  1. I am looking into a new rod for strictly jig fishing and decided on another phenix recon but am not sure if I should get the 714 or 715. Which one of these would be better and why? Both are 7'1" just the 714 is a medium heavy and the 715 is a heavy.
  2. I don't have any bass pro reels but on all the reels I do have, I don't use the magnetic breaks at all, just put on two of the centrifugal. I use the spool tension knob and my thumb from there.
  3. Nothing yet but on Sunday I'll be buying a shimano chronarch 200e7, a phenix recon 715, and a phenix composite x12 crankbait rod.
  4. I don't have any spare spools but wish every baitcaster came with one like spinning reels.
  5. I'll probably get a lot of hate for this but I would get a Shimano chronarch 200e5.
  6. Of those options I would go for the kayak. Me personally though, I am turning 16 on Thursday and going to bps on Sunday to buy another chronarch 200e7.
  7. It is stiffer than my medium light bass pro crankin stick. I caught my pb on this rod which was 8.5lb.
  8. I have the 682 with a curado 50e and I love it. I use it for weightless plastics but if you are throwing baits that are 3/8oz then you might want the 683.
  9. I have not read anything good about this reel, my friend has one and its not smooth but he hasn't had a lot of the problems other people have. I still wouldn't get it though, I would spend a little more and get an abu garcia revo s.
  10. Well the reel in not as smooth as my curado 200e7, it doesn't cast as far, it's harder to take apart, the curado is more "low-profile" which feels better to hold, and the clicking spool tension has problems ( yes, even on the gen 3 from what I have heard).
  11. Well I was saying the gen 2 sucks so there is a good chance the gen 3 does too. If I had put the gen 2 was an amazing reel then you probably wouldn't of even said anything but for some reason it's not ok to say its bad.
  12. I say get the Shimano chronarch, I have the second gen revo stx and I hate it.
  13. I'm just going to go with the recon 715 since I already love my current recon and I'm also going to pick up one of the x-composite x12's.
  14. I am looking to get a new jig rod but am not sure if I should get the recon 715H or the m1 72H. What are the differences and which one is better. I already have a recon and I love it but I got it before the m1 series came out so its not like I really had to choose between the two at the time.
  15. My curado 50e with my phenix PHX-C682L is by far my favorite set up. The light rod is so fun, even got my pb on it. Highly recommend the recon, especially the PHX-C682L since it is so light and fun.
  16. Why not just put braid on one of your setups. I have braid on every reel I own and it works great.
  17. Yea I like light tackle. My phenix recon PHX-C682L and Shimano curado 50e is my favorite set up.
  18. I love my Phenix recon PHX-C682L and shimano curado 50e. I even plan to buy another recon.
  19. I wouldn't get the gen 2 revo STX, I personally hate mine. I think I would like the gen 3 though since I think it would feel more like a shimano. I don't know what you like though.
  20. Tell me how to catch a bass there. I have NEVER caught a bass from that lake.
  21. I really like Power Pro and Izorline and hate P-line
  22. I think mine has this same problem.
  23. I keep them in the original bags and put all the bags in a plano 3731.
