol
