  1. There might be a lot of truth to why our bass taste not great. They eat a LOT of gobies now before Gobies They were almost perfect flavor eating smaller game fish.
  2. " Boss Boss. Da Plane !! " Is full of worms.
  3. I was too interested in the visual watching to bother. 2 other fish did the same routine. You are right.
  4. Had some nice big ground SLUGS. Fish sucked them in. Less than 5 seconds later they were spit out undamaged
  5. Can not prove it buuutt. I only use the lures with the BRIGHT RED slash on the belly. Seems to catch more / faster.
  6. I got the Ultra itch way back. But the tiny reel spools did not like 4# Mono at all . Too much drag everywhere in the rod & reel. Plus the bail springs were way to stiff / tight. still have 3 of the Diawas in the drawer. Line take up was a joke when the fish came at me. The long fight usually resulted in a belly up pike 20 minutes after release.
  7. Most do not like the gamey taste of bass. Perch somehow are always good to them.
  8. It works equally well on both. Minnow & shad patterns catch both fish in N Y. Forgot the best lure pattern. Yellow perch. Everything eats them & gobies. Small lures are now made & colored to match them. Very effective. As bellies of bass are full of them when filleted out.
  9. I always " Match the hatch. "
  10. I can ABSOLUTLY, HIGHLY, WITHOUT RESERVATION recommend the 1970 edition of the Mitchell 300 reels.

Location location location When the fish are there...when the fish are there That has ALWAYS worked for me. Me ?
  12. Bingo Captain Phil. My Snow Bird Seniors agree totally. Why I meat fish for them all summer.
  13. You have COMPLETLY mastered the MOST DIFFICULT part of catching any fish. Or a particular type & size of them. So many things affect when & where they are. I would get Arthritis attack if I listed all the variables. Are your waters busy during daylight & weekends ? If yes ? I would go right to sunsetting & 1 hour after it to see if they get active. You can use any 2 to 3" float then dives when retrieved lure. Speed is not important in darkness.
  14. Fresh caught & filleted. Ours actually smell slightly sweet aroma. Perch can also.
  15. I saw a ABBA knockoff touring group in Clayton Opera House. Very memorable to me. I enjoy GO GO Boots on a stage with excellent voices. cold water should be searched with MEAT !! To be sure they are there. Then switch to Finesse.
  16. HA HA HA Thank you Tn ?
  17. Lateral lines work after sundown. Much fishing during daytime ? Weekends ?
  18. I am living proof that LUCK always beats skill. Friends rate my intelligence at 2 times that of a doornail.
  19. Many thanks Guy. I can have them bring a larger plastic bag with some ice in it.
  20. " O K guys. Lets really confuse the beans out of these guys. Split up . 1/2 bite Mono. 1/2 bite Flouro. The other 1/2 of you bite anything else. "

Sadly If you can find a Canadian lake never fished. Beer can Pull Tabs catch everything. I am going back to 60 and more years..
  22. Great post about bearings. Add in The total WEIGHT of ALL spinning parts that MUST be STARTED to spin the spool. It is called inertia of breaking free of being stopped / at rest. Larger spools are hopeless against tiny lightweight spools. HO HO HO As a 3' pike grabs your lure. ?
  23. I have to agree on who bites first in springtime schools of perch. I catch all the small ones first . Sometimes 2 on 1 lure. Then the bites are fewer. But larger fish every so often. Eventually the largest, farthest away, take a chance.
