There is 1 outstanding FEATURE of fly casting. I can lay a bass lure in the exact same spot right under TALLER DOCKS. Or right next to a boat & dock. False casts to get distance. Then a left or right movement. Very effective. Some fish jump the gun on a false casts. Point is I NEVER have hooked a boat cover or dock. Spinning & docks ? many in a breeze.

Montreal Canada had a winter kill of a large pond near town. Thousands of fish dead. I am now wondering if MY BAY also had a winter kill last winter. The sneaky way mother nature can conceal it. Is by the large drop in water levels. By the main dam controlled by the electric power company. Low levels. Covering snows stop oxygen production. Water currents with the main river could carry away the fish bodies as they die. No big deal in the St. Lawrence river all winter with no water attention. It is always something.

Animal lovers have always caused shark problems with their ................Lets have ALL THE SEALS possible along the ocean beaches...............Any top shark will kill any animal TRESSPASSING in the seal beaches. Right Seals are to be allowed to over populate any area. Then blame anything except the animal lovers.

I cast right ......reel with left hand. Right is far stronger & MORE ACCURATE casting.

Somebody has not had a large fish swim deeper & deeper into 3' tall grass & spend over 15 minutes pulling at maximum tension quietly cutting away loads of grass all the time. I do not let a fish get tangled up & break off the line. PLUS leave a trebled hook lure in the throat or gills. I do not leave a wounded animal to die in the weeds. I caused it. I have to do my best to free it.

If we accept the fact that most every pound test line breaks at about 2X the rating ? Then just add a 6 ' leader piece of something clear to reduce the visibility. My August setup.

60' of 6 pound CHEAP braid stretches about 6 inches in hot August sunlight. And it returns to same length after each stretch. The WINNA. Some small fish hook themselves.

No weed areas ? No cycle of water life. Watery deserts are not productive. I am impossible to please. 20 years ago. Too many thick weedy areas !!

Premium CLEAR LINES ? I still have at least 1/2 of of full spool of 20? year old Ande 6# Monofilament line clear. Strong as ever. In a bureau drawer.

I HAD a 1 piece 7' . Now 2 piece. No longer need to always fold down the backseat anymore.

Angle of sunlight is FAR MORE important. It can be a very bright line in the morning and evening.

Next time buy a 2 piece rod that fits inside the truck body ? There is zero need for a 1 piece rod. 2 piece can do anything a 1 piece can do.

I have kept the 1 glass rod for tossing live bait fish. it is a slower acceleration rate if I start to fast. I have never ripped a live bait with the glass rod. Great bank & live bait rod.

If the CO2 fails. You can inflate it manually. Buy ONLY a USA BRAND. Your life depends on it working. I have always bought directly from the company. All work fine. I always triggered the CO2 to be sure it inflated & held at for at least 1 full day. I bought a replacement CO2 with the jacket / suspender type for fishing. Edit Chack that it inflates manually...........Your life could depend on it.

Boats are dangerous if you get tossed out. Why ? because the wind or current WILL WILL take the boat away from you faster than you can catch up to it wearing a life jacket. But if you have a rope tied around your belt & a solid part of the bow area ? That just keeps your hands & feet clear of the prop ? Interlock pulls free. Engine stops. & you are still attached to the boat. You will find a spot to climb back into the boat. It works...........If I always remember. Tested it at fast idle with a friend. He was head shaking as I easily climbed back in using the O B motor as a ladder.

What do you do if a SUDDEN SQUAL line comes at you from shore ? I have had 5 minute squalls that made up 2 foot waves.
